Binding a Button's Content property to an XPath query, Accelerator functionality is lost

Hi,

I'm using WPF 3.5.

I'm binding a button's Content property to an XPath query, and all is well until I try to make use of the Accelerator feature.

When I hardcode the text, and place an _ (underscore) in the content, it renders as an accelerator key when the Alt key is pressed.  However, when the content is a binding expression that uses an XPath query, the underscore does not render as an accelerator key.  It simply appears as part of the content.

Here is some simplified XAML code to illustrate:

<UserControl x:Class="Myapp.UI.Screens.PortalScreens.Portal"
	xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
	xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
	xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2006"
	xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006" mc:Ignorable="d"
	x:Name="_this">
<UserControl.Resources>
	<ResourceDictionary>
		<XmlDataProvider x:Key="languageResources" d:IsDataSource="True" Source="Resources\Language\English.xml" />
	</ResourceDictionary>
</UserControl.Resources>
<Grid x:Name="layoutRoot">
	<StackPanel>
		<Button x:Name="ExitButtonWithHardCodedText" Grid.Row=&quo

Content Deployment fails

Dear Colleagues,

I am trying to set a content deployment between two farms (internal / external) but it does not work. Everytime I run the job, it fails with this error message:
'A list, survey, discussion board, or document library with the specified title already exists in this Web site. Please choose another title.'

What I have done:

1. I have created two webapps by the followings:
- http://intranet.test.local:80
- http://extranet.test.local:80

Classic NTLM auth, allow anonymous access

2. I have created one-one site collections to the webapp root, I used english blank site template on both of them

3. On the intranet site I have created a sub site from blog template

4. I have enabled the content deployment on the external server. The external CentralAdmin has a certificate, so I required the encrypted connection for the content deployment.

5. I have created a new path on the internal server:
Name - publish
Source webapp - http://intranet.test.local:80
Source site coll - \
Destination CA - https://externalCA:8090
User name - test\external_admin
Destination webapp - extranet80

When binding Style on a UserControl to Application.Resource a consumer of the usercontrol fails to r

Hi,

I have a WPF application that has a UserControl called 'Address' which sets up a simple form with a grid some labels and some data input controls (TextBoxes..etc.)

I made a little style resource to add a gradient to a grid row background for my headings like this:
<Application.Resources>
        <Style x:Key="GridHeaderFade" TargetType="{x:Type Grid}">
            <Setter Property="Grid.Background">
                <Setter.Value>
                    <LinearGradientBrush ColorInterpolationMode="SRgbLinearInterpolation" >
                        <GradientStop Color="#FFFFFFFF" Offset=".3"/>
                        <GradientStop Color="#B0a0a0a0" Offset=".85"/>
                        <GradientStop Color="#FFFFFFFF" Offset=".99"/>
                    </LinearGradientBrush>
                </Setter.Value>
            </Setter>
        </Style>
    </Application.Resources>
Then in my address control I use:
<Grid Grid.Row="0" Style="{StaticResource GridHeaderFade}" >
            <Label HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="0,-7,0,0"  FontSize="

Content sources page (layouts/listcontentsources.aspx) takes 10 minutes to load or fails with 'Unkn

Ever since this weekend we cannot normally access the Search Content sources page. It takes ages to load and sometime fails with "Unknown error". Also, we have incremental crawls on all our content sources that are stuck for ~30 hours now. Restarting search services didn't help. There's almost no activity on our search server. May have something to do with backup software on the search server but we uninstalled it completely now.

MOSS2007, latest SP's, clustered farm, 2 * FWS, 2 * SQL, separate index server

Any clues?

Thanks

Setup doesn't show installation log file content when installation fails

I just tried to install SharePoint Server 2010.

The installation finally failed after applying all the updates, stating that installing SharePoint Server 2010 could not be completed due to some Office prerequisite not working alright.

The conclusion sentence proposed me to read the installation log files to get further details on the problem.

The only other thing available from the installation window there was the [OK] button - nothing more.

How am I supposed to read installation log files if there is not even a link available pointing me to those log files?

I'm currently performing a search operation on the whole C:\ drive to find the folder where the setup log files might reside.

Perhaps someone can tell me (and others if they are facing the same problem at installation) where the SharePoint Server 2010 installer puts these log files?

Thanks.

PS: I strongly suggest to add a Hyperlink control to the error message, pointing to the installation log files so that the user can quickly put his hands on finding a solution to the problem.

(A problem, I should add, that I believe could have been known to the installation script *before* it started wasting time on trying to install SharePoint Server 2010.)

Binding WPF Controls to an Entity Data Model

In this interview, programming writer, McLean Schofield, demonstrates how to bind WPF controls to an entity data model, using Visual Studio 2010 Beta 1. You can also learn more in the topic: Walkthrough: Binding WPF Controls to an Entity Data Model.

SharePoint Tutorial - Content Types

SharePoint content types provide users with a way to manage and organize content in a more meaningful way. It's a reusable of settings you want to apply to a particular type of document in a library or item in a list.

Enabling Users to Maintain SharePoint Content

When SharePoint is installed as a corporate intranet, there is a considerable amount of effort involved in maintaining the content to keep the site relevant. As we discussed in the first few parts of this series, SharePoint has many built-in features to reduce the burden on the site administrator.

Some areas of the site usually contain less-dynamic information. Internal memos and corporate policies are common examples of this information. One option for this information is to post these documents in a document library. Documents in a library are often stored in a few different formats: Word, Acrobat (PDF), or HTML. Each of these formats has its drawbacks.

Application Vs. Content Pages in SharePoint

SharePoint has two types of ASPX pages. One type is the application page, also known as a _layout page. The other type of ASPX page is a content page, also known as a site page. Each of these page types is stored in a different location in SharePoint. When developers create custom ASPX pages, they must decide on the page type.

Content Types in MOSS 2007

In this article I will try to describe the one of the best feature in Microsoft office Share Point 2007 called Content Types.

Content types are simply collection of contents.Each content in a Content type can have different settings.Basically it is a reusable collection of settings which you want to apply to a particular category of contents.

Content Query Web Part missing in SharePoint 2010

If you don't see content query web part listed in the web parts list, this is because you have not enabled "Search Server Web Parts" feature in site collection features. Enable this feature and content query web part will show in the list of web parts.
