Stacked collapsible panels lose spacing after being collapsed

Hi all- I can't figure out why these collapsible panels are losing their white space inbetween each header after the panel is collapsed.    CSS: .collapsePanelHeader { border: 1px solid #333333; color: #333333; background-color: #e5e5e5; font-weight: bold; padding: 5px; margin-top: 5px; cursor: pointer; } .collapsePanel { height: 0px; background-color: #ffffff; overflow: hidden; border: 1px solid #333333; border-top: none; padding: 5px; padding-top: 10px; }  Panels: <div> <asp:Panel ID="HeaderPanel2" runat="server" CssClass="collapsePanelHeader">   Category 1 <span class="alignRight"> <asp:Label ID="collapseStateTextLabel2" runat="server" CssClass="labelInsidePanelHeader"></asp:Label> <asp:Image ID="HeaderImage2" runat="server" /> </span> </asp:Panel> <asp:Panel ID="ContentPanel2" runat="server" CssClass="collapsePanel"> <asp:TextBox ID="TextBox2" runat="server" BorderStyle="None&

Collapsible Panels and Repeaters

I have a page that has 3 nested repeaters.
For the first two repeaters, the repeater's ItemDataBound event binds the next lower repeater.

This works fine for the data that I have, but causes a large amount of data to load all at once on Page_Load.

Is it possible to use collapsible panels with nested repeaters in such a way that the data only loads when the user clicks a particular linkbutton?

Thank you.

Collapsible panels with validation

Just setup the collapsible panels, there are different fields within the panels that are required. When i submit the page, i get my validation summary, but if the panels are closed, then i cant tell which fields are failing.. so i wou,ld have to open each panel up again to see where i missed something.

Is there anyway to have the panels open up if there are any controls that failed validation?

Panels messing up page layout

On a few different pages in my web app I have a scrollable panel that contains a gridview. When there is nothing in the panel display as I want it to, however when the grid view is populated with data it stretches the panel across the page which looks awful, it means the panel is partially stretched across the window but is still scrollable

Anyone know why this might be happening?

Tab Container, Tab panels with User Controls - bug?

Hello all, I have a aspx page with a tab container, and 5 tabs on it - 4 of which hold user controls on them. I have a strange issue that presents sometimes, and I am not sure just what is causing it. Here is the scenario : there is one user control on each tab. On each of those user controls, there are a number of radio buttons in Update Panels. If a user selects one of the tabs, then selects another tab and clicks on one of the radio buttons on that tab causing a postback, when the page refreshes, the content of the previous tab becomes visible at the top of the current tab, pushing the original content down below it - as if the content of the previous tab has been appended to the top of the current tab's content. Has anyone out there experienced anything like this? What I did to "fix" the issue was simply to go into the aspx code for the tab container, and change the order of the tab panels in the code, something like this :  <cc1:TabContainer ID="tabContainer" runat="server"> <cc1:TabPanel ID="tabFirstTab" runat="server" HeaderText="My first tab" > <ContentTemplate> <uc1:usercontrol1 ID="UC1" runat="server" /> </ContentTemplate> </cc1:TabPanel>

Update Panels, Postback Triggers, and GridViews, Oh my

I've been battling with this page for the past couple days and it works, but it's annoying, so I am hoping someone maybe has dealt with this and can help me a little.   I have an UpdatePanel that acts as a container for a number of other update panels, everything in this container works.  I got the bright idea to add a ModalPopup Extender to enhance the user experience a little when performing a certain function on the site.  The panel that acts as the container for the ModalPopup sits outside the UpdatePanel Container because if it's in the container, any interaction with a child control throws "Input string not in the correct format" error message.  Because this is outside the comfort of the UpdatePanel Container, any control that populates information into the Popup control has to register a Postback.  Thus my problem: the controls that populate the Popup are GridViews.  The only GridView Event I care to cause a PostBack is the SelectedIndexChanged, but PostBack Triggers don't care, they take all comers.  Want to go to the next page? PostBack. Sort? Hell Yeah, Postback. My initial solution is to provide a confirm type of a message under the gridview and have the user confirm their selection by clicking a button to avoid causing a postback until it's necessary, but you know what? That kinda sucks, so I sub

Creating collapsible panel dynamically in datalist

Hey guys,Here is what I have done so far. I have a datalist to show notifications. The datalist is bound to an sqldatasource. I have tried to use a collapsible panel extender in the datalist to hide or show message, but the designer could not render the datalist because of the collapsible panel control. It gives an error "Unknown server tag asp:CollapsiblePanelExtender"here is my code<asp:DataList ID="DataList4" runat="server" Width="625px" DataSourceID="SqlDataSource1" OnItemDataBound="FormatInput"> <HeaderTemplate> <asp:Label ID="Label3" runat="server" Font-Names="Castellar" Font-Size="Large" Text="Notifications"></asp:Label> </HeaderTemplate> <ItemTemplate> <table style="width: 605px"> <tr> <td style="width: 453px"> <asp:Label ID="lbl_Username" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("UserName") %>'></asp:Label>  <asp:Label ID="lbl_NoteType" runat="server" Text='Label'></asp:Label> : <asp:LinkButton ID="lbtn_V

chrome and safari problems with log ins and sign ups in update panels

Hi,This is probably a common problem.I have log in and sign up controls in update panels. They are being focussed on when the user clicks the appropirate button. Once done, hitting the sign-up or the log-in button, the browser (FF, IE) updates the update panels and all looks nice.In chrome and safari however, this does not work quite as nice. Login and sign up still happen. But focussing the controls does not, neither does the update panel update. The user has to reload the page to see that he is actually logged in or has signed up.This is really not nice and I found a very strange error, given that update panels work fine under other circumstances.Whats the problem here and how can this be solved?Thank you very much.Regards,D

Tab panels causing undesirable mark-up reformatting

I am using VS 2010 and making extensive use of tab panels with gridviews inside of each.  I very often am required to reformat the whole document as it seems that the gridview mark-up gets completely reformatted in one continuous line.  In the act of reformatting unwanted things get inserted such as linebreaks. When I was using VS 2008 this behavior was even worse.  Does anyone have a suggestion to fixing this issue?  I am wasting time because things are changing visually and tested work is getting automatically changed.
