I have a collapsible panel extender inside a modal window, my problem is that whenever I click on the link button (to expand my panel), the window closes. Does anyone know of a way to avoid this?

Modal popup window in ASP.Net

A Masked div or modal popup window is a child window created from the parent window which prevents the user from interacting with parent window before he returns to the parent application.

How to pass paramters to Jquery modal window

Hi I have a webpart in a page in which there is a gridview(which shows list of customers). When I click on a link button in gridview, I would like to popup a JQuery modal window and fill the popup(this contains textboxes, then a gridview which contains mapped systems for thet customer, and another gridview which contains list of configured reports for that customer) with the details based on the customer name(link) clicked. Here I need to pass the customer Id and customer name parameters based on which I can fill the Jquery modal window.

Can any one have an idea to pass parameters to JQuery modal window in order to fill the contents inside it?

Refreshing a Jquery modal dialog after closing another Jquery modal dialog

I have one aspx page which contains a webpart. The structure of the webpart is:

Webpart(holds one user control say UC1)

UC1-> contains another user control say (UC2) in a <div>, which I am going to show as a popup on clicking of a link button inside a gridview in UC1.

UC2-> contain another user control say (UC3) in a <div>, which I am going to show as a popup on clicking of a button inside in UC2.

That means -> UC1(main page) ------->(Onclick) One JQuery popup(UC2)--------------->(OnClick) One Jquery popup(UC3) here UC2 is still remaining in focus and UC3 will be another Jquery popup on UC2.

Now my requirement is when i fill the Jquery popup(UC3) and click on save button in UC3, I would like to close UC3 Jquery popup and refresh the gridview inside UC2 Jquery popup without closing it.

Is this possible?(please explain the logic if found in terms of Jquery, but not in terms of normal popup windows)

Panel to fly out window

Here is a challenge. I’d like to be able to copy all elements (with bindings and events) of a panel into a new window on the fly, just like AvalonDock or Visual Studio 2010 do. Any Ideas? AvalonDock, apparently, intercepts Windows messages, I am hoping to stay within .NET. I am trying to create an effect similar to the one found in VS 2010 when Solution Explorer is dragged out of the main window into a secondary monitor (for instance). On my first attempt I was able to serialize all elements and deserialize them into a new window but haven’t found an easy way to take the delegates (events) together. Reflector doesn’t have an inexpensive way to list them, to the best of my knowledge. On my second attempt I tried to disconnect the main node and connect it again, with all its children into the window but I’ve got an error message saying that there are duplicated elements (apparently, some kind of recurring problem with WPF). Thanks for any contributions. - Julio

Window.Open in AJAX Accordian Panel Opens Link in Same Window

I'm using the following span to open a page in a new window. What is INCREDIBLY odd is that it is exactly the same code from three different pages, but the first refuses to open in a new window. The only difference is that the first example resides within an Ajax Accordian Panel so I suspect that it might be an Ajax related issue. Ideas? Does not open in new window.<span onclick="window.open ('http://[domainname]/Mercury/production/content/directory/DirectorySideBar.aspx','mywindow','width=271,height=498,scrollbars=no');">   Opens in new window<span onclick="window.open ('http://[domainname]/Mercury/production/content/directory/DirectorySideBar.aspx','mywindow','width=271,height=498,scrollbars=no');">   Opens in new window<span onclick="window.open ('http://[domainname]/Mercury/production/content/directory/DirectorySideBar.aspx','mywindow','width=271,height=498,scrollbars=no');">

Collapsible Panel Expand Event Help

I have a series of collapsible panels on a page. Each of them contain a databound listview. I am looking for a way to prevent the massive hit to the DB on page load. I was thinking about holding the databinding until the user expands the panel. But there is no onExpanding event. Any ideas on how I can fire server side code when the panel is expanded?

WPF Window as Modal Dialog, strange behavior

Hopefully someone has a clue.... My application displays WPF Window as a modal dialog box. The dialog box has a few child user controls, one of which has combo box. When the user clicks this combo box to select... the whole dialog disappears except of the innards of the combo box. So the user only sees the list box of the combo box. Here are the details I got from the  client: The window itself is launched from non WPF application (Lotus Notes). This happens only on a few machines. The OS is Windows XP SP3. There is no issue with the parent handle, windows owner, etc... I've seen this behavior during the development phase, only when running under a debugger.    Thanks, Michael

Does the ReportViewer control print button work inside of a modal MSIE window?

I am getting the following two error messages when using the new ReportViewer v10 control after pressing the toolbar print button. I am only seeing this error inside of a modal popup window in MSIE. The print button in a normal popup window doesn't have this error. An error occurred trying to get the current window Error: Could not complete the operation due to error 8007f305. If anyone knows of a quick fix, please let me know. Thank you. VS2010, MSIE 8, SQL Server 2008.

Problem with closing window in ie 6 sp 3 after download using Response.BinaryWrite

Hi all, I currently having problems in closing a page that launches a download (using Response.BinaryWrite) opened using IE 6 sp 3. All other versions of IE it closes fine. This page was opened using window.open. Below is a sample code of what i am trying to achieve: protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { Response.Clear(); //Specify the document type. Response.ContentType = "application/word"; //Specify how the document is sent to the browser. Response.AddHeader("content-disposition", "attachment; filename=MyDasddsaocument.doc"); //Get data bytes from the file and send it to the response. byte[] bytes = System.IO.File.ReadAllBytes(@"C:\\Temp\\in.doc"); Response.BinaryWrite(bytes); Response.End(); Page.ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(this.GetType(), "CloseMe", "window.close();", true); } I hope someone can help me with this issue. Closing window in javascript without confirmation

Hello! I need to open a browser window without Toolbars, Status bar and Explorer bars (this means no back, refresh, ... buttons, no histiry, no nothing visible in this browser window). This is what I do: from normal browser window I open new window with all the properties I need and than I close the first window: <body>     <script type="text/javascript">  window.open('login.aspx','','toolbar=no,location=no,directories=no,status=no,scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,                        left=0px, top=0px,width=1024, height=768');  window.close();     </script> </body> This would be OK if the first window would just close, but it doesn't. I get the confirmation window with this text: The Web page you are viewing is trying to close the window. Do you want to close this window? I don't want user to have to close the window manually. Can somebody please tell me how to close browser window without the confirmation popup? Thnx in advanced, dvale
