Can't edit metadata when showing the image.

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 05, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WPF
I have an app that in the Left-hand pane Reads the filenames of the images in a folder and places them into a ListBox.  In the Right-hand pane there are a series of TextBoxes showing various pieces of metadata from the selected image file.  I can read and update the metadata with no trouble. As soon as I place an acutal image in the ListBox it stops updating.  Delving into the class for the metadata tells me that it 'Unable to get writtable property store for this property.'  I believe this is because with the image open in the ListBox it can't update the file. Is there a way to place an image in the ListBox without keeping the original image file open, maybe by using a clone, a thumbnail, or something. Following is is my image class.  You can see what I had to comment out to get it to work. Namespace Image.Viewer     Public Class MyImage         Private _image As ImageSource         Private _name As String         Public Sub New(ByVal image As ImageSource, _                                  ByVal name As String)           &

Append changes to list data not showing in customised edit form

Sharepoint version 3.0 running on Sql Server 2005

My Notes field in a list has the append changes to list ticked so that we can see who added notes and when. This works fine until I attempt to customise the edit form, at this point the previous notes (which had appeared underneath the field) vanish.  How do I get them back? I know they are still there as I can see them when I use the DispForm.aspx view, they dont appear when ever I cuistomise the EditForm.aspx

Assuming I must be missing something obvious as everything else is easy to configure.. Any help or guidance appreciated.

Content Query WebPart (CQWP) not showing thumbnails of the rollup image

I have set up my CQWP to display pages from a newssite. This is working fine, but my rollup images is showing in full size. As I have understood, SharePoint has the ability to scale down pictures and showing them as thumnails.

In the "Fields to display:" I have set the path to "Thumbnail; Rollup Image; ".

Edit bar in Office 2007 not showing up when opening documents through a shortcut. Documents are rea

For more than one user in my network, they are unable to edit office documents when opened through a shortcut.  The document opens in read only mode, cannot find a way in office to edit the document such as through the publish or server menu items.  I did a search and this did not resolve the problem: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/870853

Our sharepoint server is 2003, coupled with SBS 2003

SQL database 2000

Users are using Office 2007, sp2

Operating System: XP, sp3

IE 8

Users are setup to receive all MS updates, so they have latest updates.

The edit bar shows up when opening the document in sharepoint as read only.  Clicking it allows the user to edit the document.  They have contribute privileges to the library and file in sharepoint.  The file(s) are being opened with a shortcut (right click -> New -> Shortcut, paste in the hyperlink to the document in sharepoint).  Strangely enough, I have the same setup as the other users but using office 2010 and the edit document bar shows up when opening the document in the same manner.  On a side note, some users have infopath 2010 installed, others do not.

Any help would be appreciated, or posts to other topics with solutions that I misse

Hello.. I need help here. I'm using Visual Studio 2008 to develop a web application. In the web, I have a page that can upload an image file to the folder of my server. And, in the other page, its showing whatever the picture that I uploaded before. The question is, why the picture can not be shown correctly? Do I have to upload the file to the folder that included in my VS Solution? Or is there any another way to display it properly? I have checked the code from the browser and the img src path is correct but the image just doesn's show up.. THanks

add image as grid column then send ID to edit on image click

hello - new to webmatrix and C# so probably playing with fire here....

I have a page that allows a user to add, edit, list, and delete database items.  I would like to add an "edit" graphic to each row in the list.  Something like this:

    <div id="grid">@grid.GetHtml(
    columns: grid.Columns(
        grid.Column("<img src="editfield.gif" />"),

up above I have:

        var SQLForGrid = db.Query("SELECT * FROM Books");
        var grid = new WebGrid(source: SQLForGrid, defaultSort: "Title");

then when the edit image is clicked it should send the page the id of what they want to edit.

any help/ideas are appreciated.

Hello everyone ,

Public Shared Function GetImageLocation(ByVal Amount AS Double, ByVal Cost AS Double) AS String
       DIM tmpProfitLoss AS Double
       DIM tmpProfitPercentage AS Double
      'calculate profit/loss and determine percentage of profit ratio
       tmpProfitLoss = Amount - Cost
       tmpProfitPercentage = (tmpProfitLoss / Amount) * 100

       'check for loss first, then more then 10%
       If tmpProfitLoss < 0

Inplace Edit in GridView

In this article I am presenting a different way to look at EditItemTemplate, using which user navigation for editing is reduced and . it looks very different (see screeen shots) then regular implementation of GridView.

Edit GridView Individual Cells in ASP.NET

The ASP.NET GridView allows for a row of data to be edited by setting the EditIndex property of the GridView, placing the entire row in edit mode.

You may not want the entire row in edit mode if you are using DropDownList controls for several columns in the EditItemTemplate. If each DropDownList has many options then loading them all at once may result in a sluggish page. Also, if your data structure is more like a 2 dimensional array rather than a set of rows, you may want to edit each cell individually.

Here I will demonstrate how to achieve this and also how to deal with event validation without disabling it.

ASP.Net Gridview Edit Update Cancel Commands

In ASP.Net 2.0, GridView Control also provides the functionality to edit and update the data retrieved from the database using CommandField template. You can cancel the action using Cancel Command of the CommandField. GridView consists of events that can be used to perform the actions like edit, update and cancel upon the Data items displayed in the ASP.Net GridView Data Control.

Edit Individual GridView Cells in ASP.NET

The ASP.NET GridView allows for a row of data to be edited by setting the EditIndex property of the GridView, placing the entire row in edit mode.

You may not want the entire row in edit mode if you are using DropDownList controls for several columns in the EditItemTemplate. ASP.NET GridView - edit records using JQuery Dialog

There are many ways in which you could modify modular data in Grid View:
1. Inline by making rows editable when u click on Edit
2. By using separate pages for Edit
3. By using popups/dialogs for adding/editing

Built-in Functions - Text and Image Functions in SQL Server

Text and image functions operate on TEXT, NTEXT and IMAGE data types. These data types are deprecated with SQL Server 2005 and should be replaced by VARCHAR(MAX), NVARCHAR(MAX) and VARBINARY(MAX) when possible. Alternatively you can also consider storing large string values using XML data type. Text and image functions are nondeterministic.

Future versions of SQL Server will not support TEXT, NTEXT and IMAGE data types. Columns with TEXT / NTEXT data type do not support commonly used string functions such as LEN, LEFT, RIGHT, etc. Furthermore, due to the large size of TEXT data you''re likely to see performance issues if you store such data in the database. However, at times you can''t help but use the TEXT / NTEXT / IMAGE data types (for example when supporting 3rd party databases when you cannot change the schema) - this is when text and image functions come in handy.

Program for Format Conversion of An Image

.NET provides extensive support for image conversion. Any image can be processed from one format to another. Most common formats to which .NET have support for are .BMP, .EMF, .GIF, .ICO, .JPG, .PNG, .TIF and .WMF.
