Sharepoint calendar sync with personal outlook calendar

Hello I want our users to be able to make meetings in sharepoint and see it directly in their personal calendar, also when other users subscribe and unsubcribe it should be seen in their personal calendar. I know its possible to "Link/Connect with outlook" but this makes a new "Other Calendar" which u can put side to side with your own calender. I would like to have it directly imported into my personal outlook calendar.  Is there any known information , links about this?

Sharepoint Calendar export to Outlook but can only view the Title column

I have created a Calendar in Sharepoint for booking out company vehicles. The fields I have created are: Vehicle (Choice), Driver (User/Group), Start & End Times, Title (text), DisplayField (Calculated text based on Vehicle + Title...... it would be nice to include Driver but it seems Sharepoint cannot handle the User/Group datatype in a calculated field.....but I digress). I use the DisplayField calculated field in my default calendar view in Sharepoint. All is good at this point. When one connects it to Outlook (via the Action menu in Sharepoint) the calendar is added but all the entries show only the Title field. If I double click on an entry, only the title field appears - the Vehicle and Driver values are missing. When I try to create a new entry - only the Title field (plus other default Outlook fields) are available. So: How can one display a value other than Title by default, and how can I display the other columns when looking at the event detail?

Sharepoint Calender in personal Outlook Calendar

Hello,   my project manager wants to have all the meetings he creates on sharepoint automaticly visible into his personal outlook. No fancy overlay or 2e calendar, he wants it all in 1 Calendar. What woudl be the best way to develop this? I was thinking of a reusable workflow/action which inserted the data with Exchange web services. would this be the best/fasterst way ?   thanks for reading, Andy

Outlook to sharepoint calendar wss 3.0

Is it possible to make a sharepoint calendar a contact.  Scenario sales sets up a meeting with a customer.  Would like the sales rep to add sharepoint calendar A as an attendee and the meeting post to the sharepoint calendar A?  I know I can link the calendar in outlook and drag the appointment or meeting to the sharepoint site however I would like to make it as easy as possible for a group that is constantly on the go.

update SharePoint calendar while updating Outlook Calendar

Is it possible to synchronize calendars between Outlook and SharePoint such that a user in Outlook can elect, on any given calendar entry, to have that entry post to a SharePoint calendar AT THE SAME TIME?  Our division has a presence on our SharePoint intranet site.  On the site is a calendar that shows vacation time of all division employees.  What we hope to be able to do is that when an employee enters there vacation on their own Outlook calendar, that it updates the Employee Vacation Calendar on the SharePoint site too.

I am aware of the ability to synchronize calendars, and have the SP calendar show up in Other Calendars in Outlook, and then drag a copy from the Outlook calendar to the SharePoint calender as shown here: http://sharepoint.microsoft.com/Blogs/GetThePoint/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?List=8d9e2a99-f288-47c2-916b-2f32864f7b82&ID=73&Web=5e4647a0-e7d0-4626-b71c-b1ff06402465, but we are hoping to even eliminate that copying step.

Improvements with Sharepoint and Outlook calendar integration?

The "Connect to Outlook" feature is a great feature to synchronize Outlook 2007 and Sharepoint 2007. It allows showing events created from Sharepoint calendars in Outlook. But for me, there are some limitations that really blocked some users of using Sharepoint calendar:

- even if users can detect manually conflicts in outlook between sharepoint events and their own events of their own Outlook calendar, there is no automatic alert.
- when creating events from Sharepoint, users cannot invit attendees
- if users have already created an event into their own outlook calendar, their is no way to publish it to Sharepoint

Actually I would like to know if Sharepoint 2010 and Outlook 2010 will improve these points.

Thank you.

Sharepoint Services 3.0 - hooking into outlook 2007 / 2010?

I'm looking at creating a Meeting Workplace using sharepoint services 3.0.

I'm reading a lot about calendars and how you can configure them to receive emails & update the calendar & such.

What I want to know is if it can be hooked into Outlook 2007 / 2010 so that it will either directly update my (and other members) calendars, or if it can be configured to broadcast the meeting request to the other members.

Thanks.

SharePoint and Outlook syncing not going through Load Balancer

Hi,

There are many users who connect to document libraries from their Outlook. In our organization usually people sync their MySite document libraries with their Outlook. The synching works fine with no issues. Of late we have discovered that these syncing requests do not go through the load balancer.

We have four web servers and three web applications including MySite. The load balancer was configured to spread requests to all the web servers for all the web applications. The IIS logs always show the load balancer IP as the client IP confirming that all requests are coming through the load balancer.

Due to a recent change in the farm architecture, we have reconfigured the load balancer to route MySite requests to only one web server and the other web applications to the other three web servers. This works fine which we verified from the IIS logs that all users are hitting the web server dedicated to MySites.

But when we see the IIS logs of the three web servers (other than the one for MySite), we see that requests for MySites are still coming to these servers. All these requests are coming from Outlook (confirmed from the cs-useragent in the IIS) and the IP is not of the load balancer but from the user's laptop.

Is there a way to stop these requests from coming to all these web servers directly without going through the load

Getting Started with Windows SharePoint Services

Of all of the capabilities of SharePoint, I thought I would start with the most basic installation - as a corporate intranet. It is likely that we will need to discuss some of the elements of SharePoint as we go along, so this also gives us the opportunity to review these elements for future reference.

Before going into too much detail, I would like to point out that you can try the core SharePoint framework (known as Windows SharePoint Services or WSS) for free. On Microsoft's Web site you can download a trial version of Virtual PC 2004 (VPC). Using VPC, you can install the Windows 2003 Evaluation Kit and the WSS add-on. This combination will give you 45 days to evaluate the setup.
