Is there a way to have more than 1 "item placeholder" in a listview to accomplish having multiple in

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 05, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net
I need to have 3 different sections of a listview act as a repeater, but independen of each other.  Each will have identical column headings, but different datasources.  They will all share the same Heading, but each will have a different footer.  In other words, I need to have 3 different "itemPlaceholders" in one listview. Can that be done. Presently, I have a panel with three listviews nested together.  It works fine except that the formatting of them doesn't stay consistent.  Thanks

delete multiple selection from ListView

Hi All

My ListView has CheckBox column to select ListView items. I don't use SelectionMode="Multiple". I would like to select multiple items and delete them by click button. For that I use a loop

If ListView1.SelectedItems.Count > 0 Then
  For i As Integer = ListView1.SelectedItems.Count - 1 To 0 Step -1
End If

When I select items and click Delete button nothing was deleted. How fix and get multiple delete items from ListView.

C# ListView groups and subItems. Multiple rows? SubItems as 2d array?

I am attempting to have multiple rows in one column associated with 1 ListViewItem.

I am pulling the data from an XML file with XQuery.  I am able to iterate over the multiple elements using:

listItem.Group = listView1.Groups["phone"];

var g = q.Elements("phone");//data pulled from query

 foreach( var p in g )

string phone_num = p.Value;

I have also tried:

 listItem.SubItems.Add(new ListViewItem.ListViewSubItem(listItem, phone_num));

I am attempting output similar to:

Client                Phone #      ColumnN

John Smith        123-4567       blahN

                        234-5677         -

Jane Smith        345-6787      blahN

Thanks in advance for any help.

Multiple database support with Entity Framework

One of the features introduced in Entity Framework is being database independent. Which mean each database provider can support Entity Framework by implementing its provider.

This feature allows you build applications independent from the underplaying database provider. In this post I'm going to show how to build an application that support multiple databases using same conceptual model made by Entity Framework.

Using ASP.NET 3.5's ListView and DataPager Controls: Displaying Data with the ListView

Prior to ASP.NET 3.5, developers who needed to display a set of records could choose between the GridView, DataList, and Repeater controls. The GridView provides rich data features, but has a very boxy layout; the DataList and Repeater allow for a more flexible layout, but lack the "point and click" data features found in the GridView, DetailsView, and FormView controls. The ListView bridges the gap between layout flexibility and built-in data features.

This article, the first in a series of articles on the ListView and DataPager controls, looks at the ListView's many available templates and illustrates how to display data. Read on to learn more!

Multiple Column Dropdownlist for the ASP.NET DataGrid

Based on my previous control "Multiple Column DropDownList for ASP.NET", I received many emails asking for the same control to be used in the DataGrid for web applications. Here we go.. This control can be used as the regular MS DropDownList in the DataGrid and also as a regular dropdownlist. It has all the properties, like DataTextField, DataValueField, DataSource, SelectedIndex etc. The download file contains the samples both in VB.NET and C#. In this sample, I have used the Northwind database of SQL Server.

The final product will work with or without a MasterPage and you can drag and drop more than one instances of the control on to the page.

WPF Tutorial - Using The ListView, Part 1

Many of the controls in WPF have a downright dizzying array of capabilities and features, due in large part to the composibility of all the components. The ListView control is a great example of this - the possibilities are almost endless. Multiple Instances of User Control

I have a user control that I place on a page severl times.  When I make a selection on a ddl in one one control the SelectedIndexChanged event fires for all the control on the page for that ddl.  So I get duplication of an insert that I do.  Is there a way to make sure these events are isolated so this doesn't happen.
