Problem with "Edit" and "Delete" buttons in gridview!

Hi everyone. I have problem with the buttons Edit and Delete in Gridview for very long time and i really need help about it. So i have gridview and sqldatasource. First i try to make this buttons manually and as you will see in sqldatasource 5 and 6 i have these buttons my records show up but the buttons not working. After that i was advised to do it automatically with gridview smart tag options and Generate columns - this is what i did in sqldatasource7 and gridview7. But both ways i need to change the statements with my own because that what they create not works. So select statement works. Now the error that i get in both ways is the same:The GridView 'GridView(the number could be 5,6 or 7)' fired event RowEditing which wasn't handled.See how looks my page:Now here's my code in aspx:<%@ Page Language="C#" Title="Specific Search in Phone Directory" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Default3.aspx.cs" Inherits="Default3" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <%@ Register Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" TagPrefix="cc1" %> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head id="Head1" runat="serv

Gridview Delete not working

I just downloaded VS2010 with Framework 4.0.30319 I've bound a gridview control to a datasource, defined the select, insert, and delete SQL statements. Select and insert are working just fine thank you, but when I select the (auto-generated) Delete link, a postback occurs, but the row/record remains in the gridview. I have the one-segment key in the select statement, in an invisible column of the gidview. I've set the DataKeyNames property to this column name (CinID).  The delete query reads - DELETE FROM CallIn WHERE (CinID = Cid) I've defined the parameter Cid as the Gridview.SelectedRow, .SelectedDataKey, .SelectedIndex, and .SelectedValue, all with no joy. I created SUB Gridview.RowCommand put a breakpoint there. e.Command shows "Delete" and e.CommandArgument shows the correct row index (1). I created SUB Girdview.DeletingRow and put a breakpoint there. debug shows .SelectedRow=nothing and .SelectedDataKey=nothing (but I don't know if they *should* show something, since I'm not selecting, but rather deleting the row. The postback occurs (click), the grid refreshes, but nothing happens. I cannot figure out why the clicked-on row does not delete. Any ideas?

Gridview Delete not working

I just downloaded VS2010 with Framework 4.0.30319

I've bound a gridview control to a datasource, defined the select, insert, and delete SQL statements.

The delete query reads -

DELETE FROM CallIn WHERE (CinID = Cid)

I've defined the parameter Cid as the Gridview.SelectedRow, .SelectedDataKey, .SelectedIndex, and .SelectedValue, all with no joy.

Any ideas?

It has been suggested that I explicitly set the .Selecte

GridView Edit-update don't work Delete does work

Can't tell what is wrong here . It worked fine and I didn't did anything special in code-behind

I don't see any error  just the same data in gridview

" SelectCommand="SELECT [Date], [InitEmployee], [AmitName], [AgentcyName], [Broker], [MobileNumber], [TZ], [Reason], [CareDate], [Status], [Notes], [CareAgent] FROM [ClientsDmeiNihulRequests] ORDER BY [Date] DESC" ConflictDetection="OverwriteChanges" DeleteCommand="DELETE FROM [ClientsDmeiNihulRequests] WHERE [Date] = @original_Date AND [TZ] = @original_TZ AND (([InitEmployee] = @original_InitEmployee) OR ([InitEmployee] IS NULL AND @original_InitEmployee IS NULL)) AND (([AmitName] = @original_AmitName) OR ([AmitName] IS NULL AND @original_AmitName IS NULL)) AND (([AgentcyName] = @original_AgentcyName) OR ([AgentcyName] IS NULL AND @original_AgentcyName IS NULL)) AND (([Broker] = @original_Broker) OR ([Broker] IS NULL AND @original_Broker IS NULL)) AND (([MobileNumber] = @original_MobileNumber) OR ([MobileNumber] IS NULL AND @original_MobileNumber IS NULL)) AND (([Reason] = @original_Reason) OR ([Reason] IS NULL AND @original_Reason IS NULL)) AND (([CareDate] = @original_CareDate) OR ([CareDate] IS NULL AND @original_CareDate IS NULL)) AND (([Status] = @original_Status) OR ([Status] IS NULL AND @original_Status IS NULL)) AND (([Notes] = @original_Notes) OR ([Not

Inplace Edit in GridView

In this article I am presenting a different way to look at EditItemTemplate, using which user navigation for editing is reduced and . it looks very different (see screeen shots) then regular implementation of GridView.

Adding Dynamic Rows in ASP.NET GridView Control with TextBoxes and with Delete functionality

In my previous examples, I have demonstrated on how to add dynamic rows in GridView control with TextBoxes and how to save the values into the database. Now, seems that most of the developers are asking if how to add a delete functionality with it. So in this example, I'm going to show on how to delete a certain row in the dynamic GridView with TextBoxes.

Edit GridView Individual Cells in ASP.NET

The ASP.NET GridView allows for a row of data to be edited by setting the EditIndex property of the GridView, placing the entire row in edit mode.

You may not want the entire row in edit mode if you are using DropDownList controls for several columns in the EditItemTemplate. If each DropDownList has many options then loading them all at once may result in a sluggish page. Also, if your data structure is more like a 2 dimensional array rather than a set of rows, you may want to edit each cell individually.

Here I will demonstrate how to achieve this and also how to deal with event validation without disabling it.

ASP.Net Gridview Edit Update Cancel Commands

In ASP.Net 2.0, GridView Control also provides the functionality to edit and update the data retrieved from the database using CommandField template. You can cancel the action using Cancel Command of the CommandField. GridView consists of events that can be used to perform the actions like edit, update and cancel upon the Data items displayed in the ASP.Net GridView Data Control.

Edit Individual GridView Cells in ASP.NET

The ASP.NET GridView allows for a row of data to be edited by setting the EditIndex property of the GridView, placing the entire row in edit mode.

You may not want the entire row in edit mode if you are using DropDownList controls for several columns in the EditItemTemplate. If each DropDownList has many options, then loading them all at once may result in a sluggish page. Also, if your data structure is more like a 2 dimensional array rather than a set of rows, you may want to edit each cell individually.

Gridview with Radio Buttons

As now, Radio buttons are HTML controls, I am not able to get it on server side. When user select any radio button and press submit, Control will not available at code behind, you can use "e.Item.FindControl" as it is not "runat='server'". I want ID "Primary Key" value for selected radio button. To achive this I took the help of Javascript. I wrote javascript function that sets the values of "Primary Key" in hidden field when user clicks on any radio button. Now when user clicks on Submit button, user can get selected value froim hidden field.
