Matrix Column grouping - Total column incorrect when colum value is wrapped in a call to code

I have a column grouped matrix report that shows count, cost and duration.  Duration is time in seconds.  To format the time on the report as hh:mm:ss I send it through a code block that converts the int to a string.

When the report is generated the total column is NOT code.convert(sum(Fields!Duration.Value)).  At first I thought it was taking the max value, then I thought it is was taking the first value.. not really sure how it is calculating the value.

I did trying wrapping the expression like this IIF(InScope("matrixgroup"), Code.Convert(Fields!Duration.Value), Code.Convert(Sum(Fields!Duration.Value))).  It didn't make a difference the column is still incorrect.

If I remove the Code.Convert from the column, the value is correct.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

HELP: How to add Total to a row in a calculated column of a Matrix

Hey guys,

I guess the title wasnt the best representation of my problem, so basically what I need is to add a total of a row so I can count how many developments were closed under a certain SLA. So I created a matrix like the one below, let's say that the SLA for Bugs is 30 hours and for UserStories is 55 hours. What I need to work is the column "Leadtime On Track" to identify and quantify the volume of bugs and UserStories within these SLA, ok? So the matrix was built with the following structure:

 - group by EntityType (bug ou userstory),
 - group by EntityID (101010,101011,101012....n),
 - Qty: [Count(EntityID)]
 - Avg LeadTime: round(Avg(Fields!CycleTime.Value),2)
 - LeadTime: =round(sum(Fields!CycleTime.Value), 2)

To identify the ones under the SLA I used the following formula, which worked:

=iif(((Fields!EntityType.Value.Equals("Bug")) andalso (sum(Fields!CycleTime.Value))<=30) or ((Fields!EntityType.Value.Equals("UserStory")) and (sum(Fields!CycleTime.Value))<=55), 1, 0)

however it only works on the dimension "EntityID", because where I tried to have the overall, dimension EntityType, by

Show grand total running total in GridView Footer

In many scenarios we need to display Running total as well as Grand total in GridView footer. In this post i will try to explain in an easy way that how we can display running total & Grand total in a GridView footer combindly. To explain this solution using an example here i use a sales order report. The report contains all sales order amount in a tabular way. I will use a GridView to display sales order amount and use GridView footer to display Running total & Grand total. Let we have a customer table with id and name column plus an orders table with OrderID,CustomerID,OrderDate & Amount. Now our goal is to show all customers order with amount as well as page wise running total & grand total. Note that running total is necessary when you enable paging in a GridView where as Grand total is always you can consider.

Web Matrix + Windows Authentication

I'm curious if its possible to get windows auth working with asp.net webpages/webmatrix.

I've got it published to IIS with windows auth turned on and anonymous/forms/basic turned off.

I'm guessing the WebSecurity Helper probably won't work here but can you access User.Identity.Name etc?

Sorry for the newbie questions, I've only just started working with asp.net ^^,

DirectX 8.0: Enhancing Real-Time Character Animation with Matrix Palette Skinning and Vertex Shaders

DirectX 8.0 allows the creation of smooth and realistic character movements that are more life-like than simple articulated structure animations. This is made possible by its improved support for vertex tweening and blended vertex deformations, also known as soft-skinning. After a brief history of the use of these techniques in DirectX, soft-skinning using the fixed function pipeline is discussed. This is followed by the use of matrix palettes from within vertex shaders to create a customized soft-skinning solution that takes advantage of the benefits of vertex shaders, such as hardware acceleration and custom lighting algorithms without the limitations of fixed-function solutions.

Super Complex Table/Matrix

Hi

I'm in a situation where I have to build a super complex table or rather matrix

This is how the table/matrix should look like:

http://yfrog.com/f/0seq7j/

The complex thing is that everything is taken from a database.

I will try to explain the color sections one by one.

SERIE (Green area)

If we start with the top columns; SERIE 1, SERIE 2, SERIE 3

These values are coming from a table column value. If this column has the value 3 then I will need to print 3 table cells, just like in the image.

MEDICINE NAMES (Blue area)

Then there is the outer left columns, that goes like this;

Behandlingsdag (meaning day of treatment)

Osplatin (100 mg/m2)

Leucovorin (x)

And so forth.

All these values are also coming from 3 different tables

One Column (Yellow area)

These cells are getting their values from a table. According to some true og false values.

1, 2, 3, 4 (Red area)

Then there is the table cells below the SERIES. These table cells goes like this

First there is a 1, then there are the tables cells 1 to 18 all below

Total newbie question: Calling jQuery in an UpdatePanel?

Hi,

Please forgive this ignorant question - I've used ASP.NET AJAX a good deal but I'm new to jQuery.  Specifically, is it possible to call or create jQuery events on the fly via an UpdatePanel?  For example, calling a jQuery modal or animating a Label (or <div> contained Literal), etc.

If anyone has any advice or could point me to some easy tutorials on mixing ASP.NET AJAX and jQuery, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

Calculating GridView total using JavaScript/JQuery

Hello everyone.

One month ago I've had very nice conversation with a asp.net forum member asking about issue regarding calculation of GridView textboxes total using JavaScript. The main thing was to allow user to manually write values in the text boxes (placed inside GridView column) and if the value has changed automatically to perform calculation on client side.

At the end of the conversation, we came up to two solutions. The first solution was using plain JavaScript, but since I thought it was not so robust, and in order to make it more robust we would need to write few more functions. Therefore, I have simply proposed another solution using JQuery which came up much better, more robust with less code.

In this blog post I will show both of the solutions and will provide step by step explanation on how we did that.

Note: I'm using VWD.

Adding Totals to RDLC Matrix

I'm using a local RDLC report in VS2008 / .NET 3.5 which includes a Matrix.  It works fine and shows its corresponding Rows, Columns, and Data values as specified.

How can I add row totals / column totals in order to show sum of Data values both horizontally and vertically?

Get cumulative total value on x-axis.

I'm currently displaying: January $200 February $100 March $400 I want to display:( i've set the custom to MMM on the axis-properties, but still the months are not getting into below required format)  Jan $200 Feb $100 Mar $400 Total $700 on the x-axis.  And i want the y-axis to be divided in the intervals of 200, but though i've set the interval as 200, it is displaying in divisions of 2000.

Calculating Full Year Total

Im creating a sales report in SSRS by pointing it at a cube in SSAS.  Im creating calculated members to aggregate my data in various ways so they can be shown on the report.   I have a FACT table containing sales figures and various dimension tables including a server created time dimension.   Ive managed to create pretty much everthing I need (e.g. Current YTD, Prior year YTD).  What I now need is a full year figure to compare current year sales to.   Below is what Im aiming for i.e. the total of 122712 from 2009 appearing against every month in 2010.   Fiscal Year Fiscal Month Count Full Prior Year sales 2009 Apr-09 9805     May-09 9942     Jun-09 8986     Jul-09 9696     Aug-09 8912     Sep-09 10097     Oct-09 11713     Nov-09 10434     Dec-09 8820     Jan-10 10821     Feb-10 11844     Mar-10 11645     Total 122712   2010 Apr-10 3517 122712   May-10 1669 122712   Jun-10 2518 122712   Jul-10 3306 122712   Ive been bashing my head against a brick wall with this one so any help would be gratefully received!

Checking out Web Matrix

I dont recall seeing if webmatrix requires asp.net 4.0,  does it?

Matrix (or table) like form: questions

Hi! I have to build a form to allow user to submit data; in some cases user should have to fill "matrix" forms, or table... I mean, I will have to define some columns, to be filled with data by user row by row (with the number of rows predefined too). So, I'm wondering if there's a smarter method to create a "matrix" like form than manually creating a grid with labels and textboxes. At first it seems that, at least visually speaking, datagrid could work; but i've always used it binded to some data source, so its population was automatic. Anyone knows if a datagrid could be created "blank", without any databinding, to be real-time populated? Or if there's a better solution? Thanks! ;)
