Integration Services Will Not Run

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 04, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server
Win 2008 Enterprise sp2 64 bit. SQL 2008 Std 64 bit. I cannot get a BI project to load or build new. First I had Visual Studio 2008 Team System Database. Would not load. Then I installed SQL 2008 sp1. (currently 10.0.2531.0 SP1) No change. Uninstalled VS, rebooted & installed VS 2008 Profesional. No change. Error is: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.Wizard' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. Just to make the day extra-special, I find out my new box with VS2010 does not even support SSIS/BI anymore. Looks like back to Windows XP again!!@#$!

COM+ Integration: How .NET Enterprise Services Can Help You Build Distributed Applications

The .NET Common Language Runtime (CLR) is Microsoft's next-generation component technology. The CLR is a replacement for COM, but not for COM+. COM+, now called .NET Enterprise Services, is the Microsoft object runtime environment for scalable system development. This article explains how to implement and deploy COM+ configured classes using the CLR, how to access object context and call context, and the rules for managing context-relative object references. Also discussed are ways to manage precious resources such as data connections and pooled objects, and the relationship between COM+ and the new .NET remoting architecture.

Reporting Services in SharePoint integration - configurtion errors in 64bit version

We have build an MOSS 2007 environment on 64 bit servers. We build the reporting services server and configured in SharePoint integration mode. Initially configuration looks fine with reporting services integration with green indicators.

After creating a web application and accessing the web site from the report servor, i have found the following errors:

Server Error in '/' Application.

HTTP 401: Unauthorized when trying to specify reporting services for integration, cannot connect to

I am trying to install reporting services and join it into existing service farm.

Main  MOSS 2007 is on one pc, with config bases etc, while reporting services, reporting services db will be on other pc.

We are using same domain account to run sharepoint services and reporting services.

I've installed web part of MOSS on that other computer, also reporting services and sql server, set reporting services in integration mode.

Either way, it wont work for me:

If i am running the service of reporting services as Network Service account, then the /reportserver page will complain about some generic error "probably you dont have access to the farm if you are in integrated mode" etc....

I've read that i should include networkservice into a group WSS_WPG which i did, no luck anyway, same error

If i try to type the adress into the integration with reporting services in moss admin page, i will get error like "expected xml received html" and alot of red text.

If i switch service to run from domain account (the one that is used for running sharepoint on the domain) (we did the spn thing, didnt work either), the /reportserver page will open

Issues with SSIS and SQL 2008 - Integration services not running

Hey guys, I installed SQL 2008 with complete BI studio including Integration Services. When i check in my services - i cant see my integraiton services in there When i try to connect to Integration Service using localhost, I cant connect it And when i try to run setup of SQL 2008 - It shows that Integration Services already installed and that what i checked when i fetched my Installation tool report from SQL Server to verify i have it installed. Why can i access Integration services, if i already have it, Please suggest with ideas, checks i can make to ensure every setting is in place. Thanks. Would appreciate for quick response.

Reporting Services and Sharepoint Integration - Sharepoint Alternate Access Mappings (Zones)

I get the following error when I try to navigate to a report/model/data source, stored in a Sharepoint Document Library using a Sharepoint URL based on an Extranet or Intranet zone - but it works OK using the url for the Default zone: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: The specified path refers to a SharePoint zone that is not supported. The default zone path must be used. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.SecurityZoneNotSupportedException: The specified path refers to a SharePoint zone that is not supported. The default zone path must be used. Is this a limitation of the SQLRS-WSS3 integration or is there a workaround? Many thanks to anyone who can help!

Sql server Report services integration with moss 2007 giving hard time.

Hey guys, I have 2 servers  in seperate domain one for database and other for moss 2007. SERVER 1 :     AD,DNS,SMTP,SQL SERVER 2005 sp3 .... SERVER 2:    MOSS 2007 APPLICATION SERVER with sp2 and october cumilative updates applied. i have even installed NDP20-KB913384-X86.exe hot fix for .net framework 2.0 access voilation error. In CA my server 2 version is When i installed sql server 2005 on server 1 during installtion for report server i choosed install but do not configure. Now I decided to integrate the sql server report services into sharepoint and did some research and found some articles on msdn which says in order to integrate the report services into sharepoint i need to have a minimal install of moss 2007 on server hosting report services (correct me if i am wrong). since i have only 2 servers i decided to install the minimal installation of moss 2007 on my server 1 ( Web front end only ). Here are the steps i followed for it Installed .NET framework 3.0 Installed moss 2007 sp2 Installed october cumuilative update for wss then same for moss 2007. Installed .net framework 2.0 NDP20-KB913384-X86.exe hot fix. and then ran the psconfig from command line as psconfig -cmd configdb -connect -server <SQLServerName> -database SharePoint_Config_ <dbname> -user <domainusername> -password <passw

SharePoint integration with SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services

Hello Everyone,   I have been banging my head against the wall with trying to integrate SharePoint 2007 and SQL Reporting Services.  If anyone could offer any assistance, I would appreciate it greatly. I have been following these 2 websites down to the letter in trying to configure everything:     1. http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb326356.aspx     <---Microsoft's Steps   2. http://blogs.msdn.com/sharepoint/archive/2007/02/19/microsoft-sql-server-2005-sp2-reporting-services-integration-with- wss-3-0-and-moss-2007.aspx   <---SharePoint Blog Group     Basically my setup is as follows:   Server 1 = SharePoint 2007 Server 2 = SQL Server Reporting Services SP2 / SharePoint 2007 services Server 3 = Database   Server1 is setup and running SharePoint 2007 fine with no problems. It was installed under the complete option with its own server farm. Then with the Server2, SharePoint 2007 is installed again, also under the complete complete option, and configured to join Server1's server farm. In this way, Server2 is able to supply Server1 with services and it has been said that if you are using 2 different servers, one for SharePoint and one for Reporting Services, you need to have an instance of SharePoint on the reporting services box. With a SharePoint "front-end" the reporting-services now has a way to also join Server1s farm.   This is where the headache be

Configuring Reporting Services Integration with PowerShell

I used the powershell script described here to configure my Reporting Services installation through WMI. Now I want to use Powershell to complete the Reporting Services with SharePoint Integration configuration. Is it possible to use PowerShell to perform the steps that you would otherwise do through Central Administration --> General Application Settings --> Reporting Services: Add a Report Server to the Integration Reporting Services Integration I can't find anything that will let me script this part. Can it be done through a PS cmdlet or even wmi? Thanks in advance!

Problems installing SQL Server 2005 Integration Services for Server 2008 R2

I am trying to install Microsoft Forefont and i have got a tick on every requirement bar 1. I can't install SWL Server 2005 Integration Services Component. I am running windows Server 2008 R2. How do I use Integration Services to achieve Push-mode processing for Analysis Services?

[This is just for sharing information for those common asked questions collected from forums. If you have any better way or feedback, please directly reply in this thread so that community users can benefit from your answers.] Question: I have some data sources which are plain text files and I want to directly load the data from these sources to my SSAS cubes. How can I do that? Answer: Usually when you process a cube, the SSAS service will send SQL queries to the underlying data source so as to load data into the cube. This is a typical pull-mode processing. But in some cases, the data sources are non-regular databases or plain text files, which will cause difficulties to use pull-mode processing since you could not use any type of SQL. In this case, you may want to use a push-mode processing. Microsoft SSIS provides this function. It can fetch data from underlying data sources and pushes the data into SSAS cubes directly. For example, the internet order quantity of the calendar year 2001 is: 1031. But for some reason, you need to add a new record from txt file to the cube: ProductKey    OrderDateKey    DueDateKey    ShipDateKey    CustomerKey    PromotionKey    CurrencyKey    SalesTerritoryKey    SalesOrderNumber    SalesOrderLineNum

SQL Server Integration Services 2005 x64 (DTEXEC.EXE) cannot recognise a custom "Connection Manager"

I have built a custom SSIS component for connecting to SQL Reporting Services in SSIS - including a custom data source and custom connection.

It works fine using 32bit DTEXEC and dtsdebughost, but I cannot get it to load in a 64bit environment.

Initialy I was compiling the dlls as MSIL (target=any), then I recompiled specifically targetting x64 (copying the dlls to the 64bit location and deploying to the GAC), just to see whether the problem was because of using an MSIL binary.

The 32bit version works as expected - are there any additional registration steps required for a 64bit Connection manager beyond copying to the /connections directory and installing  into the GAC?

The output from DTSEXEC:

c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Binn>DTExec.exe /f "e:\temp\SSISCus
