Xsltlistviewwebpart social tagging error on cross site list

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 04, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint
Hi! I have exported an xsltslistviewwebpart through SPD 2010 and when asked if I want to show a specific list or parent path I choose specfic. I then import the webpart file on another site and this show the list perfect with ribbon and everything. But when I click the social tagging & notes I get a new popup with a error message in: "The page you selected contains a list that does not exist.  It may have been deleted by another user.<nativehr>0x81020026</nativehr><nativestack></nativestack>" This is the same error that I get if I try to import a xsltlistviewwebpart without making the correct export. If I click this button on the original listview I dont get the error and I can add tags. The same problems goes for the I like button.Findwise AB

I get an error whe I try to delete a row from a list in a SP 2003 site

Hello Everyone, I have a customer who is having problems with an SP 2003 site. Here is what the concern is: I have a list on an SP 2003 site... and I am attempting to delete a row from the list... To do that I am setting the list in "Datasheet view". I select the row, right click and select the "delete" option from the menu and delete the row. Then when I click on the "Show in Standard View" button, I get the following error: "An unexpected error has occured. Changes to your data cannot be saved. For this error, you can retry or discard your changes". When I retry, it says the same error msg... Then I have to discard my changes, and I am not successful in deleting the row. Please can someone help with this request? Regards, Reshma

Programmatically creating a cross list XsltListViewWebPart

Hi, Does anyone know how to create a cross list XsltListViewWebPart in code? I can create a XsltListViewWebPart for a single list no problem. But if I don't set the ListId property and set the DataSourceMode to  SPDataSourceMode.CrossList I always get the error "Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.WebPartPageUserException : List View Web Part could not be added, list may be hidden.". I can't find much documentation on it. Does anyone have an idea how to get this to work? Thanks a lot,   Dan

Creating a Site Column that Looks up an External List causes error when saving site as a template.

I'm not sure what the best practice is here, but I'm having a major issue trying to save sites as templates and I think I narrowed it down as to what the issue is.

When I try to save a site as a template, it creates the solution package, but it doesn't activate it.  When I try to activate it manually, I get the following error:

Feature definition with Id e9431ed5-27b1-4c33-9eeb-81b4ace9d372 failed validation, file 'test1ListInstances\ElementsFields.xml', line 481, character 231: The 'SystemInstance' attribute is not allowed.

I opened up the solution package and looked at the ElementsFields.xml file.  I traced the line to this:

<Field Type="BusinessData" DisplayName="Acme People Name" Required="FALSE" EnforceUniqueValues="FALSE" Group="Custom Columns" ID="{55b3bbba-a7e3-4698-9946-648a6b726e9e}" SourceID="{026904fd-f2d0-4e57-a239-c6da838458fa}" StaticName="Acme_x0020_People_x0020_Name" Name="Acme_x0020_People_x0020_Name" SystemInstance="ACME" EntityNamespace="http://????????:28241" EntityName="People" BdcField="FullName" Profile="" HasActions="True" SecondaryFieldBdcNames="0" RelatedF

Cross site lookup field value contains the parent list item id and the title field separated by ;# i

Actually we are using third party component for cross site lookup and facing the problem with cross site lookup field value. Its showing the correct value in default list view mode, but in "Edit in Datasheet" and "Export to Datasheet" view cross site lookup field value contains the parent list item id and the title field separated by ;#. I need the actual value in "Edit in Datasheet" and "Export to Datasheet" view as shown in default list value, i dont want that appended parent list item id and separated by ;#.

Is there any OutOfBox soluiton for this. Please suggest me for the same.

WSS 3.0 Cross Site-Collection List Lookup

Hi all

New to Sharepoint here, so apologies if the question is unclear.

We would like to store centralised reference data in a dedicated site-collection and allow it to be accessed from other site-collections using list lookups. Can anyone recommend a webpart that would allow us to do this? I've found lots of cross-site list webparts, but not for crossing SC boundaries. Is there an OOTB feature that we could extend to achieve the same thing?

Server out of memory error in a LIST (anonymous site) that has eventhandlers

Scenario: We have a sharepoint site on wss 3.0 set to anonymous access. It has couple of lists and the pages render fine to any user. The moment I associated eventhandler to a list, started getting 'server out of memory'. Removing eventhandlers works fine but without eventhandlers I can't write business logic.

Searched so far and found that people have suggested to use guest account or some other account. Still looking into this so far.

Does anyone has better resolutions? Has Microsoft released any solution / hofix so far?

cross-site list lookup using sharepoint 2010

Hi All,

Just want to ask how can I cross-site list lookup using sharepoint 2010.

I’ve created two Sites. TestSite1 that has a list called List1 and TestSite2 that has a list called List2. The problem is when I tried to create a lookup column in List2 so I could see the List column in TestSite1 I could not find it.

How can I do this using the OOTB SharePoint 2010?

Thank you in advance.

Cross-site list rollup with DataViewWebPart?

I have two subsites with two lists.  I want the parent site to contain an .aspx page with a DataViewWebPart that pulls in (rolls up?) the data from the two lists into one list.  Is this possible?  I am on MOSS 2007 and can use Designer.  I did a Google search, but didn't come up with a tutorial.  If anyone could recommend one, I'd be grateful.
There are no mistakes; every result tells you something of value about what your are trying to accomplish.
