Having talked to thousands of developers who use the Microsoft . NET Framework, I've heard one consistent complaint: "I really wish all the samples were written in my programming language. " Nothing is more frustrating than having braved the wilds of Internet searches for a snippet of code that does exactly what you want but is written in a language you don't use.

I have built a site that I am using google maps on. The default page has a google map with info windows containing links and all works great... until a user clicks on the link in the info window. Doing so takes them to a community page that I have built. On this community page, I have an ajax update panel that has 2 panels nested inside of it with the visibility set for one to be on and the other off. The default panel shows community photos, and the second panel I want to show the google map and common directions to the community. In testing, my buttons to switch the visibility of the panels works great as it should without postback, but when I try to add the map to its panel, it does not show up. I am new to ajax as well as google maps and I'm not sure why the same code would work fine on my default page but not the community page. The only obvious thing I can assume is because the community page map is in an update panel.
How do you insert a google map into and ajax updatepanel and have it work correctly? Many thanks in advance.
I am trying to put together an image gallery display. I am guessing it will need to be a customer control but I am not sure. So I figured I would ask on the best way to approach this. When the gallery is loaded I want to have one image displayed with thumbs underneath. On the right side I would like to display EXIF data and underneath that a small google map if there is geolocation tagged with the picture. I figure I will probably need to store the gallery info in a database with caption and description. Maybe even searchable tags if I get cheeky later.
So should I be using an ajax gallery to display the images and if so how to pass the EXIF and geolocation to the other controls? Or do i pull in all the info into some sort of dataset and then parse it out to a custom control. I am still fairly new to ASP but I have a fairly good understanding. Should be an intersting project if nothing else. Any thoughts.
I have a textbox and what I would like to implement is basically a situation similar to what you have in google when you type in a word. In otherwords,
I am wondering if there is a way to ingest google search index into SharePoint index such that when people search via SharePoint they see the Google results too… incorporated/federated inline with the SP results (not as a separate "box"
We have Google search in our environment and also share-point search. Share-point search for sharepoint site but Google search is for all other environments. Now i am thinking if we ingest the Google search index into share-point then may be its great deal
to provide user a platform to search everything on one place.
We are trying to replicate a feature in sharepoint search that the Google Search Appliance has called "Keyword Match". You choose a keyword or phrase and map it to a url. When a user searches with that keyword or phrase the result link that
you've matched it to comes up first in the list of results. I'm trying to find a similar feature like this in Sharepoint OOTB search web parts. Can you advise? Thank you!
