Blank Managing My Links Page for Just One User

I've got a single user who's not able to manage his links in MOSS 2007. The links I speak of are gotting to via http://<<your:mysite>>/_layouts/myquicklinks.aspx. Other users have no issue.

I read somewhere that this might be caused by the user in question having added an improperly formated link. My issue is how can I check for that condition and correct it? Any thoughst would be much appreciated.

Extremely Slow Page Loads

Thought I would reach out to the experts and see if anybody might be able to point me in a direction as I do not know where to turn next. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. All of a sudden page load times on the primary web app in my SP2007 farm are extremely slow. Making the site almost unusable. Network performance seems fine as does SQL -- no obvious errors in the logs. The problem happens intermittently. Environment: •  Win2k3 SP2 servers    •  1 WFE (VM)        •  SharePoint 2007 SP2 w/ JUN 2010 cumulative update installed.        •  Most recent WU patches applied about 10 days ago (suspected cause?)      •  1 SQL 2005 (metal)        •  The content database is 20.7 GB, so it fall withing BPs.         •  My DBA has said the DBs do not look overly fragnmented •  1 site collection •  4 web apps •  The VM environment is VMWare vSphere. Search indexing (full) is disabled; All app pools have been recycled; Warmup scripts have been run; and the server has been been rebooted. Have anyone run across anything like this before? Can you point me in a direction? Thanks in advance.

Master Page show/hide links

Hello,        I'm fairly new to mvc and I'm just looking for a best practice on hiding action links in the master page depending on the user logged in. Since the master page doesn't receive a model I'm not sure how to pull this off the right(MVC) way. Thanks

Copy table (with content and links) from one page to another

Hi, I'm new to sharepoint and learning this software on my own.  I'm running WinXP Professional.  I've created a table on one page in a subfolder/directory (10Kgold) and would like to use the same table on a page in a different subfolder (24Kgold).  Both subfolders are in the same root folder.  Here are the steps I took: On 10kgold/bracelets.aspx page: right-click on element to copy --> select Copy On 24kgold/bracelets.aspx page: right-click --> Paste On the 24kgold/bracelets page, the "Paste" option was disabled, so then I knew I wouldn't be able to copy/paste the table I copied from 10K gold/bracelets page. I don't want to recreate this table again if I don't have to. Also, I've tried to copy and paste links within the same page, but that doesn't work either. Here are the steps: Select link (yellow-gold) on 10kgold/bracelets page: right-click --> Copy Scroll to where I want to paste the link Right-click (yellow-gold) on 24kgold/bracelets page: --> Paste Is there a way to copy and paste links and tables, etc. from one page to another, with the page/s being in either the same subfolder and/or a different subfolder as long as they are within the same root folder? Thanks in advance for your help.

Getting connection error to a database when page loads...occasionally...

So occasionally after a run to the database I am getting the following error;

A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.)

It always happens after this query is executed during a page Load:

Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
        myconnection = New SqlConnection("Data Source=.\SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename=|DataDirectory|\Database.mdf;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True")
        myda = New SqlDataAdapter("Select * from diaryDates", myconnection)
        myda.Fill(ds, "diaryDates")
    End Sub

What does the error mean and how can I resolve it ?

MOSS 2007 Intranet Home page "My Links" suddenly missing. "My Site" is there.

Hi all,

If anyone has seen this issue, or is aware of it, your help is appreciated it.

Our intranet homepage is suddenly missing the "My Links" link on the top right corner.  The welcome message and "My Site" shows up.  When I click on "My Site" and it takes me to my profile, I can see the "My Links" on that page.

However, it is no longer showing on the homepage.  This is the case for all users.

How can I re-enable it or make it show on the homepage again?  Anyone know what would have caused it to suddenly disappear?  We have not been making any changes to the home page or the intranet.

Changing the graphics on the home page of a SharePoint site

When you create a site in Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services by using the default Team Site template, the home page includes two default graphics. A Windows SharePoint Services graphic appears in the body of the page, and a picture of a house in a circle appears near the site title. You can change these graphics to customize your site. Changing the smaller graphic requires a Windows SharePoint Services compatible Web page editor
