I'm using Request.PathInfo to response.redirect as user to a different page ( based on the content after .aspx ). It redirect just fine however, once redirected, the page loses all content from the master page and the CSS link. I've searched and can't find an answer.
Does anyone have a solution for this?

I just want to know how can I put a file downloadable link on aspx web page.
I mean if I want to put a audio file to download which I have in a folder on server, how can a link could refer to that file, for the user to download it or listen online?
Thanks in advance for helps.
its working fine. But its showing me JS error with my custom master page. What could be the reason?
Its very urgent. Please response.
I would like to present users with unique content based on certain conditions being met as they land on the home page (default.aspx). The condition logic will be in the VB code behind Page Load event. The content will go in a content placeholder as specificed from the master page.
However, the content change wouldn't be something small (ie making a panel or label visible or not) but rather it will be different HTML, Divs and databound gridview content. The HTML content will be stored in the database.
Can someone point me in the right direction for best practices on how to accomplish this?
My organization uses a CMD file to install updated files for a major enterprise application. Currently, we send out an email to users with a link to the file and instructions to run it, BUT inevitably users don't update their machines until their in field and try to start the app.
We're now liking the idea of using an ASPX page to prompt the users to run the updates and to capture the fact that the updates have been run. I realize that we can't capture the success or failure of the update. But we'd like to capture the user accessed the page.
Is it possible to embed into the markup for the page a link to the file on the local intranet that the users can click on to run the file?
The user accessing the page would capture that they did just that. We'd deal with wether or not the update was actually installed or if it failed later with them directly.
I usually work with windows forms, and am just starting to work with ASP.Net, so appologies if this is a dumb question!
I have a master page which has a search button on it. The results of this are built up using a Linq statement and if there are any results, I want to display the results in a contents page.
On the masterpage, I have the following code:
Public Overridable ReadOnly Property SearchRes()
Private Sub DoSearch()
'some code to get a linq result
If res.Any Then
_res = res
LabelNoRes.Visible = True
On the SearchResults.aspx page I have this code.
Dim m As pxSite = CType(Page.Master, MasterPage)
If m.SearchRes IsNot Nothing Then
Label1.Text = "Results found = " & m.SearchRes.Count
m.searchRes is always nothing.
What am I doing wrong here?
Here is the content page:
I have Resource file...
I am using following code for Display Lable Text...
and I want to use that name for page title...
so I used "me.page.resources.resource.NAME" in code behind page.
but I want to use that NAME in
iam using master page and i am using update panel in content pages (child pages)
my questions is that can use updatepanel in every child page or master page only.
give ur suggestions, i have senario , in a page i have file upload concept ,updatepanel
is not support that fileupload.
I have a text input to get a 'roomID' and an ASP button that calls an 'enterRoom' function:
roomID:<asp:TextBox runat="server" ID="roomID"></asp:TextBox>
<asp:Button ID="Button1" runat="server" Text="Enter Room!" OnClick="enterRoom" />
Sub enterRoom(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
Server.Transfer("users/room.aspx?roomID=" & Request.Form("roomID"))
I am trying to understand where the additional file name is coming from in my Page directives Inherits
attribute like so :
inherits ="Track_Milestones2, App_Web_techsrvcs_track_milestones2.aspx.cdcab7d2"
Is the result of this app being published on my local server at one time or could this
page have been compiled on a server ?
Thanks for your insights !
One of the user got My owa link in place of my site on the my home page ( go to my site --> my home --> top right corner shows My owa insead of my site ) and he wants to edit that my owa link now. first of all i dont know how he got that
My owa link in the place of my site on my home page. When he surfs any other page than he is getting my site on all other pages. so he is just getting My owa link in place of my site only on the my home page.
At the first glanse, i think it would be master page issue but if that would be the case than it shold apply all the users but this is happening just for one user and we are not using custom master page.
I have a infopath 2007 browser enabled form with c# code behind . The Infopath form is embeded\hosted in to a custom layouts page (.aspx) on MOSS 2007. The issue is when users use keyboard to fill the form, they often use <TAB> &
<Enter> keys. So when they are using the tabbing at one location in the form, I have a "Contact selector" field, I enter a name & then hit <TAB> key the focus now comes to "name cheker" I then hit <Enter> key, I hit <TAB> again,
the focus now comes to a button named "Accept", I hit <Enter> key & a filed below is populated with the values from user profile service. Now when I hit <TAB> I expect the focus should now come to that automatically populated field below the
"Contact selctor". Because Infopath assings the tab order by default form top to bottom & left to right and I havent changed that default tab order.
But, the focus moves to top of the webpage with a clickable link to "Turn on more accessible mode" I hit tab one more time & the link on top changes to "Skip to main content". This bheaviour does not seem to be happning in other form controls when they
hit <Tab>, <Enter>. There are couple of areas on the infopath form where I have such a controls (layed ou
