Cannot create email alerts for multiple users

Hello, I created an email alert for a document in a library. In the "Send Alerts To" box, I added multiple user names separated by semicolons and saved the alert. However, when I open the alert again, only my user name appears and the additional user names are gone. Why is this happening and how do I fix this problem?  Thank you in advance.

how do I create email reminders for multiple tasks with a secondary workflow?


I need some advice regarding a issue I picked up during the creation of a secondary workflow to be used for email reminders. I created the workflows in sharepoint designer 2007.

Current situation;

I have a complex primary workflow that creates multiple tasks (about 9 tasks). Its important to note that these tasks get created in sequence. Therefore a task will only be created once the previous task has been completed (It's pretty much an approval workflow). Maybe I should also mention that I disabled the automatic task email notifications and replaced them with send email actions in my primary workflow (this should, however, not relate to my problem).

My Problem;

I created a secondary workflow to handle the email reminders. However, the email reminders only seem to work for the first task (task 1 ) created in the primary workflow. This is the steps I created;

1) First I checked that I'm going to send the reminders for the tasks created by the primary workflow, by verify the primary workflow name in a condition.

2) Once I verified the primary workflow I added the reminder time to the Created date of

Hi everyone

I have a problem with a workflow.

I use MOSS 2007 RTM
I have a custom sharepoint list with several columns where one (lets call it MailRecipients) are of the type 'Person or Group' with the property 'Allow multiple selections' set to 'yes' - this works fine, and I can create items, select multiple users from AD and so on.

Then i create a workflow using Sharepoint Designer 2007 and uses the action 'Send mail'.
I then want to send a mail to all the people selected in the column 'MailRecipients', but this column isn't present when I try to selected the column for the 'To' field in my workflow.
When I disable the proptery 'Allow multiple selections', there are no problem using the column in the To field in the Workflow

How will I be able to use the People or Group column (with 'Allow multiple selections' enabled) as a 'To' value in a workflow 'Send Email' action.?
I've tried making my own Custom Workflow action but have serious problems with this. Keep trying though!

Hope anyone have more experience with this part of MOSS 2007

Setup alerts for multiple users



I am trying to figure out how to manage alerts for users of a Sharepoint site collection...

Essentially, we have a site collection - one main site and many subsites. Each subsite relates to a specific customer account. We have assigned various salespersons access to the sites based on what customer account they are assigned to. We are just using the site visitors group for this. In each one of these (sub)sites, we have 5 document libraries. What I would like to do is find an easy way where I can setup alerts so that if anything changes in any of the document libraries in subsite "A", that all users in the Site Visitors group will receive an alert (and so on for all of the sites). While we can certainly instruct the salespersons to add their own alerts for each of the libraries in each of the sites they have access to, this is perceived as very cumbersome.

Does anyone know of a way to manage (add/change/delete) alerts for users at a site level?

I am using the asp.net membership. 

On my site I have a Profile.aspx page.

In the code behind of this page,  i get the logged in UserId (Guid) and pass

this to a method in my DAL. GetUserByUserId()


In my database I have a Table called Member which the method gets the data from

and displays details on the page about  the user.


What I want to happen is when they have logged in and are diverted to Profile.aspx,

the page URL shows www.MyWebSite/Profile/UsersName 

for example



is this possible. In my Member table I have FirstName and LastName columns or do I get the

name from the membership table.


even better would be they go straight to www.MyWebsite/JohnSmith.aspx

how to write a stored proc to prevent multiple users in uploading the reports at a time? plsss help



I wanted to know how to prevent more than one user from uploading the report at a time .I am new to .net ,plss help with the code that would be great.Details are below:

This is a Windos based app written in c# . When User A  clicks Upload option on  one server  from the menu  to upload the files  and at the same time when User B clicks Upload option on different server , User B should be alerted a message saying "User A's uploading is in progress,pls wait" . How to achieve this, plsss help with the code.. I am thinking this logic should be kept in a stored proc, How do I write that proc? plss help

I need help creating a custom data field using the BDC column as a base.  We need to allow for multiple selected values instead of just a single one.  I can't find anything on the net which shows how to do this.

Users not receiving alerts


At some point over the last 2 weeks, the alert functionality in our MOSS 2007 environment stopped working.  Users will receive the "You have setup a new alert" email when configuring a new Alert, but not any actual alerts when an item is added/changed.  I investigated the Timer Service on the front end web server and noticed it was Stopped.  I restarted the Service and some of the users received upwards of 200 backlogged alerts.

I can understand why the user received so many alerts, these would be the alerts that SHOULD have been sent over the last 2 weeks.  I just wanted to make sure that this is normal behavior.  If the service fails, then the alert emails are set to a type of "pending" status until the service is restarted?  Is this accurate or am I misunderstanding something.

How to send Viewers email alerts on approved items



I use the OOB Workflow approval to approve items in a document library. Once the items are approved I want to send out an email alert to a group of people with "read" access. The problem is that the email alerts don't fire. I even changed the alerts to fire on "All Changes", but still nothing coming through. I assume this is because of the workflow approval and perhaps that the event doesn't fire when an item gets published after approval?

But how can I get my readers to be notified of newly published (and approved) items? There must be a way of doing it?

Hi All,I have a main website say www.main.com which is developed in asp.net. We have used forms authetications here.Now the thing is I have a no of subdomains on the same server say domain1.main.com, domain2.main.com, domain3.main.com etc.I had put some functionality there. send email to all users with certain rights

Hello,  I'm using Sharepoint Designer and Foundation 2010. I am a new admin and appreciate all the help I can get.  Here's what I'm trying to do.   I have several business workflows that call for notifying the users of a particular site. Rather than set the workflow to email specific users or even a group of users, I'd like to set the workflow to email anyone within a certain rights level. What are my options when I need to create a report with data from multiple sources?

Hello all,  What are my options when I want to create a report that will get records from multiple data sources based on data from a parameter? The user will enter the customer ID, I have to check that ID against 5 different data sources. Have you guys done anything similar? Should I leverage SSIS on this request, adding an extra layer of complexity? Should I do this all from SSRS? What are my options?
