Bad quality after resize jpeg

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 21, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Hi,

I wrote code that resize my photo to thumbnail (100x100px). The thumbnail is ok (is blur) on serwer (Windows Serwer 2008 x64) and the thumbnail is very bad (no blur and pixels are big) on serwer (Windows Serwer 2008 x86). Both serwers have framework .net 4.0.

I wrote code on VS 2010.

Below is my code:

public static void MakeThumbnail(string path, string prefix, string filename, Stream stream, string mime, int fixedWidth, int fixedHeight, bool allowCrop)
{
string newFullname = path + "\\" + prefix + filename;

//oryginalny obrazek
Image sourceOriginalImage = Image.FromStream(stream);

int width = sourceOriginalImage.Width;
int height = sourceOriginalImage.Height;

double widthD = Convert.ToDouble(width);
double heightD = Convert.ToDouble(height);
double fixedWidthD = Convert.ToDouble(fixedWidth);
double fixedHeightD = Convert.ToDouble(fixedHeight);

int newWidth = 0;
int newHeight = 0;

int cropX = 0;
int cropY = 0;

newWidth = fixedWidth;
newHeight = (int)(fixedWidthD / Xp);
cropY = Convert.ToInt32((newHeight -

Easy image processing(grayscale, sepia, negative, resize, brightness, contrast and opacity)

Howdie y'all,

I see a lot of questions in this forum about resizing images. Recently I created a code sample(with downloadable webapp), right here.

The class (downloaded or created) allows for very fast and easy processing of your images. And a lot of problems over here can be solved by simply using that class. I thought it might help to mention the code sample in this forum as well.

Cheers,

Convert MOV to FLV on Mac OS X with highest quality possible

Convert MOV to FLV on Mac OS X with highest quality possible Recently I trying to convert 1080i60 MOV video files exported from Final Cut Express with high quality settings to 320x240 FLV files so that I could put them onto my websites. The tool I was using was video2swf, but the quality of the converted files is terrible, even with the quality at 100 and the bitrate set anywhere between 256 to an excessive 1024. Basically, the FLV looks like something you'd see at 70 quality, no matter what the bitrate, and even if I try the 2 pass method. Have you got the same issues like me? In order to solve it, I tried another alternative tool for OS X called Moyea Video Converter for Mac  which is powerful to help me convert MOV to FLV at a video of 256 at 320x240 at 30fps with perfect output quality. If you just look for this kind of program to help you convert MOV to FLV, the following solution I finally found out may be greatly helpful for you. Preparation: Free download Moyea Video Converter for Mac  here, install and run it. Step 1: Add MOV files into this program Step 2: Set output format and location After all the MOV files are loaded, you can select the output format as FLV from the drop-down list "Format" as well as set the destination folder from the "Output", if not, the output files will be saved in the default path automatically. Visual Studio: Microsoft should simplify producing quality software

I am looking at features of different versions of Visual Studio and I less and less understand how and why is the quality of software handled as fun of few seasoned professionals. Although Visual Studio is best development platform I have ever seen I really don't understand why Microsoft hates people who want to provide quality to their customers. Usually n00bs and start-ups start with minimum versions to get their work done. Many of them start with some version of Visual Studio Express or cheapest one of the full versions. These products have this far caused me hell load of problems because specially n00bs have no way how to control or measure the quality of their work. n00bs make also a lot of stupid mistakes and they need some way to rollback those mistakes. And don't forget how many other mistakes n00bs can make. Now let's put it all together and see how hard is for n00bs to get started their professional life on Visual Studio. No advanced debugging - there is IntelliTrace but not for guys who need it at first years almost every day. They have to waste their and their seniors time to get mysteries solved. I need IntelliTrace rarely because usually stack trace of Exception is enough for me. But I have seen n00bs who try to debug their applications using only message part of exceptions. IntelliTrace is only available with Visual Studio Ultimate. No versioning suppor
