Hi folks, about 1,5 months ago I have set up a - 1 server - development environment for PS2007. I had installed all components on one Windows 2008 box. Everything worked fine, now I receive an error. MOSS 2007 SQL 2008 SP1 MOPS 2007 SP2 I have done the additional installation for the cube building part according to this page http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd285466(office.12).aspx Microsoft SQL Server Native Client (sqlncli.msi) Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Management Objects Collection (sqlserver2005_xmo.msi) Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Backwards Compatibility Components (SQLServer2005_BC.msi) Everything worked fine. Cubes were able to be built.. everything was good. In order to have Reports built I added SSRS 2008 Reporting Services Addin for MOSS (rsSharePoint_x64) Business Intelligence Development Studio (=Visual Studio for MSSQL) No CUs have been added to this box. NOW, Cube creation fails with the error: ULS LOG: [CBS] ProjectServerOlapCubeGenerator status: Analysis Services session failed with the following error: Failed to connect to the Analysis Services server <IPADDRESS>. cube deployment fails- A duplicate attribute key has been found when processing

I am trying to create a cube using the same process that I always do. however this time I get an error message "Warning 4 Errors in the OLAP storage engine: A duplicate attribute key has been found when processing: Table: 'dbo_ALL_ResultsNewest', Column: 'MktCapGroup', Value: ''. The attribute is 'Mkt Cap Group'.  0 0
This is using alot of data but I have created similar size cubes before. I create simple cubes with a single dimension and all the attributes related to a single master attribute. I am a data analyst, not a technologist and don;t have any real understanding of cube internals beyond the basics.

XMLA for Cube Processing fails when called from SQL Agent Job

Hi

I have some XMLA which runs fine in SSMS, but fails when called as a step in an agent job. Here is the XMLA:

  <Process xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/analysisservices/2003/engine">
      <Object>
        <DatabaseID>MyCube</DatabaseID>
      </Object>
      <Type>ProcessFull</Type>
      <WriteBackTableCreation>UseExisting</WriteBackTableCreation>
    </Process>

And here is the error from SQL Agent:

An exception (0xe0434f4d) occurred in the ANALYSISCOMMAND subsystem.  The step failed.

I am running this on SQL 2005 SP3 Developer Edition. I have even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the instance. The PC also has SQL 2008 instances installed (I'm not sure it that is relevant or not). I can get the SQL Agent job working fine on SQL 2008 and another SQL 2005 box.

Can anyone help?

Julia.

VS Workflow creation fails to be created on one site

This is a long shot, there must be many reasons for the failure

Its a 2007 site recently upgraded using database attach.

When I try to create any sort of workflow on a particular site VS2010 asks for the site name then the dialog box disappears with no error message.

  • Can create all other project types on this site
  • Site opens OK in browser and SP designer
  • Can create workflows on subsites

Anyone else experienced the same?

Thanks,

casey

Problem in cube creation

Following the link, http://www.sqlcoffee.com/AnalysisServices_0001.htm

i successfully did finished with the project using Adventure DB.

But when tried to make a cube using other DB, its not succeeding.

Like , during the creation of Cube, the main fields including key fields used to link tables were not appearing in the 'Select Measures' page.

Ex. there are 6 tables.

Invoice, InvoiceRow, Customer, Items, CustomerGroup, ItemGroup.

The links are like

Invoice.InvNum = InvoiceRow.InvNum

Invoice.Cus = Customer.Code

InvoiceRow.Item = Items.Code

Customer.GrpCode = CustomerGroup.Code

Items.GrpCode = ItemGroup.Code

the following fields are not appearing in the measures list,

Invoice.CusName, Invoice.InvNum, Customer.Name, CustomerGroup.Name, Items.Name, ItemGroup.Name.

Is there any where im going wrong ??

Please Advice....

Need help regarding C# / AJAX Dynamic Controls creation

radiobuttons is assigned before page init..

public partial class Default : System.Web.UI.Page
{
//Assign values as a specific Dynamic WebControl Creation.
List<RadioButton> radioButtons = new List<RadioButton>();
List<CheckBox> checkBoxes = new List<CheckBox>();

Then I created a class that would dynamically create a table containing the available flights depending on session.. (See CallPageLoad())

The placeholder and button is inside the UpdatePanel...

on the button inside the update panel, (btnSelect)

i have this code which works...

protected void btnSelect_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{

Label1.Text = Convert.ToString(radioButtons.Count);

It detects the number of radiobuttons that were dynamically created...

But when I use the following code inside the BtnSelectClick event...

//PLS HELP.......
foreach (RadioButton button in radioButtons)
{
if (button.Checked == true)
{
Label1.Text = "You select... " + button;

CallPageLoad();

ToggleDebugCompilation fails trying to perform "an unauthorised operation"

Hi,

We're having a problem with the Visual Studio 2008 RTW version of the web deployment projects on a colleagues machine. The project works fine if I run it on my machine, but when he tries to run it on his machine he gets:

<SNIP : Most output removed>
  Task "Exec"
    Command:
    if exist ".\TempBuildDir\" rd /s /q ".\TempBuildDir\"
  Done executing task "Exec".
  Using "ToggleDebugCompilation" task from assembly "C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\WebDeployment\v9.0\Microsoft.WebDeployment.Tasks.dll".
  Task "ToggleDebugCompilation"

    C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\WebDeployment\v9.0\Microsoft.WebDeployment.targets(639,7): error MSB4018: The "ToggleDebugCompilation" task failed unexpectedly.

ArrayList.ToArray fails!

In my app, I have code similar to the following:

          try

          {

               ArrayList alStartFrames = new ArrayList();
                byte[] abytTest = { 1, 2 };

                alStartFrames.Add(abytTest);

                byte[] abytCombinedFrame = (byte[])alStartFrames.ToArray(typeof(byte));
            }

            catch (Exception ex)
            {
                Response.Write(ex.Message);
            }

The call to ToArray always fails and the exception is caught even though I'm pretty sure alStartFrames is an array list of byte arrays. Anyone have any insight on why this is happening?! TIA

SQL/MTS: Automating the Creation of COM+ Components for a Database Schema

Using Microsoft Windows DNA architecture as a guideline, it's possible to create scalable multitier database applications with COM+ and Microsoft Transaction Services. In fact, you can use existing table definitions to automatically build the MTS/COM+ business logic layer and data access components for your application. This article will walk you through the development of database transactions by mapping the transactions to automatically generated MTS/COM+ components. This technique can greatly simplify the task of creating components for a large project.

routing fails

Hi,

I am trying to compile and run an asp.net application and am getting the following errors

 HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

I have a starting URL of http://localhost:61431/WebSuds/Suds/Welcome and routing code

       routes.MapRoute(

"Default",                                 // Route name

"{controller}/{action}/{page}",            // URL with parameters

new { controller = "Suds", action = "Welcome",

Association creation error

In the dbml Designer surface in VS2010, I am associating two views from a database which I am only granted for View access.

The View1 has
  Site (smallint, not null)
  LocationID (int, not null)

The View2 has
  Site (int, not null)
  LocationID (int, not null)

Due to the incompatible types between this two, the association can not be created.  Is there other way to create the association, such as cast(View1.Site as int) in the assocation?

MySite creation never completes

Our moss 2007 SP2 farm currently won't create any My Sites.  When a new user visits my.domain.com they get the "Please wait while your personal site is setup for the first time and the default document libraries and lists are created.  This may take several seconds." message but it just sits there forever.

I'm not sure when it stopped working as we only really create new accounts at certain periods during the year - it was working 6 months ago.

I can't find any log messages about the creation/failure - any tips on where to look?

Thanks

Using Infopath form fieldnames in a workflow fails

Hi,

I designed a form in Infopath and I published it on a SP2007 server to use in a workflow in a library. That goes fine. In the workflow I send an email message. I can use the fields from my Infopath form in the message that I create.
If the workfow is starts, Shrepoints sends me the message. But it does not use the fields from my InfoPtah form in the message in stead I see questionmarks.

Why doesn't it show the fields?

I alse saw (maybe this makes it clear) that when I let it dipslay the URL in the message, it show: http://1.portal.lucasonderwijs, but the actual site is whithout the "1" and it should also start with https://

Has anyone seen this before?

Thank you,

Ronald

Crawler fails to register date properties of user profiles with the month of January, April, August

This seems to be a bug when the crawler search the user profiles in MOSS 2007.  When crawled, user profiles with a SPS-HireDate in the months of January, April, August and December will be detected, but a full-text (SQL) search returns those profiles without the HireDate field.

User profiles with HireDates in other months work correctly, returning the HireDate in the search.  And changing the month of a problematic user profile also fixes the problem.

This problem is also reflected in the fact that while we have 499 user profiles using the SPS-HireDate property,  the managed property page from the search section only has 350 items with the HireDate property.

We're running MOSS 2007 32bit with SP2 with an English language base and the Spanish language pack. I'd considered date format problems, but I can't imagine how some months would work, while others wouldn't.

Any ideas?
