Report links not working

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 03, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server
Hi   I've biult a couple of very basic reports which link to each other. They show staff permissions and name. One report lets you select a permission and will then display all users with that permission and the other lets you select a person and it will display all their permissions The reports use the same stored procedure and both link fine in the preview environment but the one linking from the list of people to the list of permissions doesn't work when deployed. Both parameters are the same type and in both cases I pass the word all for the field I want a list of. Any ideas why this would work in the preview but not when deployed?

Crystal Report viewer navigation buttons not working

Working in Visual Studio 2008 and using the packaged Cystal Reports (version 10.5). I have a couple pages that use the Crystal Reports Viewer to display the reports, and I use the CRV navigation buttons to page through large reports. Problem: The Next button only goes to page 2. The Previous button goes to Page 1 every time. I've read that this is because the binding of the report occurs in the Page_Load() and the CRV paging resets every time the report is rebinded. It was suggested to move this into Page_Init() which should only fire once, save the report in Session state, and then rebind on post backs. I've tried this, but my code never seems to reach the Page_Init(). In fact, I don't even see Page_Init() as an option. I've tried protected override OnInit(), but it fires every post back so that's no good. Does anyone have suggestions for a solution? Where is Page_Init() in Visual Studio 2008?  Thanks for any help.  -Robert

2008 Report not working on 2005 report server

Hello, I have been researching this issue and it seems if I have created a report using 2008, I cannot upload it to a 2005 report server.

I just wanted to check and see if I have any other options than to re-create the report using 2005? Would copy/paste of the XML from 2008 to 2005 work?

Thanks! Linda

property setting in report server (2008) config file is not working as expected.

I have set the <WorkingSetMinimum> property to 2.4GB in my reportserver 2008 config file.

By defintion, <WorkingSetMinimum> setting means,

  1. Lower limit of service memory consumption; memory will not be released if the consumption is below this amount, though the service will not reserve the designated amount of memory when it starts.
  2. If service uses more than the designated amout of memory, it will release back the memory only till this declared value and not beyond that, which means it should keep 2.4GB as designated.

links in the report change after deploment

Hi all,

I have convereted existing SSRS report (2005) to 2008 report and deployed it into Custom.ASP reporting portal. Now the all links in the report which are supposed to be underlinsed and blue are black and not underlined.

Those links can be seen as they are supposed to be when deploying to Report manager.

Does anyone know why this happen?

SSAS Calculated Member not working as expected in a SSRS report

Dear forum guys, I have a simple cube to analyze my customer's sales. I have a Time Dimension, a Product Dimension (with a few hierarchys) and a couple measures (sales and purchase amounts).

I also have defined a few Calculated Members, in particular the average sales and purchase amount over the last 12 months from the selected month.

I need to show the results in a SSRS Report: the user must select a month and the report needs to show the sales and purchase amount of the selected month and the average of the previous 12 months (both for sales and purchases).

Everything works perfectly if I test the cube using the Cube Browser or Excel 2007 as a client.

When I define the SSRS Report I cannot get to work with the calculated members (the average): I get strange numbers which are much higher than the real numbers.

I've tried both Matrix and Table reports.

Can anyone suggest me what I'm doing wrong: I think this should be a very common mistake.

Best regards

SQL Server 2008 Report Manager is not fully working

On Windows server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition, we have installed SQL server 2008 R2 Reporting services and SQL Server 2008 database with Reporting services.  Both have different instances.

Now, we can work with Report manager of SQL server 2008 R2 without any issue. i.e. assignment of new user role etc. is working fine, but when we try to do same thing with report manager of sql server 2008 then its not working. No error message is being shown by the report manager when we try to assign new user a role and press OK button it doesn't show any message.

What could be the problem?

Crystal Report Export and Print button not working inside UpdatePanel

Iuse UpdatePanel for my pages, clients requested to view pages without flickering.

So, I put all component in update panel, but after that, export and printing for Crystal Reports stoped to work. If I put report viewer outside of updatepanel its working.

Have anyone this problem? There's some solution for this?

Hey guys,

I am trying to build a report using the date field from CRM and only wanting to return the date I am using this expression "=Fields!new_date.Value.ToShortDateString()" but when there is an empty fiel I get #Error. How do I solve this?

Also is there anyway to return the date field with the actual month showing instead of the numerical value? i.e. instead of 1/31/2010 Have it show January 31, 2010 (Doesn't have to be exactly in that format, but want the name value for the month.)

Order by not working in SSRS report

Hi All,

I have created a report that sharing  two datasets  for displaying the data. This datasets are using Stored procedure for execution of the report.

One of the stored procedure using Order by clause and returning the data.

But on running the report , the report viewer displays the unsorted data of the filed. But if we run the stored procedure directly from the sql server , it will return the sorted data.

Could you please help me to resolve the issue?
