Image processing, determine white space and crop

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 21, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Hi,

I have created a image upload for our ID card system to allow users to upload new images, edit them and submit for approval.  This is all working well with a combination of asp.net (c#) and jquery to give a seemless editor etc.

We have had a few users who I cannot believe have scanned a photo of themself and then just submitted it with the A4 page of white and little photo.

I am wondering if anyone can help with a suggestion on how I could possibly reduce the load of these coming through (I can't believe they can be this stupid), it stipulates UK passport standards.

Would my only option be to check for a single continues colour that occurs and if it reaches a certain percentage point say 60% then to just send back an error stating they need to crop the image.

Can anyone help with providing sample or that I can use to move this one on.

I am still in disbelief on this one.  the other one is they take a photo of whole body and other in it and cut straight down middle chopping the people out but supplying a photo that no use for an id photo card....but that I can't imagine being solved programatically as I need to determine where their face dimensions are and what percentage of the actual photo is taken up by it and if it below a threshold reject it.

Easy image processing(grayscale, sepia, negative, resize, brightness, contrast and opacity)

Howdie y'all,

I see a lot of questions in this forum about resizing images. Recently I created a code sample(with downloadable webapp), right here.

The class (downloaded or created) allows for very fast and easy processing of your images. And a lot of problems over here can be solved by simply using that class. I thought it might help to mention the code sample in this forum as well.

Cheers,

Wes

select image , show image, crop image and then submit to server.

How do i do this using javascript, asp.net 3.5 and C# ?step 1) user selects the image using browse buttonstep 2) clicks on upload button -- when user clicks on upload button i have to show the image immediately before sending the image to server, because, 1) image size could be very large 2) image dimensions could be long where my application shud not accept.step 3) ask the user to select the region (like face) from the image, zoom in /zoom out step 4) click on submit button to send the selected region to the server and then save it on the server as image.I have seen couple of tools but are not useful to me.Is there any tool that follow these steps?I want to do the work @ client side, with which 1) i can reduce the amount of data transfer.2) user have the option of selecting the image and play around with it.any help would be highly appreciated.thankssuman

Image Processing project

hii everyone,

I want to develop an asp.net application, which deals with editing of any image.

I want my software to have following features -:

1. It should be able to detect the current properties of selected image like contrast,

brightness, hue, saturation, color and similar stuffs regarding an image.

2. It should be able to modify these properties of the selected image i.e. increasing/decreasing

    the brightness, hue and others.

Where should i begin from..?

Will SSRS 2008 eliminate white space due to hidden columns?

I have many reports that hide/show columns based on either parameters or user input.  When columns are hidden the body size is not recalculated and also cannot be set through expressions.  This leads to at best extra blank pages when reports are printed, at worst reports that cannot be embedded as subreports into other reports because they off-set the elements around them when the area into which they are inserted automatically resizes in rendering.  This should be considered a bug in the current release (2005).

Is there any chance of this making it into the new version (either that the renderer recalculates the body width or that expressions could be used in fields such as body width)?

How to remove the space for image in the Toolstripdropdownitem on the right side and the space on th

Hi! Everyone,

I have added a Toolstripcontrolhost with a own usercontrol to a Toolstripsplitbutton.dropdownItems. But there is always the space on the right and left side beside the toolstripcontrolhost. Has somebody any idea about how can i remove them?

I have set the margin and padding of the Toolstripsplitbutton.dropdownItems[index] to 0. But it doesn't help anything. I have also check other threads in this forum about the similar problem with contextmenu. But there is not such property like ShowShortCutKeys = false;
ShowCheckMargin = false;
ShowImageMargin = false; for Toolstripsplitbutton.dropdownItems[index] or for Toolstripsplitbutton.dropdown. Does somebody ever has that problem before?

Why are newly created Controls placed on an invisible Form turned ALL WHITE for the 'first image'

I have a project where I create a Form and place some Controls on it. This works fine. Then I make the Form invisible, remove the old Controls (via delete), then put on new Controls. When I make the Form visible again, the first 'image' of the Form has all the components there, but they are all PERFECTLY WHITE! This cause an brief but ugly white 'flash' when the Form is made visible. I can even put  breakpoint in my code where I've set up all the Components (with NON-white colors) placed on the Form and then made the Form visible... a breakpoint placed here shows a screen frozen with all WHITE shapes for the Controls. Note that the NEXT update all looks perfect!

screen shot:  http://www.peteroid.com/images/all_white.png

Also, when the Form is first created, it FADES in perfectly when it is made invisible for the FIRST time, it FADES out perfectly. When made visible again, the Form 'blinks' into existence with the 'white flash' for components I just mentioned.

I've tried moving where the Form is made visible in my code... I've tried doing (and not doing, and all combinations of doing and not-doing) Refresh() and Update() to the Form before it goes visible with no difference.

I can 'live' with this, but it seems odd that when the Form is ma
