Posted By:      Posted Date: September 03, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net
How do I deal with null values in this section it throws errors when they leave the field blank it is a small order form and they don't have too add data to all the fields .   comm.Parameters.Add("@item_9223", System.Data.SqlDbType.Int);                comm.Parameters["@item_9223"].Value = Int32.Parse(txtitem_9223.Text);                comm.Parameters.Add("@item_9129", System.Data.SqlDbType.Int);                comm.Parameters["@item_9129"].Value = Int32.Parse(txtitem_9129.Text);                comm.Parameters.Add("@item_42795", System.Data.SqlDbType.Int);                comm.Parameters["@item_42795"].Value = Int32.Parse(txtitem_42795.Text);                comm.Parameters.Add("@item_30695", System.Data.SqlDbType.Int);                comm.Parameters["@item_30695"].Value = Int3

Varchar string to int - how to convert empty cells to nulls

Hi, I have a large table from which I want to convert certain columns from varchar to int while loading the table to another table. However, I run into problems when the input column contains empty cells. The SSIS data conversion data flow item can't handle these so I tried the script component. With the script component I can convert these empty cells to zeros but after that I'd need to use SQL update to update the zeros to nulls which in the case of a large table with over 3 million rows takes unnecessarily long. So, is there another way?

Showing positive/negative sign in the output of Int32.ToString(string)

Hi,   Now this may be really simple but I'm unable to make it work or find it in MSDN. What is the format specifier for showing +/- sign of an Int32? I have tried "+0", "-0" and "+-0" and all of them give wrong results for either positive or negative or both kind of values. Note: The specifier should return "+0" for 0.

When all is done, he or she must click on submit button which in turn runs the code below.However, when this done the is an error ex    {"String or binary data would be truncated. The statement has been terminated."}. I would be grateful if someone could help me out to prevent the error.Thank you. statement with SQL_C_WCHAR returns 22001 string data, right truncation error

I am trying to execute the following code  value = L"Test13Digit++"; SQLPrepare(stmt, L"delete Entries where [type] = ?", SQL_NTS); SQLBindParameter(stmt, paramNumber, SQL_PARAM_INPUT, SQL_C_WCHAR, SQL_WVARCHAR, 100, 0, (SQLPOINTER) value.c_str(), 0, &strLen); SQLExecute(stmt); the table entries is as follows: Entries ([type] nvarchar(100), [key] nvarchar(100), [version] bigint, [data] varbinary(8000), CONSTRAINT PK_Entries PRIMARY KEY([type], [key]))   I keep getting the 22001 - string data, right truncation error. I have tried all different versions of WCHAR types but does not seem to help.

Error Message: String or binary data would be truncated. The statement has been terminated

I have the following problem.

When I edit a field in the SQL Server Management Studio Express then I get the following error:

Error Source: .Net SqlClient Data Provider
Error Message: String or binary data would be truncated.

The statement has been terminated

When I use the SQL update commando, it works fine.

Fore debugging we need to change the enabled field several times.

Is there a solution fore this?

The Table Layout

USE [Project]

/****** Object: Table [dbo].[Proces] Script Date: 06/02/2008 10:01:20 ******/

Object of type 'System.Int32' cannot be converted to type 'System.String

When i'm trying to update a table using dynamic data, i'm getting the following error. I was trying to google the solution for the whole day, but it didnt work. I tried to declare the type of parameters like this

<asp:LinqDataSource ID="DetailsDataSource" runat="server" EnableUpdate="true"
                onupdating="DetailsDataSource_Updating" > <UpdateParameters><asp:Parameter Name="PK_ID" Type="Int32" /><asp:Parameter Name="id" Type="Int32" />
                <asp:Parameter Name="c_titulu" Type="Int32" />
                <asp:Parameter Name="perio" Type="Int32" />

Parse BasicAuth string

What i'm wanting to do is parse a basic auth string (after it has been converted from base64).

so it would like something like:        domain\login:pass

also would it be able to put the segments into each group?

Also (side question), are there any recommended tools to be able to build regex strings?  I looked at expresso but it looks cumbersome.

Is there a way to generate the parse tree of an sql statement?

Is there a way for me to generate the parse tree of an sql statement?

Maybe by using some API that connects to the parser that SQL Server
uses or by using some sort of built in function or stored procedure.

I would like to take something like:
select * from foo where id = @theID

And turn it into something like
      <tables />
      <joins />

Its a very rough example but you get the idea.

SQL Connection String

We can learn or know how can we connect the database from our .net. This will help for freshers or .NET beginners!

Built-in Functions - String Functions

String functions let you extract various portions of character strings, change the case of strings, concatenate and reverse strings and perform many other types of manipulations. All built-in string functions are deterministic with the exception of CHARINDEX and PATINDEX

abstract away the source of the connection string using a class with a static property.

ASP.NET provides a configuration system we can use to keep our applications flexible at runtime. In this article we will examine some tips and best practices for using the configuration system for the best results.

The element of a web.config file is a place to store connection strings, server names, file paths, and other miscellaneous settings needed by an application to perform work. The items inside appSettings are items that need to be configurable depending upon the environment, for instance, any database connection strings will change as you move your application from a testing and staging server into production.

Let's abstract away the source of the connection string using a class with a static property.
