Zooming in on specified area on a Image control.

I have an ImageControl within a Grid, that displays an image I want to be able to zoom in on the area of the image where the mouse down occured - just to make that area more visible to the user - but the image as a whole should stay the same size within the control, How would I do that, I tried applying a scaleTransform but the image did not remain the same size - any suggestion?

Zooming a grouped listview item in WPF

I have a listview that is bound to a ListCollectionView containing my objects, grouped (by some object property such as a state, etc).  This results in the first row in the listview containing an expander, and the listview is populated with one column per state.   Each column can have varying numbers of items (rows) displayed based on how many objects match the field that the listview is being grouped by.  This seems to work OK for what I am trying to build.

I've added code so that when the mouse hovers over a listview item, I can use triggers to show / hide several buttons.  One example is an edit button - clicking on this brings up a window that allows me to edit the object.  Hovering over another button brings up a templated tooltip that I have customized.  This seems to work well.

But, I have a third button on this window.  The behavior for this button is what I am unable to get working.  When I hover over or click on this button (doesn't really matter), I want the listview item to scale by x% AND be brought to the front of any siblings next to it.  I have been unable to get this to work or find a similar example.

If I remove the step of having to interact with a button on the listviewitem, I can add a transform for the border on the listview item so that when

Using ASP.NET 3.5's ListView and DataPager Controls: Displaying Data with the ListView

Prior to ASP.NET 3.5, developers who needed to display a set of records could choose between the GridView, DataList, and Repeater controls. The GridView provides rich data features, but has a very boxy layout; the DataList and Repeater allow for a more flexible layout, but lack the "point and click" data features found in the GridView, DetailsView, and FormView controls. The ListView bridges the gap between layout flexibility and built-in data features.

This article, the first in a series of articles on the ListView and DataPager controls, looks at the ListView's many available templates and illustrates how to display data. Read on to learn more!

Built-in Functions - Text and Image Functions in SQL Server

Text and image functions operate on TEXT, NTEXT and IMAGE data types. These data types are deprecated with SQL Server 2005 and should be replaced by VARCHAR(MAX), NVARCHAR(MAX) and VARBINARY(MAX) when possible. Alternatively you can also consider storing large string values using XML data type. Text and image functions are nondeterministic.

Future versions of SQL Server will not support TEXT, NTEXT and IMAGE data types. Columns with TEXT / NTEXT data type do not support commonly used string functions such as LEN, LEFT, RIGHT, etc. Furthermore, due to the large size of TEXT data you''re likely to see performance issues if you store such data in the database. However, at times you can''t help but use the TEXT / NTEXT / IMAGE data types (for example when supporting 3rd party databases when you cannot change the schema) - this is when text and image functions come in handy.

Program for Format Conversion of An Image

.NET provides extensive support for image conversion. Any image can be processed from one format to another. Most common formats to which .NET have support for are .BMP, .EMF, .GIF, .ICO, .JPG, .PNG, .TIF and .WMF.

Configuring Profile Image Export in SharePoint 2010

It's no secret that I am thrilled with the new social features of SharePoint 2010. I am most excited about the new Profile Picture handling. I strongly believe that the more we can show the faces of our colleagues to one another the more connected we will feel. Clearly Microsoft feels that way as witnessed by the many features that make use of the Profile Image like the Activity Feed and Colleagues list

WPF Tutorial - Using The ListView, Part 1

Many of the controls in WPF have a downright dizzying array of capabilities and features, due in large part to the composibility of all the components. The ListView control is a great example of this - the possibilities are almost endless. This series of tutorials on the ListView will hopefully make the space of possible options seem not quite as daunting

ASP.Net Upload Image to MS Access Database

As you learnt from the previous articles to upload image to the SQL Database in ASP.Net 2.0 and stream that image into the memory to retrieve it from the database and display it on the web page. In this article you will learn how to upload images to the MS Access database in ASP.Net 2.0

First of all create an Access Database and place it in the App_Data folder of ASP.Net web site project. Then create a table "tblImg" with the following fields:

Get pixel format, raw format, property id list and property items image in VB.net - C#.net.

n this simple article you will learn that how we can get pixel format, raw format, property id list and property items image in VB and C#.net.

Get Pixel Format:

Image consists of pixels to get the format of the pixel we have a property named pixel format. This property returns an enumeration of pixel format. This enumeration tells the pixel format.

To demonstrate make a window application. Drag one button and a picture box on form.

Now write the following code on Button click event:

How to listen to events within a listview

I've got a listview and I've put a button control in one of the columns, I'm trying to figure out how I have listen to the button click within a certain row, but can't see the button in the dropdown for the IDs I can generate events for.

I'd like to get the primary key of the row that's been clicked on and then run a sql statement against it.

Any help would be appreciated.

ListView DataPager with SQL-Statements that already return only paged data.

As far as I understand the ListView-Control and the DataPager-Control, they work like this: The ListView gets its datarows from its data source, then the DataPager causes the ListView to display only a subset of those rows.

So what, when I want to use custom databinding for the ListView, that *already* gets the certain subset from SQL-Server (for better performance). Can I and how can I use the DataPager then?

Can't display an image from the database

My database has a products table that has images stored in a varbinary(MAX) column.

I'm trying to display product information in a repeater and trying to display the images as well by using a GenericHandler class but I can't get the image to show up in my page.

Here is my Handler.ashx class:

Public Class Handler
    Implements System.Web.IHttpHandler

    Sub ProcessRequest(ByVal context As HttpContext) Implements IHttpHandler.ProcessRequest

        '== Set up the response settings
        context.Response.ContentType = "image/gif"
        context.Response.BufferOutput = False

        Dim id As Integer = -1
        Dim stream As Stream = Nothing
        If Not String.IsNullOrEmpty(context.Request.QueryString("id")) Then
            id = context.Request.QueryString("id")
            stream = GetImage(id)
        End If

        Const buffersize As Integer = 1024 * 16
        Dim buffer(buffersize) As Byte
        'byte[] buffer = new byte[buffersize];
        Dim count As Integer = stream.Read(buffer, 0, buffersize)

        While count > 0
            context.Response.OutputStream.Write(buffer, 0, count)
            count = stream.Read(buffer, 0, buffersize)
