Hello,Created a report using a report model.the problem is that duplicate rows do not show on the report. Why?And also how can this be fixed?the report shows product ids, that may or may not have serial numbersticket numbers can have mulitple products associated with them and they may or may not have serial numbersthe report data row is as follows:example:order number, ticket number, product id, manufacturer id, serial number123                  456               dsl_router 12  cisco123                  456               dsl_router 12  ciscothe above data shows as one row on the report, thus, showing it to be one product, but really there are 2 products and there should be 2 rows.is this a bug?how can this be fixed? Thanks.

Duplicate rows when querying in Report Builder 3.0

I am trying to modify the SQL Server Reporting Services Build Summary report to include a little more information. What I want to do is add two more rows, then insert a table into each of the rows. One table will have all the passed tests for the build and one table will have all the failed tests for the build.

I successfully modified the dsBuilds dataset in Report Builder 3.0 to do this and everything works except for one little annoyance. Lets say the build had 1 passed tests, "passedTestA", and 3 failed tests. The passed table will have 3 passed tests in it all name "passedTestA" when there should only be one passed tests.

Heres that part of the query that is getting the passed/failed tests:

AllFailedTests As
SELECT ResultTest As FailedTests, ResultErrorMessage, BuildName
	From TestResultView
	WHERE ResultOutcome = N'Failed'

AllPassedTests As
	SELECT ResultTest As PassedTests, BuildName
	From TestResultView
	WHERE ResultOutcome = N'Passed'

 FROM @Results r
LEFT OUTER JOIN AllPassedTests pt ON r.BuildName = pt.BuildName
LEFT OUTER JOIN AllFailedTests ft ON r.BuildName = ft.BuildName

I pretty much self taught myself this query language yesterday so I dont know much about joining and it is when I a

Report Builder 3.0 issue - can view existing rdl files but cannot create new reports

I have Report Builder 3.0 deployed on my local machine pointing to a remote SQL Server 2008 R2 instance outside of my local domain.  Within this local Report Builder 3.0 instance I am able to open up previously created rdl files from the remote SQL Server 2008 R2 instance that I am connecting to.  However, if I try to create a new report on my local instance of Report Builder 3.0 and attempt to use the same data source as was used to create these existing rdl files, I receive the error: "Unable to connect to data source. The user credentials provided in the connection string do not have permission to connect to Reporting Services."  So why can I open existing rdl files from this remote SQL Server 2008 R2 instance, but not create new ones even though I'm using the same data source as the existing rdl files?  Thanks, Mark

save reports in Private and Public folder using Report Builder 2.0

I have a report builder built on RB2.0. Users are able to create their reports and browse them.

Now, Users wants these reports to be saved in their Private folder and public folder.

Also, I have a UI developed in .Net 3.5 from where I am calling this report builder.  In the UI, I need to show the users those reports that they have created in a drop down list. And when the user clicks on any report (that they created should) open.

I have searched a lot but not getting any clue how to allow the business user to save a report

Report Builder 3.0 renders empty page for Reports with Matrix (column group) in Landscape orientatio

I need some help.

If I create a Report with a Matrix Tablix (with row Groups and column groups) in landscape layout and preview it in print layout, the report generates me some extra empty page every 2nd page.

I don't understand the rule, why it's doing that.

My Report settings are:

  • PageSize: width: 29.7 cm, height: 21 cm
  • InteractiveSize: width: 29.7cm, height: 21 cm
  • Margins : 0cm,0cm,0cm,0cm
  • Report Body : widht: 25cm, height: 10cm

According my Report settings this shouldn't happen, should it. The width of my Tablix is max 22cm.

What I noticed is, that when I shrink the width of my Report Body to 21 cm (to the width of the portrait layout) or less, the emtpy pages disappear.

Or when I delete the column group, it also renders the report without some empty pages.

I think this problem has something to do with column groups.

Is this a bug or am I missing a setting?

Duplicate Reports in Report Server

We reorganized the look of our report server giving a hierarchy.  So we've moved reports in the report server to their appropriate directories - now if i query the back end - the reports appear duplicated on the server and are sending the subscriptions in duplicate.

I can't see the old reports' locations, they only appear in one location visually.

Report Builder 3.0 Can NOT see 2005 built reports, report models or datasource

We have 2005 bids but have installed 3.0,  thought I would be able to use datasources and report models and retrieve RDL for review or changes.  Is this possible?  I sort of understand that If I want to republish these reports it would have to be on an 2008 installed instance of visial studio.

How far off am I and can any help or point me in the right direction,

Thanks in advance,

Refresh of a Report Builder Dataset does NOT show newly added field

I'm working with Report Builder 2.0 (we don't plan on getting SQL 2008 R2 - so NO 3.0 for us!) and have found that if I have an existing report using an existing stored procedure (it has 4 existing parameters) and I add a new field to the stored procedure it will not refresh the data set.  I have gone to the DataSet properties and executed the query(SPROC) where it does show the new field (so I know the sproc will execute), but when I click OK and hit Refresh Fields it stops responding.  I also tried the same steps without the Refresh Fields and still stops responding.  I also tried to add the field name and it errored out as invalid.

The only work around I've found is to

SSRS 2008 R2 and sharepoint 2007 report builder problems

I upgraded our enterprise sql server 2008 to sql server 2008 r2 last weekend.  Along with this i installed the report builder 3.0 on the servers as well and the updated ssrs add in for sharepoint.  The upgrade went fine, no errors that i could find.  The problem is now when i go to a library that has the report builder content type enabled and click report builder report under new it does not load report builder 3.0.

I updated the custom report builder url in central administration from /_vti_bin/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder_2_0_0_0.application to /_vti_bin/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder_3_0_0_0.application

however when i do click the new report builder report it kicks me over to http://company.com/ReportServer_MossEnt  which itemizes out each individual sharepoint site in the farm.

Is the integration of ssrs 2008 r2, sharepoint 2007 and report builder 3.0 work?  did i install the wrong version of the report builder add in?  The above is the only problem i am having now.

all servers are server 2008, 64 bit and moss 2007 enterprise with sp2 & april 2010 cu

Report Builder in sharepoint is not working.

We are using below Topology in production
Topology is 3 servers:

Sever2: Sql server 2008
Server3: Reporting Services 2008
Operating system on 3 servers: Windows server 2008.
Authentication mode: Form based authentication.

SSRS reports are working success fully in SharePoint using above topology, The issue is through SharePoint library when i am trying to access report builder reports the client is installing, after enter the credentials it is not connecting to server and am getting the following error "Unable to connecting server at 'http://servername/Reports/Forms/AllItems.aspx'  please use different url

The above issue on production only.

But in local development box there is no problem (in my development box SharePoint t, database (sql) and reporting service sits on my box only)

Thanks for your he

Report Builder Report manage data sources - relink programmatically

As part of a site definition solution several report builder report rdl files are uploaded to a report folder.  After a site is created with the defintion, the reports must be manually re-linked to the data source through the UI context menu ("Manage Data Sources").  I have been trying to figure out how to do the re-linking programmatically without luck.  Any ideas?
