Table transfer errors

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 03, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server
Hello, I am trying to transfer a database from one server to another using the Import Export wizard in SSIS and I am consistantly getting this error on 2 different tables so far. - Execute the transfer with the TransferProvider. (Error) Messages * ERROR : errorCode=-1073451000 description=The package contains two objects with the duplicate name of  "output column "ErrorCode" (79)" and "output column "ErrorCode" (14)".  helpFile=dtsmsg.rll helpContext=0 idofInterfaceWithError={8BDFE893-E9D8-4D23-9739-DA807BCDC2AC} (Microsoft.SqlServer.DtsTransferProvider)   This error message is beyond cryptic and when I click on the link it sends me to a web page the just tells me that there is no information available for my current issue. I am transfering the tables to an empty database so I do not understand why I am receiving this error. I have to say that I am not impressed with SSIS at all. I know alot of developers think it's the best thing since sliced bread, however either I am doing something wrong or Microsoft needs to come out with a service pack that fixes these bugs... Any help would be appreciated...   Thanks, David

Server.transfer errors in VS2008 on Windows7

Getting several different errors trying to use server.transfer.  The most recent is

No http handler was found for request type 'POST'

on the line:

Test.aspx contains only an <h1>test</h1> tag.

Noticed someone mentioned having to use the Classic ASP Application pool.  Unfortunately that did not solve my problem.

Anyone know the hack for this?

Error handling: writing database errors to a table that will not get removed by a rollback

I have an error handler sproc that issues a RAISERROR statement.  I would like for this sproc to write error messages to a table.  No problem so far.  What if there is a nested transaction with several ROLLBACKs?  If the code is only 1 level deep the error handler sproc can write to the error message table after the ROLLBACK.  If the code is 2 or more levels deep and an error occurs then what is written to the error message table might get rolled back if an error occurs after returning to the 1st level.  What I thought I would like to do is to have the error handler spawn a sub-process that would record the error message, where the sub-process would not be affected by any subsequent ROLLBACKs in the calling sproc.  Thoughts?

Errors in the OLAP storage engine: The attribute key cannot be found: Table: table_name, Column: col

I get this error on occasion while processing (full) the OLAP database, and I know that the value 822518 is part of my dimension table refered by the fact table.  I usually just re-process (full) the OLAP database and don't get the error anymore.  Is this a problem with the order in which the objects are processed?  If so, how can I change that?

transfer sql server objects - table list made dynamic

i've seen several links when searching for this problem but nothing definitely solves this...or if it does it seems to be among people who seem to know scripting really well and can figure stuff out. my problem is as follows.

i have a remote server that i connect to (need credentials and cannot use windows authentication), and from this box i need to extract certain tables from certain databases. i tried a linked server and its ridiculously slow. the other method was to build it via ssis (which needs a mapping structure for each table and cannot be made dynamic). lastly i came across this. this works really well, but i'm amazed that I cant use a variable for the table name. I've tried hardcoding the name, using a string and object variables but no go.

so i see that people have created a custom transfer objects with vb.net and c#. can someone please give me the layman's code block to enter into the script task? i've tried following instructions and end up with errors. As i paste the code some segments remain underlined and when you hover your mouse you see tooltips like Type StringCollection not defined. So maybe i'm missing some libraries or dll's that are supposed to go in and i have no clue which ones. i really like using the expressions and have iterated object variables and simple variables alike and its ridiculous that this is has room to be con

CLR Table Valued Functions works in Visual Studio but gets permissions errors when I try to use in S

This is a CLR question but here's some backgound first:

I need to talk to a Sybase "Advantage" database server and join results together with some SQL Server data.  I tried using Enterprise manager to link a server to Advantage using both OLE DB and ODBC.  Both types of connections Ping ok when I create then but they also both error out when, from within the linked server screen in enterprise manager, I try to open the tree control to view tables in the database.

I also tried to access the Advantage server using an opendatasource call through both OLE DB and ODBC - both calls errored out with "Invalid object name"

I read the Advantage documentation and I discovered that the drivers - at least the ODBC driver - are a combination of level 1 and level 3 compliance, so I concluded that SQL Server is bombing when it tries to retrieve catalog information after it connects...

I coded up a C# table valued function to retrieve the data that I need using ODBC.  The function works fine from within Visual Studio but now I'm getting CAS errors when I try to use it from within SQL Server.  The issue is security and I'm having trouble figuring out how to tune permissions etc. to get this to work.  Specifically I am getting this error when I try to call t

Export Visio Database Table Names to Excel

If you use the Enterprise Architect edition of Microsoft Visio for data modeling regularly, then there is a good chance that at some point you've wanted to export just the table names into Excel. You might want to do this to map logical ERD entities to physical data model tables, track project status by entity, or track overlap between database versions.

Insert value using Table Value Functions

a real gem in Sql Server 2008. mostly people still using Stored procedure may be they shifted to SQL Server but they are not using TVF right now.

Using jQuery to Filter Table Rows

The project is using the .net GridView control, so I had limited control over the output HTML code. Still, I think this code can work for most tables. One thing to notice: you should use the class "filterable" on your table or on one of its parents for the code to work.
First, we need a text box:

RadioButton Groups, Table Rows And NamingContainers in asp.net

The RadioButtonList. Very handy for inviting users to select just one item from a list although because of the screen real estate it takes up, used less and less in favour of the DropDownList. In plain HTML, the browser knows to enforce the unique selected value amongst a list of radio buttons because they all have the same value for their name attributes.

RadioButton Groups, Table Rows And NamingContainers

(In which AJAX-enhanced CheckBoxes become more useful than RadioButtons but inheritance saves the day, and a simple RadioButton-derived control establishes the purpose of a control's naming container)

Building a 3-Tier App with Silverlight 3, .NET RIA Services, and Azure Table Storage

Silverlight 3, .NET RIA Services, and Windows Azure Services Platform makes a 3-tier Cloud application easier to build: Silverlight 3 as presentation tier, .NET RIA services as the business logic and data access tier, and Windows Azure Table as the data storage tier. The sample application in this article demonstrates the architecture with a simple Survey application with all these technologies working together from Windows Azure.

HttpContext.Items and Server.Transfer/Execute

The problem was basically that when a Server.Transfer call was applied the script container (and also various ClientScriptProxy script embedding routines) would potentially fail to load up the specified scripts.

Using Conditional Split data Transfer in SSIS 2008

This article uses the Integration Services Conditional Split Data Transformation element to filter and transfer data from a set of flat text files to SQL Server database table. The concept can be easily extended to apply to any other source or destination such as Microsoft Excel. This scenario is useful in creating denormalized database tables in a reporting and analysis situation.

Temporary tables in SQL Server vs. table variables

When writing T-SQL code, you often need a table in which to store data temporarily when it comes time to execute that code. You have four table options: normal tables, local temporary tables, global temporary tables and table variables. I'll discuss the differences between using temporary tables in SQL Server versus table variables.

Import XML File to SQL Table

Here is a brief example of importing an XML file into SQL Server table. This is accomplished by using the BULK option of OPENROWSET to load the file, and then utilizing the XQuery capabilities of SQL Server to parse the XML to normalized table format. This example requires SQL server 2005 or SQL Server 2008.

First, the following XML is saved to XML file C:\Products.xml.

How to transfer files between computer and mobile device using bluetooth

What is Bluetooth? How can I have it on my computer?

Bluetooth wireless technology is a communication technology that allows two devices to communicate wirelessly. Most of the notebooks are nowadays equipped with bluetooth. For those notebooks or computers that don't, you can use a bluetooth dongle to add the functionality and it just costs you around $5. Although higher price range bluetooth dongles are available but it makes no sense of buying them if you just plan to connect your mobile device to the computer. Look for one that has Bluetooth v2.0 + EDR (Enhance Data Rate) supporting speeds of upto 3Mbps and with Vista support. You can easily have one of that kind in just $5.

Setting up bluetooth to work on your computer

Just Insert the bluetooth dongle in the USB.
It should get detected by your Operating System and should be ready to use. In case it is just detected as a new hardware, you need to install drivers for it that came with your bluetooth dongle (You can try Google to find the drivers).
Once drivers are installed, a bluetooth notification icon will appear in your system tray.
Right Click on it to access Settings (This may vary with your bluetooth dongle).
Make sure you have turned Discovery On (It allow others to see your computer).
Switch On the bluetooth on the mobile device.
