Can't view the SharePoint Site. Explorer won't take domain account

Hi, I'm having issues viewing the SharePoint 2010 Site that I have deployed from any workstation. It seems that my permissions settings have broken - even though I haven't touched them. Whenever http://start/ is visited (the Intranet top site) it asks for credentials. They should have been taken from the User that was logged onto the machine. E.g. NATWIDE\UserA. After entering the credentials, it doesn't accept them, and asks for them again. And again. And then blank page. I'm not receiving the SharePoint "restricted access" page... HOWEVER, when I log into the website via Mozilla Firefox - it appears that the credentials are fine, and it works according to the permissions set for the site from within SharePoint. Does anyone have any idea why this would be happening. I'm completely stumped and I can't find a similar issue anywhere else. I have installed a Stand-alone installation of SharePoint 2010 Server Enterprise on Server 2008. The account that installed the SharePoint server and is a FARM Administrator, can't even log in to view the page. Cheers, Stu. I am having trouble opening a document library in Windows Explorer view. The portal is MOSS 2007. I have installed Office 2007 and IE7 on my computer. The error that I get is
"Documents in this folder are not available. The folder may have been moved or deleted, or network problems may be preventing a connection to the server."

Cannot access parent site list from subsite in XSLt List View webpart in sharepoint designer 2010

  
Hi    We are using sharepoint 2010  for internet facing sites for our big client in healthcare domain .  I am using XSLT list view webpart in sharepoint designer 2010 for retrieving contents from sharepoint list & displaying it by using XSLT List view webpart in publishing sites. We are having lot of list in rootsite collection, If i am creating pages by using XSLt list view webpart in root site collection I can access the list,View and Display in Pages by XSLT List view webpart. Now the requirement is i have to access the list in roosite collection(parent site) from subsites.  In Sharepoint designer 2010, while i am inserting XSLT list view webpart, i could not find datasource to access the list that exist in rootsite collection(Parent site) from subsite. Below is the the code i am using for accessing the list& view from parent site & creating the pages in parent site by using xslt list view webpart,now i wants to access parent site list from subsite by using XSLT list view webpat in subsite pages.  Pls let me know what i have to change in the code level <WebPartPages:XsltListViewWebPart runat="server" Description="The list for the conditions details" ListDisplayName="" PartOrder="2" Default="FALSE" HelpLink="" AllowRemove="True" IsVisible="True" All

Sharepoint site collections accessible only by system account

  
I I have setup a VM to start palying with SP development, everything running under administrator (sql, sharepoint services....). After succefully creating the root on port 80 and a couple of site collections, whenever I shoot IE http://mymoss or any othe site collection, I go right away to the web site without the usual authentification dialog box. On the right jand side, I see I am logged in as "System account". When I try to "sign in as a different user", enter domain\administrator, who is owner, the dialog box just keeps coming back and I can not log. . Thanks in advance

How to change the System Account into Domain Administrator account in Sharepoint?

  
I'm attaching the captured image from the Central Admin of our Sharepoint Server. (http://www.experts-exchange.com/images/346242/Central-Admin.jpg) As you can see from the Central Admin image, the user account shown is "System Account", in whereas I logged in as our Domain Administrator. Then when you check it's info from My Settings, the details from the captured image System Account Info was shown. ( http://www.experts-exchange.com/images/346243/System-Account-Info.jpg) How can I change it as be DOMAIN\Administrator & not SHAREPOINT\system or System Account? Please advise...  

SharePoint Users Behind a Forefront TMG Server Cannot Access Explorer View in Document Libraries

  
SharePoint server via a Forefront TMG server in a separate sub-domain. These users cannot access Explorer View in Document Libraries nor can they map a drive to the SharePoint directory structure, as users who are in the same sub-domain as the SharePoint server can. Hi All, I am facing a strange problem with SharePoint 2007 & Windows 7. I open an existing word document from my PC(Windows 7) and click "save as" and provide a SharePoint document library file path (\\machinename\sitename\DocumentLibraryName) and save the file. The word file becomes visible in the Shared document library, BUT it leaves a copy in the recycle bin of the SharePoint site. Works Normal from Windows XP PC. Any clues. Would greatly appreciate anybody's effort. Regards KCM

Drag and drop to windows explorer of SharePoint site leads to 0KB file

  

I believe this issue got by so many people already.

We have a sharepoint site running on HTTPS protocol. There are some scenarios we get multiple documents from customers and need to move them to SharePoint to share them across organization. For this, what we are doing is, we are opening the library and from Actions menu -> Open in Windows Explorer.

The windows explorer is opening fine and when we tried to move the files from local system to windows explorer of the SharePoint site, it is failing to copy data and showing 0KB moved. And at the windows taskbar it is giving notification like "Got network delayed write fail message." when we are doing this on XP. On any other OS, there is no notification and not moving the file.

We are not able to understand the problem. Why it is not able to move, everytime it is copying 0KB.

We can do using upload multiple files feature, but we have to go back and forth between folders and it will slow down the process.

Please help me out, why it is happening... It is not network issue at all for sure.

What Domain Account should be used for C2WTS in SharePoint 2010?

  

I have installed a brand new farm, Sharepoint 2010 Standard on Windows 2008 R2.  I've configured Kerberos for SQL and SharePoint (verified that Kerberos is working with SQL and SharePoint Central Administration).  This is the start of our company's SharePoint experience (full-blown anyways, I've used WSS 2.0 and played with 3.0 in the past).

The TechNet documentation suggests that if this is a new SharePoint farm, to use Claims-Based Authentication from the start on Web Applications.  It's also suggested to use a domain account to run the C2WTS service.

My question is what domain account should be used for the C2WTS service?  I've already got many service accounts for different parts of SharePoint, and I wasn't sure if the C2WTS needed a special account as well, since there needs to be SPNs set on it.  Can I just use an existing account, and make sure the delegations are set right, or do I need to create a new account for just the C2WTS service?


SharePoint Web Part to View List in Different SharePoint Site

  
I am working on SharePoint 2010 instance. I want to be able to view list content in the SharePoint site that this list doesn't belong to. My site does not even share the same site collection as the one containing the list. Is this possible without the custom SharePoint solution coding? Thanks. 

Cannot log in into SharePoint site with administrator account

  

I have set up a SharePoint environment where I have set up a test web application and a site collection.  It is important to mention that everything has been set up using the administrator account.  Once I try to logging in using administrator account it fails after 3 tries and it just give me a blank screen.
I also checked IIS for security setting but I do not see anything wrong!
As a side note I am able to connect Central administrator without any problems using the administrator account.
I think it is a security setting but I do not know where to start
Help is greatly appreciate


 

access sharepoint site from seperate domain

  

We have SharePoint server farm setup and all users from DomainA can access it. Now we have some users from Domain B need to access this SharePoint site too. 

But we do not want to set up the trust between Domain A and Domain B. What is the solution if there is no trust between two domains?

IE8 and SharePoint Explorer View Problem

  
We are running WSS 3.0 on Windows Server 2008.

I have a number of clients accessing Sharepoint using either Windows XP with IE7, Windows Vista with IE8 or Windows 2008 with IE8.

We are experiencing problems with using Explorer Views on Document Libraries when using IE8, the message we are seeing is "your client does not support opening this list with Windows Explorer".

I have ensured that the 'WebClient' Service is started on the SharePoint Server and also ensured that the WebDav Web Service Extension is allowed in IIS (not sure that this is required though).

I do not know how to proceed. My users really need some kind of explorer based access to the Sharepoint Document Libraries, it doesn't necessary need to be via Sharepoint, athough that would be preferable.

Sharepoint 3.0 questions Domain name routing to sharepoint site

  

Hello,

Wondering if you can help me.  I am setting up a sharepoint site on Server 2008 for my the small company I work for.  Its pretty new to me but I have done things like this in the past.

The domain the server and PC's are in is called ICCSOL.com.  Now I want people to be able to type in ICCSOL.com in their browsers and for it point  to the Sharepoint home page.

At the moment it goes to a page saying "It works"

My sharepoint site install automatically gave it port number 41658.  So it http://iccserver01:41658/default.aspx

I want ICCSol.com to direct to http://iccserver01:41658/default.aspx

Can anyone help me?  Its probably a simple thing to do but I just cant figure it out.

Sharepoint library Explorer view - Office 2010 conflict?

  

Recently upgraded from Office 2007 to 2010.  Some days after install started to receive a message 'you need to activate this product' every time I opened an Office application.  My IT guys did the ncessary to activate Office 2010, but since then my site selection (tab) button on any Sharepoint page will not open the drop-down menu and I cannot change the view of any document library to 'Explorer View'.

I've been looking in forums and other sources and can see this is a known issue with IE8, but when it happened to me, I was using IE7.  The only trigger I can see is the activation of Office 2010

Anyone had similar experience and anyone aware of a fix?
