SQL 2008 servers and MOSS 2007 with SSRS

I need help figuring out the limitations in a multi-database server environment and MOSS 2007 installation with SSRS.  Here is the run down:

  • I currently have MOSS 2007 server with backend on SQL 2005, which also acts as the SSRS server.  In addition I have another SQL 2005 server where business data resides and against which most of the SSRS reports run.
  • Future plan (over which I don't really have a say) is MOSS 2007 with backend on SQL 2008, which will remain to be the SSRS server.  The second SQL server with business data will be migrated to SQL 2008 R2.

Questions: does this architecture requires SSRS 2008 add-in or SSRS 2008 R2 add-in (integrated mode)?  Will there be an issue of building SSRS 2008 reports that go after SQL 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 data mix?

Does MOSS 2007 Support SQL Server 2008 R2 RTM version?

Sharepoint 2003 + Windows Terminal Server 2008 + Office 2007 problem?

Hi, We have a customer where some users runs Windows Terminal Server 2008 with Office 2007. They open documents from a Sharepoint 2003 site. When they open an excel sheet they get a button in the document which says "Server workbook: Click edit workbook to edit this workbook" and there is a button: "edit workbook" The users clicks "edit workbook" but get an error message saying there is no connection to the server.  They are able to edit the document, but not save it back to the sharepoint site. Most other users work on their local computer with Office 2003. Here, everything works fine and there are no button/message stating its a server workbook.   Is this caused due to some compatability issues between Sharepoint 2003 and Office 2007?   Best regards, Thomas Hansen ErgoGroup AS

SQL Server 2008/MOSS 2007 Reporting Nightmares

I am having issues of the Reporting services kind...I have 2 issues in regards to executing rdl report files (excel reports work fine) when they're read through sharepoint reporting.I'll give you a rundown of the components and layout I'm using first of all. I'm going to put in as much information as I can find, so if you see things that are irrelevant it's just because I want to dump as much as I can incase it tweaks someones brain. FYI I have rebooted the computers and IIS many, many times.Servers:Both of the machines below are VMs on Xenserver. We run on a /23 network for these servers. The domain functional level is Windows 2000 mixed (yeah, I know). Devsp40: devsp40 is a Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 Enterprise edition x64 server (winver 5.2 R2 Build 3790.srv03_sp2_rtm.070216-1710 : Service Pack 2) running MOSS 2007 Enterprise SP2 and WSS 3.0 sp2 (it recommended I install that) x64. I extracted the install files and put the updates in the update folder for installation. The IP is 10.200.200.66. It's probably worth noting that I am using a trial key for MOSS at the moment until our MSDN license comes through.Devsql40: devsql40 is a Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise edition x64 (winver 6.1 build 7600) running SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 x64. Install MOSS 2007 and ProClartity 6.3 (PAS6.3) on the same Microsoft Windows 2003 Server

An install of MOSS 2007 and ProClartity 6.3 (PAS6.3) on the same Microsoft Windows 2003 Server seems to be problematic. MOSS 2007 creates a default website and stops the normal default website. As soon as PAS 6.3 is installed it installs to this stopped default website. How can I overcome this issue?

MOSS 2007 to SharePoint Server 2010 Hybrid Upgrade Approach on Windows Server 2003 x64

There's some guidance circulating about upgrading to 2010 with a mix of In-Place and Database Attach upgrade methods. My Central Admin and SharePoint Web App are on a 64 bit server, but it's running on Windows server 2003 x64 and not on Windows Server 2008 or 2008 R2. SharePoint Team Blog says Server 2008 or 2008 R2 is required for SP2010. If I want to do the hybrid upgrade approach, is it possible to first upgrade the OS to Server 2008 R2 on the server where my Central Admin and SP Web App runs?  Or will this break MOSS 2007?
