AJAX call is not working on F5 load balancer web farm setup

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 03, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net
I have the following web farm setup in production server.Browser --> HTTPS --> Load Balancer --> HTTP --> webserver nodeF5 Load balancer handles off box SSL termination. It implies that SSL resides on F5 load balancer. Problem Statement: Ajax calls do not go through unless "Access data sources across domains" option is enabled in IE security settings. I have the similar setup in staging server except F5 Load balancer. The ASP.Net application makes perfect AJAX calls on both HTTP and HTTPS.However, the staging server web farm use windows NLB and SSL resides on individual web server nodes

WCF function call in page load not working asynchronously

Hi all, I am trying to implement the WCF async function call in my page load event but, it not working asynchronously. Which means page content is displayed only after the asynchronous event is completed. This is my code         protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)         {             if (!IsPostBack)             {                 ServiceReference1.Service1Client srv = new WebApplication1.ServiceReference1.Service1Client();                 srv.GetListCompleted += new EventHandler<WebApplication1.ServiceReference1.GetListCompletedEventArgs>(srv_GetListCompleted);                 srv.GetListAsync();             }         }           void srv_GetListCompleted(object sender, WebApplication1.ServiceReference1.GetListCompletedEventArgs e)         {

Ajax call not working on production box - Using ASP.NET MVC 2

The following .post command in a .js file works fine in Dev and Test but not on our production box (Windows Server 2003).  I believe the URL is not being found on the production box since the function(result) is not being run.  Or it could be that the index method is not returning the jsonresult.

    $.post(BASE_APP_URL + "Beast/Index", $("#beastForm").serialize(), function(result) {
    }, "json");

    <script type="text/javascript">
        var BASE_APP_URL = '<%=Url.Content("~/")%>';
Index Method:
        public ActionResult Index(BeastPrompt b,string hiddenSubmit, string btnRun)
            beast.errorMessage = string.Empty;

How to setup WCF with wsHttpBinding, Transport Security with x509 certificate behind a load balancer

I'm having a difficult time setting up this WCF Service with wsHttpBinding, Transport Security, x509 and, the key part, the Load Balancer (F5). This all works without a problem in our Dev environment but as soon as I put it behind the F5 it fails giving me this message:

System.ServiceModel.Security.SecurityNegotiationException: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel with authority 'servicechannelcert'. ---> System.Net.WebException: The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel. ---> System.Security.Authentication.AuthenticationException: The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure.

Is there any additional setup I need to do in IIS or the Load Balancer to handle these requests?

Using jQuery to directly call ASP.NET AJAX page methods

Here I am looking to explain how to call page methods using jQuery. Using jQuery to directly call ASP.NET AJAX page methods

re load javascripts and jquaries after ajax refresh

I use javascript hints for my textbox and when page loads I set that, but after submiting data for example in the case of error in input and need for inputing again the data it doesn't show the hints, which means that when ajax sends Httprequest and gets Httpresponse and refreshes the update panel , that panel doesn't accept loaded jscripts again, so they should be loaded again.

I do not know how to do that in asp.net, any tips or recomendations?

Ajax AutocompleteExtender not working from IIS

I am using  AjaxAutoCompleteExtender  in my asp.net program (C#) . I am applying the extender to a texbox and using internal Web Service. I am getting the desired result, when i am running from the development environment. After Publishing the site to IIS, I am not getting the list and not showing any errors. I have turned off custom errors. My website is not an Ajax Enabled WebSite. So i added the lines into my Web.Config.

I tried all service path.. http://localhost/Test/ WebService.asmx

and i tried ~/Test/WebService.aspx

While testing from the development environment, i am using the last one.

I am not sure whether this is the problem with the service path or any permission issue.

Now I know that I won't be sending viewstate and eventvalidation in my ajax calls and that I will only want to send the actual form fields for efficiency purposes but I will need to know the answer to this question, to inform the more junior members of the team and my manager, so if anyone has any answers they are most welcome.

Change password for FBA users in claims setup not working as expected

Hi, I am trying to add a standard asp:changepassword control for external users. In the previous 2007 sharepoint environment this control was working "out of the box". I am pretty sure what is wrong as well,- but not sure how to fix it. A workaround that makes me able to change password is as follows: in the asp - control, I have added the option DisplayUserName="true" Then in the actual web-page, i can see that my username is: 0#.f|acaspnetsqlmembershipprovider|xxxxxx and not xxxxxx as i would excpect, as i use xxxxxx to log in. Editing the username to just xxxxxx makes the changing of password work, but this solution is not really nice to deploy to the normal end-users.. Any suggestion on how to make the username right? I've tried to set the username using the option UserName="<%=SPContext.Current.Web.CurrentUser.LoginName%>", but it does not seem to evaluate..
