Allow Anonymous Users to respond to blog posts

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 03, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint
Hello, I'm using Sharepoint Foundation 2010 and more specifically the blog application. I've turned on Anonymous Access so people can read posts, but I also want them to be able to respond to the posts. Is this possible? Thanks in advance, Bas

Users new blog posts need to be approved first

We have a 2010 blog set up.   Is there a way for contributors to be able to create blog posts without them needing to be approved by the owner first (and without making everyone an admin of that blog)

I guess our other option is to use the Discussion Board in sharepoint but is there a way to setup email alerts for that everytime a topic is posted?  thanks

Modifying the wssuc:Welcome for anonymous users to have a Register Link

HI every one, First post so be gentle :) Spent a day and a bit on the various sites and not having much luck with my issue, and I am hoping some one can guide me I need to modify the Welcome message to have one more link for anonymous users: Register. So it will say Register | Sign In. I have tried the AnonymousTemplate but it only shows the register when you have logged in, and a few various other ways. I tried to create a custom template for the Welcome control, but didn't have my luck either. Can some one suggest a tutorial or a way forward please. Thanks Lou

Blog category view not showing any posts?

Is there something i need to do for the category specific views of posts?I have the categories webpart, and people are adding their posts to 1 or more categories, but when clicking on one of the categories it shows no posts what-so-ever.  THe only posts that do show are ones where I remove all categories.I have tried editing the current view and typing the category name in and that works, I am assuming that the category should be put into that field from the query string by the webpart??? or is there something i need to do??Thx for all help offered.

Anonymous access for mobile users

I have set up anonymous access on a sharepoint 2010 publishing site, and that works fine. However, when I try to access the site from a mobile device ( or in a browser with a url of http://server/pages/default.aspx?Mobile=1), I get 401 Unauthorized.

In the IIS log, it's showing a 401 on: /_layouts/mobile/mblwp.aspx

Any suggestions for getting anonymous to work for mobile users?

Redirecting Anonymous users IIS 7

I am working on an internal application... i setup IIS 7 to use windows authentication since its behind the firewall and on the domain.. there is a "public" side.. and an "internal" side... if your not part of IT.. you should get the public side.. this is just informational.. my problem is that there is 1 or two pcs that are not on the domain and nobody is logged into them.. how can i just redirect anonymous users to another site???????

everything i read says you can't use anonymous AND windows auth.. so my thought was to just redirect the anonymous users to another site.. how can you do that??

Users can access every new library though Anonymous access id disabled

Hi guys,

I have a really strange stuff going on... I have Anonymous acces disabled on my MOSS portal in Central Administration:

Central Admin->Application Management->Authentication Providers->Default-> Anonymous Access is checked off

So I doesn't even have an option to enable it on any sites of this web application. But when I create a new Document Library all users have read permissions to it though I left only System Account at library permissions .

Am I missing something?

Minimum permissions to allow users to respond to survey

Morning all,

I have created a survey which has been authorised to go live.  I am looking to give an AD group with a few hundred users access to the survey so they can respond.
However, I am finding it difficult to create a custom permission level (this will be used repeatedly throught our SharePoint environment) that allows the user to access the survey and successfully submit their repsonse.  I can get the users to the survey and when they click respond.... it shows the first question.  When they click on Next, it shows access denied!

I can only get this working if I use contribute or full control but I don't want the user's going in and changing the q's/deleting the survey etc etc.

Does anyone know the minimum permissions to allow what I require?

anonymous users vs intranet users in sharepoint 2010 internet facing sites

We have sharepoint 2010 internet facing sites where inside custom master page we have security trimmed control which hides site actions for general users.

Now we have anonymous access enabled. So any body can access this site.

Now even if user is author or from intranet , he can not see site actions as we do not have any sign in link.

How to automatically show site actions to users from intranet and with proper rights and hide siteactions to anonymous users?

grouped view for anonymous users

I have a sharepoint 2010 box that has anonymous access enabled. One site manager put a document library view on two different pages (insert web part --> lists and libraries --> documents) On one page, they let it display the default view. On the other, they changed it to display a grouped view (with plus signs, to expand and collapse the list of docs).

The page with the default view works fine. The page with the grouped view asks for credentials when the plus sign is clicked on. If you click cancel, it displays "401 unauthorized".

Any suggestions?

How do I get rid of a ribbon for anonymous users?

I have a site that I have enabled anonymous access, but when I go onto the website as an anonymous user, the ribbon is still there, how can I get rid of it?  How can I also add a link that could prompt them to login and would bring up the ribbon if they are editors of the site?
