AJAX on my page causes errors with my control

 I have been playing with ajax latley and trying to implement it on a site I have been developing. I can throw the proper tags around my entire container for the page and everything works great...except that I have a button on page that allows users to download a csv with the profile information for user beeing viewed. This button will not work with the ajax.

    <asp:ScriptManager EnablePartialRendering="true"
 ID="ScriptManager1" runat="server"></asp:ScriptManager>

 <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server">

html goes here......

I have tried putting the tags inside individual columns but the controls work with other controls in different columns.
eg. Search for users.. gridview displays users.. when user is selected from gridview a multiview on right side of page loads a view displaying the users profile info as well as buttons for editing deleting emailing the user.. also the export contact info to a csv file. I need the postback to happen when the email and export buttons are clicked.. the update btn works fine, and I am not online so I cannot tell for sure of the email works. But I am certain the export b

Timer control issues...page gets slower and slower....

 Hi all,

I have a Update panel with a Timer control inside the <ContentTemplate> so the JavaScript timing component is re-created only when each postback finishes. I am testing with static data in a small table. I query this table every 3 seconds. It works great for the first 5 min but then it starts to take longer to retrieve the data.... (I can see that with a time stamp I post back in a Label control).

I am not sure why that is happening. I thought that was because I had the Timer control outside the UpdatePanel (as I was using a Trigger) but I moved that inside the UpdatePanel but still get the same results.

What could be happening here?

Thank you

Using jQuery to directly call ASP.NET AJAX page methods

Here I am looking to explain how to call page methods using jQuery. Using jQuery to directly call ASP.NET AJAX page methods

GridView Javascript Click Row and Ajax

This article shows 2 common tasks with the ASP.NET GridView: Binding a List (generic) of objects as DataSource and on clicking a row, getting the values of the selected row by a javascript function. In the example a List with User-objects is displayed. On clicking a row containing the data of a User-object, the Id of the object is used to get the address of the user by an Ajax-call and display it in a details-field.

GridView Multiple Filter AJAX Control

This AJAX control enables the user to filter data within any column inside a GridView. The user can add multiple filters and can delete existing ones too.

watermark textbox using Ajax control

This is pretty simple compared to jquery. Since we need refer a dll only. we dont want any script for this. we just include that reference into our website.

I am having problems with a user control. I want my solution to have a separate project for holding my user controls.

VWDE 2010 Won't Install Ajax Control Toolkit on XP Pro

To my displeasure I cannot find VWD2005 which at one time would generate a complete web.config for Ajax so I downloaded and installed VWDE 2010 to a clean install of XP Pro.

I've created a new tab on the toolbar for the controls but after I select the Ajax dll to add the controls to the toolbar it grinds away and then goes poof and closes down the task leaving VWD look as if I had never even created the tab in the toolbar.

Any advice here?

ASP.NET Proxy Page - Used for Cross Domain Requests from AJAX and JavaScript

The article ASP.NET Proxy Page - Used for Cross Domain Requests from AJAX and JavaScript was added by Aamir Hasan on Thursday, August 19, 2010.

One of the pain points with developing AJAX, JavaScript, JQuery, and other client-side behaviors is that JavaScript doesn't allow for cross domain request for pulling content. For example, JavaScript code on www.johnchapman.name could not pull content
