Posted By:      Posted Date: September 03, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net
Hi, I have a .cs file in Folder4 here. In that file I will need to call another .aspx file that is located in Folder2. I will not know the name of this "Folder2", so I am looking for a code where I "go back" 2 folders and call test.aspx that is located in "Folder2" I cant use this code as I dont know the name of Folder2: String path = "WebSite1/Folder2/Folder3/Folder4"; Response.Redirect("~/Folder2/test.aspx");

SharePoint 2010 Search - Exchange 2010 Public Folders

Hello,  I have two questions that may be fairly complex.  We have just built a SharePoint 2010 test environment and are crawling Exchange 2010 Public folders with search.

We have portal links pointing to public folder HTTP addresses that have been broken since the HTTP functionality went away in exchange 2010.  We have since built a SharePoint 2010 instance and are using OWA to crawl the Exchange 2010 public folders (per http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee806927.aspx).  This seems to be working well with a few caveats.

Question #1:  Now that we have all of our public folder data in the index, is there a way to form a query that will give me only items in a specific fublic folder discussion path?  before E2k10, we would link to something like http://ExchangeServer/public/TopNodeFolder/Level2NodeFolder/DiscussionBoard?Cmd=contents.  Now, what we are hoping to do is add links with formed queries to the portal that point to result sets that are being served from the Search index.  i.e. Give me all the items that have this public folder path in the path.  Is this possible?  I would like the user experience to be a list of

Unable to perform fulltext search for documents in some folders in an SharePoint Document Library

Issue Description : Keywords from certain folders in the Document Library  is not searchable via full text search. For example, the keyword “4MB7106” is not searchable, even though the document is available in the document library. This is content search in a file in a document library, NOT a file name. Any ideas?

how to exclude folders(and items within this folder) under document library in search result?

I have a library with a particular content type. I also have a folder _thumbs within it. I do not want the search to retrieve the items that are within this folder (or the folder for that matter). Any ideas on how this can be achieved?

Complete folders missing from Document Library, but available through search (WSS 2.0)

Dear all,

We have a WSS 2.0 Server (in Farm mode with SQL backend). About 6 months ago, a user moved a lot of folders around within a Document Library (doing a bit of a cleanup).

Since then, most folders in the library cannot be seen, either through web browser or Explorer view. They simply don't appear (as though they've been deleted).
However, if we search for a file it will appear in search, and the URL/path to the file is in the folders that cannot be seen (or seemingly don't exist). You can then view the file as normal if you click the link from the search results.

If we remove the file name from the URL we can then browse the folder that it resides in, however once we get up to the top level folder in the D/L, we get a 404.

Eg: Browsing we see:

Shared Documents/Folder one
Shared Documents/Folder two

If we search we see links to:

Shared Documents/Folder five/Quotes/Australia/quote1.doc (we can then view & download this file fine).

We can then enter the URL to "Shared Documents/Folder five/Quotes/Australia/" in browser and view all files in the Australia folder. If we click 'Up' we can even view the contents of the 'Quotes' folder, but then we hit 'Up' again to get to Folder Five, we get a 404!

This is the most bizarre of all WSS problems I've seen, a

MS SQL Server: Search All Tables, Columns & Rows For Data or Keyword Query

If you need to search your entire database for specific data, this query will come in handy.

So when a client needs a custom report or some sort of custom development using Great Plains, most of the time I will have to track down the data in the system by running this query and find the table(s) it is in.

SharePoint Gets Search Analytics

Microsoft's SharePoint Portal Server 2003 was sold into a large number of organizations based solely on the strength of the search tool. Organizations hungered for a way to find the data they had generated.

Integrating ASP.Net application in to MOSS 2007 to utilize SharePoint Enterprise Search Feature can be done by using Business Data Search.

SharePoint document migration challenges when migrating files and folders

There are several challenges when migrating documents to Microsoft SharePoint. While these challenges can be overcome, they are a real pain if the migration source, content and file systems are not SharePoint friendly.

Adding Search Refinements in SharePoint 2010

I have been playing around with SharePoint 2010 Search this morning. I love the new UI. The search refinements panel is just begging to be messed with. In my case I wanted to add the file extension JPG as an Image Type refiner.

Search for a string in my datasource dynamically

I am displaying an Rssfeed on my page by using XmlDataSource and Datalist controls.

I want the user to be able to limit the information that is returned to my datalist.  To do this I have a textbox on the form that allows the user to enter their search criteria.

I need to be able to dynamically create a query string utilizing the information that the user entered in the textbox.  I am also using a drop down list and allowing the user to select whether they want to search in the title, description, or all parts of the xml file.

I am having trouble figuring out how to reference the data contained in my textbox in my query string.  Where the query string says 'asp', I want to replace 'asp' with the content from my sSearch variable.  Can anyone tell me how to reference my variable in the query string???

string sSearch = txtSearch.Text;
        string SQuery = "";

        if (DropDownList2.SelectedIndex == 0)
            SQuery = "[contains(title), 'asp')]";

Active Directory and .NET: paging the search result

Hi everybody!

I have a question about Active Directory in .NET
For my project I need to fetch results from Active Directory search page by page, because later I would need to bind it to the pageable DataGrid.

I tried to use .NET library DirectoryServices for that, but paging provided by this library is transparent to the user and is used only to increase the efficiency of searching, when results are too big. I.e. I cannot tell the DirectorySearcher to give me first page, then the next or previous page, it returns me all resulting pages in one bundle.

However, what I need is to explicitely get page after page directly from the AD searcher and to be able to go at least one page forward or backward.

The solution with copying all results to the DataBase and then do the paging is not accepeted by the clent, since it is too inefficient. And since it's a Web app, I cannot keep results in memory either.

I found some hints about COM Interface, but I could not find good and detailed examples or explanations. I aslo found this line of code: DirectoryServices.Interop.IDirectorySearch.ExecuteSearch(), but I don't know which libraries should i add to be able to compile this code.

If somebody could help me out with that problem, any suggestion is welcome, 'cause this issue is eating me alive :)

Thank you!
