Data Reader Destination issue

Hi, I'm new to BI, I created a package to test the data reader destination the dtsx is executing well every thing is green but what after that. The question is how to use this Data reader destination? As I know as a .net programmer there  is a class named data reader that could be used to retieve data in connected mode programmatically using a  connection and a command objects, but in the case of data reader destination how to use it. Or am I confusing the data reader that I kno in the ADO .Net with this one used in BIDS  Should I add a script task after the data reader destination or should I consume this data reader within my proper separate code with a dll or an exe that I create as a .Net project ? For instance, two properties are remaquables for me those are locted within the custom proeprties  datareader and  usercomponentdatatype   The complexity resides in the simplicity

OLE DB Destination issue in ForEach Data Flow

Has anyone encountered the following problem:I have a ForEach container with a single task in it - a Data Flow. The Data Flow uses a Source Script transformation to read each file and writes out to several output streams, each of which is connected to a OLE DB Destination. The ForEach executes for each file (in my example 3 times) but only the data from the last execution is in the DB tables. This from is my output window:SSIS package "PIF.dtsx" starting.Information: 0x4004300A at ETL Audit, DTS.Pipeline: Validation phase is beginning.Information: 0x4004300A at Load V6 Policy, DTS.Pipeline: Validation phase is beginning.Information: 0x40043006 at Load V6 Policy, DTS.Pipeline: Prepare for Execute phase is beginning.Information: 0x40043007 at Load V6 Policy, DTS.Pipeline: Pre-Execute phase is beginning.Information: 0x4004300C at Load V6 Policy, DTS.Pipeline: Execute phase is beginning.Information: 0x402090DF at Load V6 Policy, stg_RiskLocation [5449]: The final commit for the data insertion has started.Information: 0x402090DF at Load V6 Policy, stg_PDMRFeed [5277]: The final commit for the data insertion has started.Information: 0x402090DF at Load V6 Policy, stg_Policy [5208]: The final commit for the data insertion has started.Information: 0x402090E0 at Load V6 Policy, stg_RiskLocation [5449]: The final commit for the data insertion has ended.Information: 0x402090DF at Load V6 Pol

Dialup/Earthlink 65534 Timeout issue..

I'm not sure where else to go on this. We've got ~50 locations that have a working synch application that brings in data from SqlExpress2005 db's to our production Sql Server 2005. It has and does work fine in most locations that are on 56k leased lines. One location, however; is dialup through Earthlink. The synch runs fine until it synchs data with one table..Sale_item. It synchs some records but not all. On the one record, I see (through debug msg's boxes I coded) that it's trying to insert into the prod db here. I watch in activity monitor and there's nothing that is blocking. I have the db timeout set to zero (which I thought meant no timeout) so I'm not sure what else to try. It synchs by finding which keys are on prod and which are on the plant and issuing I,U,D's as needed.

SQL Server Express 2005 connection timeout issue.

Client: Sql Sever Management Studio Express 2005 (SSMSE) on Vista Server: Sql Server 2005 Express on Windows Server 2008 Standard When I first try to log into SSMSE from the client machine, the login operation times out. When I retry, the login succeeds almost immediately. If I close the app and re-open it, the same thing happens. This appears to be infinitely repeatable. I am able to reproduce this behavior using SQLCMD.exe. Here's the error: "Timeout expired. The timeout elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. (Microsoft SQL Server)" The technical details reference Error Number -2 What may be unique or tricky about this client's network is that it's a mixture of IPv4 and IPv6. I believe the server is configured for both, but honestly the networking side of things is outside of my expertise. Has anyone else experienced a problem like this? I'm looking for some troubleshooting tips and of course a flat-out answer :-). Thank you in advance for your time and expertise - I hope I've broken the problem down to its simplest form. Will.

SQLServer destination timeout

hi all, i encountered the timeout problem when using the SQLServer target in a dataflow. details are described as following setup: 1. an OLEDB source to read data 2. a Lookup component, here the Lookup table is set to table DIM_ACCOUNT 3. a SQLServer destination component, alse connected to same DIM_ACCOUNT table as previous component. 4. connect these components properly. question: each time this dataflow was run, the SQLServer destination component issued a connection timeout error. while i replaced the SQLServer destination with an OLEDB destination connected to exactly the same table, it worked. what could be the problem? i wish i could use the SQLServer destination , other than the OLEDB destination , as the former is much more efficient. thanks

Transactional push replication in SS2008r2 Timeout issue

The problem: Set up transactional (push only) replication from SS2008r2 to remote SS2008r2

The issue: Replication manages to send the table structure before going into an unending cycle of trying to send the data and receiving Sql Native Client Semaphore timeouts - Try again later msgs. From what I've read, this indicates some sort of network issue.

Side observation - setting up and initializing a snapshot replication of a larger table to the remote server works like a charm.

Question: (1) Why does the straight snapshot work and not the initial snapshot for the transactional subscription. (2) Where, how to troubleshoot this issue ( i need some guidance here so point me in the right direction). I'm ready to enter into dialog. Thanks in advance for your help.

IsapiModule Error 500 Issue

I am about exhausted trying to figure out this error:

HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error

Description: The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred.

Error Code: 0x8007007b

Notification: ExecuteRequestHandler

Module: IsapiModule

Requested URL: http://localhost:80/ReportServer

Physical Path: c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\Reporting Services\ReportServer

When I enable Failed Request Tracing Rules and view the log output I am supposing that the actual problem is in the 2nd call where there are 2 backslashes before the actual filename in the specified path:

ISAPI_START

CALL_ISAPI_EXTENSION DllName="C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\\aspnet_isapi.dll"

MVC2 issue - Stuck. Trying to create a cms with nested partials

I am currently trying to display multiple items on a single page. I am not sure as to how to tackle this. What I have is a database table that has all the page data in. I have this run as a PagesController and this works fine. However what I would like to do is, if say the Products page is selected via the menu, I want to pull back not only the Products page html but also get all the products, and even be able to pull them through via category. I was trying to use a partial view, but I can't get it to work. The same would be for other pages, having partial views to display the other content, ie if Gallery is selected, the page html for Gallery shows and it then can push to a partial view that pulls all the gallery images from the gallery db table and so on.

Maybe I am tackling this the wrong way. I have the pages stored in the db to allow for a CMS system I have setup. Maybe I need to use models for all the other items(Products, Gallery, Videos and such) and use the partial for the page html?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am confused.
