Get name of parent component

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 02, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server
I am using SSIS (SQL Server 2008) and trying to capture errors during control flow (Execute SQL task fails, etc).  In the OnError event, I have trapped the error and gotten the error message from the system variable System::ErrorDescription.  I also have retrieved System::SourceParentGUID.  I would like to use it to get the name of the parent container of the failed component.  I haven't been able to find a way to translate the ID into a Name.  I have found GetObjectById but that seems limited to data flows.  Thanks in advance.

GridView Parent Child View with JQuery Effects

I was just checked how to add some more cool effects to the GridView control using JQuery. In this post I will display parent-child data in the GridView control with some help of the wonderful JQuery library.

Let's first populate the GridView control.

Composite Control which contains arbitrary content defined in .aspx of parent and thier ViewState

I want to write own control which can contain other. And I want to define content of the control in the .aspx file where the control is defined. I have written such control. But now I have issue with ViewState of inner controls of my control. The following samle illustrates the issue: I defined two asp:DropDownList ID="ddl1" and ID="ddl2" One of them is inside of my control and other is outside. When posback is occurred asp:DropDownList ID="ddl1 loses state and becomes empty. How to say ASP.net to store state of inner controls defined by this way?

I created a new package in COM+, When I attempt to add the .dll to the package i get:

An error occured while processeing the last operation.
Error Code 80020009 - Exception ocurred.

How to keep the hover for Parent menu and set the selected menu item css for child menu item?

I'm using cssfriendly control adapter for menu. My asp.net menu control's datasource is a sitemap file I'm using which contains all the urls.

I have the following questions:

  1. Is there a way to keep the parent menu item hovered while hovering over the respective child menu items?
  2. Is there a way to keep the child menu item selected? I am able to set the css for the parent menu, however I was wondering if the same is possible with the child items.

Please help! Smile

way of calling "javascript function of parent window from child window."

The article way of calling "javascript function of parent window from child window." was added by raja.s on Sunday, June 06, 2010.

Hi,Here i am going to explain how to call the javascript function of a parent window from the child window(pop-Up).Some may know before reading this post.Parent Java Script Function:script language="Javascript" type="text/javascript">

Treeview: Select all children if Parent is selected etc...

I'm using a Treeview with  ShowCheckBoxes="All" , so basically I have a tree with all CheckBox Nodes. I'm using the TreeView inside an update panel, and populate the Tree code behind dynamically.

My requrements are the following:

1) Select all the children if parent is selected,

2) When parent is selected, and if we de-select a child, set parent unselected

3) Track if new nodes were selected and previously selected nodes were de-selected (becasue I need to update the database according to the selections in the Tree)

For above 1, I do the following:

protected void TreeView1_TreeNodeCheckChanged(object sender, TreeNodeEventArgs e)
        foreach (TreeNode node in TreeView1.Nodes)
            TreeNodeCollection col = node.ChildNodes;
            //select all children when the parent is checked
            if (col != null && node.Checked)

Two modalpopups as a parent-child

When I  open two modalpopups, one over another, there is unexpected order.

After click on "Open Parent Panel", and click on "Open Child Panel",

Child Panel (newone) is under the Parent.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

What should I do to get it in "normal order"?

The code is:

    <asp:ScriptManager ID="A" runat="Server">
    <asp:Button id="Z1"  runat="server" Text="Open Parent Panel"

Refresh Parent on Pop Up Closed

This has probably been answered before but I was looking at some various posts but the needs I am trying to meet just don't see to work.

So here is the scenario:

User clicks the button and a javascript I have registered opens a pop up window and passes a query string

User then is presented with a gridview with a selection to make (the selection event is triggered again through javascript and mouseover event)

The data is updated in the table for the data being displayed in the parent which is all fine

When the page is done with this it closes and refreshes the parent

Now the problem:

All of this works fine up until the point that I close the window and after playing around with different snippets I have come across I just can't get the thing to refresh the parent properly because when I do the refresh I need to pass the current querystring as follows:

        Dim cScript As String
        cScript = "<script language='javascript'> opener.location.href = 'Workstations.aspx?ClientID=' & MyGUID & '&AddNew=' & 'False' & '&WksID=' & WksID'; </script>"
        Page.ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(Me.GetType(), "parentwindow", cScript)

Microsoft JScript runtime error: 'Parent' is null or not an object

Hi friends,

        I got This Error : Microsoft JScript runtime error: 'Parent' is null or not an object

 In runtime,after  click on the check box, It Show "Microsoft JScript runtime error: 'Parent' is null or not an object"

<script language ="javascript" type ="text/javascript" >
        function SelectAllCheckboxesSpecific(spanChk)
           var IsChecked = spanChk.checked;
           var items=0;
           var Chk = spanChk;
              Parent = document.getElementById('gvUsers');
              var items = Parent.getElementsByTagName('input');
              for(var i=0;i<items.length;i++)
                  if(items[i].id != Chk && items[i].type=="checkbox")
                      if(items[i].checked!= IsChecked)

please verify it.
