I want to bind a Setter.Value to a 'parent' Style.Setter.Value. So, for instance, I have the following: ============================================== <Style TargetType="{x:Type Fluent:ScreenTip}" BasedOn="{StaticResource ScreenTipStyle}">         INSERT_HERE </Style> <Style x:Key="MyCommandStyle" TargetType="{x:Type Fluent:Button}" BasedOn="{StaticResource RibbonButtonStyle}">         <Setter Property="Text" Value="MyValue" />         ...         <Setter Property="ToolTip">             <Setter.Value>                 <Fluent:ScreenTip ... />             </Setter.Value>         </Setter> </Style> ============================================== What do I put into INSERT_HERE to cause the Fluent:ScreenTip's Title to be bound to the MyCommandStyle's Text property (i.e. MyVa

How do I bind to a style's setter property?

Hello everyone,

   I'm trying to bind a brush property to a style within a datagrid (Infragistics), but this is more of a general WPF question.

I have a view model set as the data context of my user control.  One of the properties is ActiveGridRowColor in my view model.  How can I bind this property to the style in the following XAML?

How does TextBlock.Foreground property setter in the style of a Button get applied

Referencing a Dependency Property in XAML of parent UserControl where the property setter acceptable

I hope that title wasn't too confusing. I'm going to try my hardest to explain what I am trying to do.

I have a child UserControl and parent UserControl. The child UserControl has a Dependency Property that I want to set in my parent UserControl. I want to see the set operation change the child UserControl visually while I change the xaml in the parent UserControl. This setter needs to require that it's value is selected from a specific subset of a set of objects.

How do I accomplish this?

The only thing I can think to do is to specify the name of the object being selected and handle the actual selection of that object in the callback of the dependency property setter.

ASP.NET repeater control - databind with style

even used the inline editing features, which I at the time thought was the coolest way possible to write ASP.NET code ( I managed to write code to hide all other rows and only show the current one - the row being edited). With a nice looking EditTemplate it looked indeed very slick but it really turned into giant and hard to manage code behind files.

A Simple and Extensible Radio Button Style GridView

The GridView is one of the significant controls in ASP.NET 2.0 and later versions. No doubt it reduces a lot of work time. However, customizing the GridView control is not an easy task. For example, it's hard to add a radio button column to the GridView. This article demonstrates the reason why a radio button column cannot act as normal and how to create a simple and extensible radio button GridView.

MS Word style comments in asp.net

I need to create a system, that will be similar to ms word style comments. So the idea is the following: on the page there are a pack of text boxes labels and so on, and user need have the way to comment each control, and save commented text, for example to DB, so the others can reed comments too.

I tried PopUpControlExtender, but it works in single way, and i cannot view all the popups in one time. Or may be i missed something and there is a way to popup all the controls at one time?

Therefore, are there any known solutions for a discribed task, based on PopUpControlExtender or something else?

Questions about getter and setter

I created a getter and Setter in Visual Basic. I have some questions though. Please look at the code below.
Here are my questions.

A.) At line 1 below, should "pieces" be declared as Private?
B.) In the IDE at lines 4 and 7 the IDE keeps changing those variables to uppercase so that the property name "Pieces" is the
    same as the variable name "pieces".Should I instead define the integer pieces with an underscore: _pieces ?
That is the only way I can get around the IDE forcing the variable to become uppercase.

1  Dim pieces As Integer

2  Public Property Pieces() As String
3  Get

4  Return pieces
5  End Get

6 Set (ByVal values As String)
7   pieces=value
8 End Set
9 End Property

DataGrid: Tailor Your DataGrid Apps Using Table Style and Custom Column Style Objects

One of the most enduring challenges in writing user interfaces is figuring out how to display large amounts of data efficiently and intuitively without bewildering the user. The problem becomes particularly thorny when the interface must reflect hierarchical relationships within the data that the user needs to modify. The Windows Forms DataGrid control gives developers a powerful and flexible tool to meet this challenge. This article explains its basic operations and shows how to extend the DataGrid to display columns of data in an application-appropriate manner.

ASP.NET 4.0 Menu Top Level selected item style

I want to apply a css class to the level 1 menu item (parent) when it or any or it's children are selected.

I've looked at MSDN documentation and any number of examples and walkthroughs but I haven't come up with a way of managing this. I was thinking something like this might work but the style is not being applied to the parent. To further complicate matters, if I try to apply a css style to StaticSelectedStyle it doesn't pick it up at all.

Menu Markup:

<StaticSelectedStyle  Font-Bold="True" ForeColor="#3333CC" />

Code Behind:

        protected void MenuItemClick_NavMenu(Object sender, MenuEventArgs e)

            MenuItem parentItem = e.Item.Parent;

            if (parentItem != null)

                parentItem.Selected = true;
