Branding SharePoint 2010 - Ribbon tool bar twice on search site

Hello everyone! I'm branding a SharePoint 2010 site and I'm stuck in a problem. The ribbon tool bar is appearing twice on the top of my search sub-site. Everywhere else is good (appearing just once). I did review all my code on the master page and everything seems to be good. Also compared the custom master page with a "v4.master" and all the sharepoint controls and placeholders are just exactly the same. Any ideas of what's going on? Here's the image: From

Branding Ribbon SharePoint 2010

Hello,   I would like to customize the Ribbon to reflect my company branding. I found Tom Wilson's article about this and it match what I want to do. http://styledpoint.com/blog/ribbon-customization-changing-placement-look-and-behavior/ The only point is that I've got 2 tabs "Browse" when I tried to split my Ribbon in several part . I need to place the Tab above the top navigation <SharePoint:SPRibbonPeripheralContent Location=”TabRowRight”> and the small icons under it <asp:ContentPlaceHolder id=”PlaceHolderGlobalNavigation”> <SharePoint:PopoutMenu ID=”GlobalBreadCrumbNavPopout”> <SharePoint:PageStateActionButton>   Does anyone have an idea what I have such an issue?   thx for your help and time

SharePoint Branding: How can one customize Silverlight WebParts?

Hello, I've designed my own custom master pages. However, the Silverlight WebParts in the, for instance, Site Settings > New Site dialog is unaffected by the changes. What is the most easy approach to change these colours in the Silverlight WebPart in the dialog? Is it possible to customise them with a style file like a CSS file or XAML file? or do I have to use themes in order to accomplish customization of Silverlight WebParts?   Regards, Jan Maximilian Kristiansen

Branding MySites: fixed width & centered?

I'm trying to brand MySites, though finding it very difficult. I tried editing the MySites custom master and default master by the normal way:

1) scroll="no" away from the <body> tag.
2) Rename the s4-workspace ID to s4-workspace-mod.
3) Append these CSS in a CSS file:

body {
overflow:auto !important;
font-size: 8pt;

#s4-workspace-mod {

form {

However in the blank MySite, I noticed that if I select 'Edit page', I get into the page edit state, but the normal 'Page' toolbar in the ribbon doesn't appear. There's just a blank space where it should be. So I cannot e.g. stop editing among other things. I can however add web parts and so on.

My question is, is there any way to brand MySite with fixed width and centering without breaking the functionality?

To make things worse, I can't seem to be able to fix things once I broke them. I tried undoing my changes and resetting the master pages to the Site Default, however it did not fix the Edit page state. Is this broken permanently until a new My Site Host is created or what?

Best way to implement 'branding' in MVC2

I have a requirement to implement branding for an MVC2 site.  What I am talking about here is white-label styling for a full site, that would (in the old days) suggest replacement of the Master page in total.  New stylesheets, etc.

Is this a solved problem in ASP.NET MVC? I am not familiar wit hthe top open source offerings in MVC - maybe someone has a nice branding engine in one of those that I am not familiar with.

Thanks in advance!

How do you deploy a feature for sp2010 containing a whole branding solution?

Im attempting to create a sharepoint project, with one module containing a master page, stylesheet, theme and images to provide a clean, accessible and reuseable feature with this complete rebranding solution!

But im finding that i get an error when the deployment tries to activate the feature, i will want to move on from this when it finally works and create event recievers to setup the files to automatically install and use the template and themes files with a stylesheet.

Error: Error occurred in deployment step 'Activate Features': Feature with Id '{ID HERE}' is not installed in this farm, and cannot be added to this scope.

SharePoint Branding: Problem with Web Part Editor Pane

Hi All,

I am facing a problem. With custom Master Page when I set the Width of "Body Container" to 1020px, the Editor pane is not shown on screen (it moves to extreme right and Editor Pane is not visible on screen).

I have added lot of DIV control, Code is below

<%@ Master language="C#" %>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
<%@ Import Namespace="Microsoft.SharePoint" %>
<%@ Register Tagprefix="SharePoint" Namespace="Microsoft.SharePoint.WebControls" Assembly="Microsoft.SharePoint, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c" %>
<%@ Register Tagprefix="WebPartPages" Namespace="Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages" Assembly="Microsoft.SharePoint, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c" %>
<%@ Register TagPrefix="wssuc" TagName="Welcome" src="~/_controltemplates/Welcome.ascx" %>
<%@ Register TagPrefix="wssuc" TagName="DesignModeConsole" src="~/_controltemplates/DesignModeConsole.ascx" %>
<%@ Register TagPrefix="wssuc" TagName="MUISelector" src=

Vistors groups users cannot see images or new branding features.

I have the problem that everybody in the Visitor group (Read permission) cannot see the images or any jquery script is running. I found out that if I add "Edit items" list permission everything running ok but everybody in Visitors group can modify the web pages and that is not the idea. The idea is to have people that can see public information.(include images in the branding)

Please help me!!
