Email enabled folder - same subject

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 02, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint
Dear all I have SharePoint 2010 list that I would like to use for email archiving of company email subscriptions that are sent to us at least once a week from many sources. I have set this up and it work very well trough Exchange 2010, good to know that emails going to SharePoint go through Spam filters on Exchange 2010. Problem is that SharePoint 2010 cant display two emails with the same subject sent to the same email enabled folder. Do you know how to solve this ?

Trying to send email using Sharepoint Designer 2007 workflow and email enabled list

I have a a list that recieves email. I have few fields that shows me the originator: "E-Mail From" and "E-Mail Sender".

I am trying to create a workflow that will generate an auto reply to the originator but the SPD fails to recognize the email address in these two fields. It's either truncating part of it or uses the html ( href=mailto:Demo@DemoSomething.com) in the To field.

Thank you,

.net 3.5 in conjunction with CRM 4.0 email router adding code to subject line of emails causing spam

We use CRM 4.0, which is using .net framework 3.5 SP 1.  Emails sent out of CRM go through and email router and the subject line of these emails is getting "=?us-ascii?Q? added to the beginning of the subject line and "?= added to the end of the subject line. This is causing a large amount of our emails getting spammed. I was told by the CRM support that this is an issue with .net 3.5 and won't be fixed until .net 4.0, which CRM won't support for another year.  Is there not a .net 3.5 patch that can address this?

Sharepoint Workflow To Shoot Email Only When Folder Is Created In Document Library

Hi, Can anyone help me with the below issue, I am facing this from so long and didn’t figure out solution yet for the same. :( I want to send an email through SharePoint designer workflow only when a folder is created in document library (not file uploaded/updated event). Please provide me solution about how I can achieve this through SharePoint designer as don’t have enough coding acquaintance.

SharePoint 2010 email enabled list with workflow has incorrect User ID when items are emailed to the

I have set up an approval workflow for a document library that has email enabled. Emails come into the document library fine, however, if an item is emailed to the library the workflow kicks off with the initiator as "System Account" rather than the person who submitted the email. This makes the error of "The e-mail message cannot be sent. Make sure the e-mail has a valid recipient." come up. If someone submits a document directly to the library (by logging into sharepoint and submitting) everything works fine. The person submitting by email is a valid sharepoint user and the profile shows the correct email address. The Created by and Modified by fields show the correct person (rather than System Account), it's only the workflow User ID that shows incorrectly if document is emailed to library. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Unable to filter the "E-mail To" field in email enabled document library

Hi, We have setup a few email enabled docuement libraries to store emails relating to project work. Is there a way to make the "E-mail To" field in the library be filtered? It is greyed out and doesnt give you the option. The "E-mail From" and "E-mail Subject" are able to have a filter applied to them but for some reason the "E-mail To" field wont let you filter the content. The probelm is that there are over 500 files in the library and the easiest way to find messages is to be able ot filter this column in the library if it is at all possible.

Approval Workflow email truncating space in folder name

Hello all-

I am programatically starting the approval workflow on a doc in a document library.  MOSS 2007.

That doc is in a sub folder of the libary.  The sub folder has a space in the name.  For example, the doc library name is Documents.  The sub folder name is 1.0 General.

When starting the approval workflow on a doc in this libary, the link that appears in the email message does not maintain the space in the folder name.  It does maintain the space in the doc library name.  For example, the link appears as http://servername/sitename/Documents/1.0General/Doc1.docx, but it should be http://servername/sitename/Documents/1.0%20General/Doc1.docx.  Any ideas what is happening and how to resolve this.

Email is Lotus Notes server and client.

Mail Enabled Document Library Not receiving email?

We have SP2010 Foundation in our Env.

I am testing mail enabled Documents in SP2010, But I am not able to receive mail in Document Library.

I have configured and verified the setting in Exchange 2007 and SP2010. Everything looks fine.

Mail are hitting the SP2010 Server but not delivered to Mail Enabled folders in SP.

Kindly HELP.........

With incoming email enabled, how can I open an email associated to a library

I have deployed the feature in a advanced scenario.

All work fine, I am able to recieve emails in a library and I can see it in the list with the rest of the documents of the library.

My "problem" is that I can not open it. I can download it in my desktop and then I can open it, but now I can not open it in the browser, like e.g. .doc or .xls

I have noticed that there are some features in library tools/documents like check out (enable) and check in (disable), and I don't know if I have to configure this options.

Some idea¿?

Thanks in advance.

Email from an SPD workflow in one list not creating entry in another email-enabled list

  • 2003 AD domain
  • MOSS 2007 on Server 2003 R2
  • Single Exchange 2003 Server
  • SPD 2007
  • Custom List AA with Title and Body (plain text) fields only
  • Announcement list BB; email-enabled as  bb@sharepoint.mydomain.com (Accept email from any sender)

When an item is manually created in AA an SPD workflow on custom list AA sends an email to bb@sharepoint.mydomain.com. Since BB is an email-enabled list, a list item should be created in BB. However, no list item is created in BB, even though it appears BB should be receiving the email.

  • If I manually send an email to bb@sharepoint.mydomain.com from my workstation then a list item is created in BB. So,we know the email-enabling is working on the BB list and the Exchange<->MOSS connection is working correctly.
  • Exchange server Message Tracking shows that the email from the workflow is reaching the Exchange server and is being sent to the MOSS server, as expected.
  • SMTP logs on the MOSS server show the workflow email is being received from the Ex

email enabled list

Is that functionality still exists in the 2010 version? how to implement?

Email entry editor with content from the entry in the email subject and body

Hi All,

First to apologies if this question should go into development section, i am putting it here as i am not sure if this can be achieved with SharePoint out of the box without custom applications.

SharePoint server 2007 and Live communications server 2007 are in question

We have a List with numerous entries, the list itself is custom but simple, only text and numbers without any formulas etc.

At the end of the list we have a column with name of “Modified By” user with Presence, we use Presence to email the person who last modified the entry.

Now my question is, is there Any way in SharePoint Server out of the box that I could get Entry Title in the subject of the email when we email the editor, and maybe another entry property in the body of the email?

I can imagine that this probably isnt possible by using presence for the editor but presence is not a requirement there, it is only used in the view for ablitity to email the editor

thank you

Sorting email by subject

I would like to create an event or work flow to sort incoming email.

As the email is delivered,  based on the subject,  forward it to a folder in the library matching the subject.

I cannot figure out if i should do this using two doc libraries , one for delivery of email and then move the item to another.

or if i should use 1 doc library and sort the email as it enters the system.

by the way I am not trying to save the email by subject and create a new folder.

Example: *Folders in library

Folder "Customer 1234"

Folder "Customer 7899"

Email subject: 7899   > move this email to folder "Customer 7899"

Formatting problem with Email from an Browser Enabled InfoPath 2010 Form in SharePoint 2010

I'm creating a form in InfoPath 2010 to be filled out in the browser within our SharePoint 2010 instance. It's pretty simple, four columns with total table width of about 650 pixels, textboxes, checkboxes, datepicker and one multiselect list box. The form is working fine up to the point where I invoke a data connection which emails the form to myself. When it arrives in my inbox, the format of the form included in the body of the email is funky. When I open the email and set it to a full screen viewing window (1440X900) the area that takes up the form exceeds the width of my viewing window and requires scroll bars to see all the fields on the form.

When printing the form from my email the area is so large that no data will show up in the printable area (it appears to be centered on the form and it is cutting off the "extra content" to the left and right which contains the form data as the user entered it). I'm using Outlook 2007. I also forwarded the email to a person who's using Outlook 2010 and they experienced the same problems as myself.

Things I've tried to fix it: Setting each column width, setting each control width to a pixel length (instead of using %). I added some code behind to switch the view to a two column view with a table width of 400px before it sends out the email. It's closer to being at a state where it's

why email and attachments not separated in email enabled document library?

I noticed that an email-enabled document library sometime separates email and attachments and it ends up with multiple items in the library; sometimes it does and it ends up with one item.

How do we control this or what is the trick here?

This is really frustrating!
