Overview – We are building a Mobile Web Site using SharePoint 2007. The big screen site has been already built and we need to integrate the
mobile site into same site collection of big screen –
The Mobile site will use the existing content types of existing big screen site
We will build a new custom Master page
I am working on a SP site (MOSS not WSS) which is heavily customised away from the OOTB layout. I need to create a Wiki site, which was going well - I've created a master page which displays the miniconsole (this was not visible with our customised
layout), and made it the default master page for the site. This has been applied to the two standard pages that come with the Wiki site, however when a new page is created, it seems to inherit the default.master, rather than my custom master page - thus not
showing the miniconsole.
When I have created a new page, I am able to use SharePoint Designer to attach my custom master page to it, which works perfectly, however this will not be a viable option going forward as end-users create their new wiki pages.
How can I get the new pages to inherit my master page when they are created?
I've got a Windows 2008 SP2 server runing x64.
When i try to access the SharePoint Central Admin site, I just get a blank page. No errors in the Windows logs, nothing showing up in the SharePoint logs. The IIS log shows a 500 error.
I enabled Failed Request Tracing for the 500 status code, which gives me the following information:
HttpReason Internal Server Error

Here's the deal:-
Our test environment consists of one SQL Server 2005 machine, 1 Domain Controller and 1 Windows 2008 R2 server with Sharepoint 2007 and Project 2007 installed.
We wanted to test the installation of Sharepoint 2007 Service Pack 2 in our test environment. I followed the instructions available from Technet to install both the WSS 3.0 SP2 and MOSS 2007 SP2 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd637740(office.12).aspx
BUT the last part of the Sharepoint Configuration Wizard failed with the following error:-
SQL Database 'ProjectServer_Published' on SQL Server instance 'SPDatabaseServiceInstance'
not found. Additional error information from SQL
Server is included below.
Cannot open database "ProjectServer_Published" requested by the login.
The login failed.
Login failed for user 'domain\FarmAdmin'.
The weird thing is my database is called 'MTL_Project_Published'
So it looks like it's looking for the old project databases.
Hi all. I have an odd requirement.
I have created a number of views for a custom list I have created. I need to be able to filter these lists by what "Quarter" we are currently in (Jan-Mar - 1; Apr-Jun - 2; Jul Sep - 3; Oct-Dec -4) compared to when the item was created (i have a calculated
column that uses the created date to have the quarter). Each view is a new page (as you have created a view from within Shaarepoint)
I haven't been able to work out how to do this in the CAML query (as I can't figure out how to reference todays date in CAML).
With this out of the question, I then tried to use the Today column hack, but as this isn't dynamic, this doesn't work.
If i use custom master pages. For some reason a user cannot view the thumbnail or filmstrip view; only the details view will display. No errors are thrown when a user selects the filmstrip or thumbnail view, in fact nothing happens at all.
If the master page for the site is changed to default.master then the picture library functionality returns.
Anyone can help me in this. Thanks in advance.
We have a custom list definition that includes custom site columns. When we try to open one of the list view aspx pages in SharePoint to update the view query we get an error when trying to save the page in SharePoint Designer 2007. We receive
a warning that the operation will customize the page from the site definition, which is fine. And then get a general "Server error: ServiceRequestorID" alert. ServiceRequestorID is a custom site column used by the list definition.
ServiceRequestorID field definition:
DisplayName="Service Requestor ID" StaticName="
I dont need this form to be embedded into Sharepoint. I am adding this webpage into Sharepoint because i has issues due to cross-domain permission. I cannot call refresh sharepoint from my op up window webpage. Therefore i want to add my webpage into
the same domain as sharepoint.
I have added the webpage aspx form into Sharepoint from the sharepoint designer 2007. I would like to add code behind the page too.
What i have done at the moment was to create a project in visual studio for the code behind the page. I folloed this article :
Then i have added the dll intothe bin of my sharepoint site. i have also added in webconfig the dll.
However i got the following error :
Parser Error Message: The codefile attribute on the page directive is not allowed in this page.
Line 1: <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="FormOragniseMeeting.aspx.cs" Inherits="FormOrganiseMeeting.FormOrganiseMeetingCodeBehind" %>

I have Sharepoint 2007 server with FBA (i don't have access to the machine, can't run software on in, fba is well configured and working)
One of our client want to have some of the sites saved as a mht pages.
I was trying to use Interop.CDO but could not run it with fba authentication.
Any suggestion how to do it?
I can save this file as html using this code:
using (AuthenticationSvc.Authentication authSvc = new AuthenticationSvc.Authentication())
authSvc.Url = @"https://www.portal.com/_vti_bin/authentication.asmx";
authSvc.CookieContainer = new System.Net.CookieContainer();
authSvc.AllowAutoRedirect = true;
Cookie cookie = new Cookie();
AuthenticationSvc.LoginResult result = authSvc.Login("login", "pass");
if (result.ErrorCode == AuthenticationSvc.LoginErrorCode.NoError)
CookieCollection cookies = authSvc.CookieContainer.GetCookies(new Uri(authSvc.Url));
cookie = cookie
I've just got into customising my own sharepoint page layouts. I have a good a css background and I've started by just copying the code from the blank web part page or the welcome pages to create my layouts. I notice they are all table based layouts. Is
there any reason why I couldn't do purely css based layouts?
I am using sharepoint 2007 sp2, it has been workig fine for the past 8 months but since one of the developers installed .net 4.0 framework, every time we create a new sharepoit publishng site or extend and existing application the home url displays an "Unknown
File Type" security warning message and asks users to download the file. If i manually tupe in the full url
http://www.mysite.com/pages/default.aspx it is displayed correctly. I have uninstalled .net 4 from the server but i still have the same error. I have tried to replicate this error on
a development server but sharepoitn works fine on that even with .net 4.0 installed.
Has anyone had the same issue ? I would appreciate any suggestios or help with troubleshootig this issue.
