  I am beginner to .Net development, so i am looking for a favour. Thanks a lot in advance!!!!!!! Question 1 :  protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)    {        txtUserName.Text = "Focus";                txtUserName.Focus();            } I am unable to get focus to my textbox   Question 2 : I made javascript code for client side validation. function loginjs()        {            if(document.getElementById('txtUserName').value.length==0)            alert("UserName cannot be blank");            else if(document.getElementById('txtPassword').value.length==0)            alert("Password cannot be blank");                    } this code executes but it is not stopping further code execution. code for page load

The following jQuery code lets me hide and open a panel and set focus on a textbox depending on the setting of a RadioButtonList. There are few problems I have with it (discussed below code). Any help would be appreciated.

    <script type="text/javascript" src="scripts/jquery-1.4.2.js"></script>

    <script type="text/javascript">
        $(document).ready(function() {
            $("#lsvProfile_ctrl0_GenderE_rblGender_0").click(function() { $("#lsvProfile_ctrl0_GenderE_pnlMaiden").hide(); $("#lsvProfile_ctrl0_GenderE_txtSpouse").focus(); });
            $("#lsvProfile_ctrl0_GenderE_rblGender_1").click(function() { $("#lsvProfile_ctrl0_GenderE_pnlMaiden").show(); $("#lsvProfile_ctrl0_GenderE_txtMaiden").focus(); });

(1) Focus doesn't set on txtSpouse when clicked value is 0.
(2) When I put the function in a .js file, neither of the textboxes (txtSpouse and txtMaiden) receive focus.
(3) I need to unhide pnlMaiden when the page is loaded and rblGender value is 1.

How to inject htlm code into text field and load it into the view page

 Hi to all,

I woul like to ask for advice how to inject HTML code into text field and load it into the view,

I am giving the user the possibility to add/edit text on the page using Text-Box control.

My goal is to let the user add Url link into the page. Example:

The user enter the word "[[About us]]" and the system needs to translate it into

<a href="<%=Url.Action("Details","Page", new{id="About us"}) %>">About us</a>

In the view i am using encoding: Html.Encode(Model.Page.Description).

I can write in the controller a method that will send to the view the correct syntax.

But the view encode all information therefore it's not working.

How sould i inject html code into existing text and load it into the view correctly ?

Any advice will be appreciated

Thank you

Data: More Load, Less Code with the Data Enhancements of ASP.NET 2.0

A data source control is a server control that wraps some basic functions of a data source - be it a SQL Server database, an XML document, an Excel worksheet, or a sitemap description. Through the services of a similar component, data-bound controls can fetch data as well as insert new records or update and delete existing ones. Data source controls enable a consistent model across a variety of data sources and dramatically reduce the amount of code needed to implement a two-way data-binding scenario. This article provides an introduction to data source controls and other related data binding features.

Using the BDC API how to catch the returned code when executing a stored procedure?

using BDC API, how can i catch the return code a stored procedure returns?

I tried Entity.Execute to execute a generic method. However, it returns an empty Entity table.

I know you can do it by setting up an output variable. I prefer returning an integer for tracking errors.

Any ideas?

Slow page load during a list query one time during the day

We have a monitoring tool set to check to see if the home pages for our 3 web apps load in under 60 seconds every 10 minutes.  All 3 web apps load in under 3 seconds on every 10 minute check except for one exception.  One check every day one of the web app's home page takes longer than 60 seconds to load.  This happens at 11:45PM when there is very little user usage on the environment.  The characteristics of this page are as follows: The only thing on the page is a list view web part which was added by the browser.  The page has not been customized with SPD or code at all.  The list that it pulls is a simple links list that has 281 items on it.  The view pulls all 281 items and displays them in sets of 100.  I cannot find any associated event in the server events and/or SharePoint ULS logs nor are there any daily sharepoint timer jobs running at that time.  Our full index happens at midnight with incremental happening hourly.  Our enviroment is 2 WFEs, 1 App/indexer and we have a separate SQL cluster backend.

Could someone lead me possibly in the direction I should take next in my troubleshooting?
