WPF re-hosted WF 4 StateMachine

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 02, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Windows Application
Hi, I saw the example of the StateMachine in documentation, but that's WF Console. Is there a way to use WPF re-hosted designer from WF 4 samples? This   wd.Load(new StateMachine());   doesn't show correctly (as I was expecting) the StateMachine (it's showing it like a simple Activity, not like a surface on which you can do drag&drop) Thank you

Cannot get service reference for Net.tcp service hosted in IIS7

HiI've got a service that I want to host in IIS7. The service runs over net.tcp (currently without security), but I am unable to create a service reference to it, or call it, using the net.tcp protocol. My event log is populated with lots of errors related to ASP.NET and System.ServiceModel, relevant services are installed and running (net.tcp port sharing service and net.tcp listener adapter).O/S : Window7 RTMDevStudio: 2008I publish the webservice to IIS7 and I get a valid page when navigating to the published .svc file (which tells me to use svtutil.exe and point it at the net.tcp endpoint). For that, I get this error :    The message could not be dispatched because the service at the endpoint address 'net.tcp://gedm-desktop.profiledc01.appdevelop.local/ManageAVMEP/ManageAVMAgent.svc/mex' is unavailable for the protocol of the address.Googling the problem leads me down several blind alleys :(I cannot determine what is causing the net.tcp listener to keep stopping? Everything is fine if I use the wsHttpBinding.Any tips or pointers to a course of action would be appreciated.ThanksGed My event log is full of errors (here is a sample) :-------An error occurred while trying to listen for the URL '/LM/W3SVC/1/ROOT/ManageAVMEP'. This worker process will be terminated. Sender Information: net.tcp Exception: System.ServiceModel.WasHos

Question about WCF Service hosted in Windows Service

Hi, I have little experience with WCF and working on a projet that requires WCF Service instance to run 24x7. After searching for a solution and reading about WCF, I think if I host it under Windows Service I can have a single instance of WCF Service running 24x7. Is this correct? I just successfully ran the MSDN sample project that hosts CalculatorService in Windows Service. I realized that Windows Service cannot communicate with WCF Service it is hosting (I do not have any experience with writing Windows Service). I wrote a test function (public) in Windows Service and tried to call it from WCF Service but it did not appear in the Intellisense list. Is my assumption correct or is there a way to establish communication between Windows Service and its hosted WCF Service? Thanks. kr

WCF REST webservice authentication error when hosted with godaddy

Hi guys, I'm currently hosting my site on a shared windows hosting box with Godaddy. I have upgraded my hosting account to .NET 3.5 and having IIS7 as well which is in integrated pipeline mode. I recently build a simple WCF web service using the REST started kit preview 2. Once i uploaded it to the server, I am getting this error"IIS specified authentication schemes 'Basic, Anonymous', but the binding only supports specification of exactly one authentication scheme. Valid authentication schemes are Digest, Negotiate, NTLM, Basic, or Anonymous. Change the IIS settings so that only a single authentication scheme is used." You can see it here:http://sawasdeethaiart.com/service.svcThe obvious fix for as i have read from various websites, is to make sure I configure my IIS to have either Basic or Anonymous specification enabled. But as i am on a shared hosting account, i dont have any access to do this. (I have checked all my options in the IIS hosting panel, but there is no option). I am also done this in my web.config<authentication mode="None"></authentication> Is there any other option I can add  to my web.config to overcome this? or is there any other fix for this? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Mark

Developing common content pages that can be hosted at the Web application or TLS level and can be sh

We are working on a Publishing site and planning to provision each client as a sub-site under the top level site (TLS). All of these sub-sites will almost have the same web pages and based on the client specific requirement they can customize these pages if needed. To meet the above requirement: I want to develop common content pages or application pages with the publishing capabilities and host them at the TLS, making these common pages available for all sub-sites under the TLS with the following requirements. ·        Sub-sites will not have any of these pages on their own and there would be only one central copy of this common page at TLS. ·        The sub-sites should be able to access these common pages in their context that means using the sub-site specific Master page & Themes. ·        When there is a specific customization is required such as adding a different web part, or updating the HTML data on the page, the common page will be edited in the sub-site and eventually making its own copy of the common page and resulting breaking apart from the common page for any future changes. ·        When the user edits the page he should be alerted that customizing this common page will make a local copy an

Where is System.Web.Extensions.dll now? Fails on remote hosted server.

I've read all the notes about how from RC2 to ajax.net the name space has changed. "The core ASP.NET AJAX assembly has been changed from Microsoft.Web.Extensions.dll to System.Web.Extensions.dll. In addition, the namespace has changed from Microsoft.Web.* to System.Web.*. For some reason, my app runs on my local machine but when I copy it to a remote server (that does not have the ajax updated installed) it fails.  How can I get an IIS installation to work?  Am I missing a dll that I can push up to the remote server?  I can't run the install on the remote machine becasue it's a hosted server. Thanks

Duplex communication and calling clients from outside the hosted service

Hey,   I am currently building an interface between two applications: One that hosts a WCF service and receives external input (e.g. from a sensory system) and another which subscribes to updates sent by the first.   It is quite easy to call back to the client if I create a ServiceHost and provide it with an instance of my service (using ServiceHost.SingletonInstance). However, if I use a PerSession instance mode, how is it possible to call the clients when I receive an updated from the external sensory system?   Thank you for your time!   Cheers, Till

Hosted Designer fails to load workflow xaml that has InArguments with default values (xaml saved by

I have hosted the designer in our app. Using the hosted designer, workflows are saved as xaml to a database. When an end user wishes to edit a workflow the xaml is downloaded to a file and loaded into the designer via the .xaml file. The user can also associate assemblies with the workflow and there is a mechanism which makes sure that these assemblies are loaded into the appdomain and available. The problem we are hitting occurs when the top level activity (Sequence) has InArgument with default value. I create a simple Sequence, add InArguments (type of Int32 and String)  and set some default values. I save the workflow xaml to the database and close down the designer. When I wish to edit the workflow and try to load I get the following errors Could not find member '{clr-namespace:}_e905.argument3'. Could not find member '{clr-namespace:}_e905.argument1'. suggesting that some assembly/namespace missing. Here is the xaml I try to load: <Activity mc:Ignorable="sap" x:Class="{x:Null}" this:_e905.argument3="99" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/netfx/2009/xaml/activities" xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006" xmlns:mva="clr-namespace:Microsoft.VisualBasic.Activities;assembly=System.Activities" xmlns:s="clr-namespace:System;assembly=mscorl

I have a web application with no user interface (GUI), this web application (asp.net) accepts some input from a program and doing some processing; In the Page Load event I am doing all processing and calling a WCF service, after receiving the response from WCF services the page get unload before writing the processing status/result to database) this asp.net application is hosted in IIS.   The WCF services is also hosted in the same machine in windows Services where IIS is hosted, I am concern about its performance of the application which is hosted in IIS.  Should I move some part of the code (processing) to another program say Create a new WCF Services and host it in Windows Services  so that the load on IIS will be reduce?  The new WCF Services will process some part of the code which IIS used to process, so helping IIS to reduce the load.       By moving some part of code from asp.net [processing] to another program hosted in WCF- Windows Services in same machine will able to reduce the load on IIS?   Please guide me.. Thanks Shaju

Statemachine with 2 EventDrivenActivitys --> WF Error

i have a state with 2 eventdriven activities   the first one is a delay activity the second one is a onworkflowitemchanged   if the delay event raises at the same time where the workflowitem gets changed the workflow stays "in progress" and cant get changed anymore...   e.g. i want to send an email, if the delay activity fires and i want to complete the workflow if the item is changed (e.g. statefield = close)   in my case, the state field is "close" and the email from the delay activity is sent but the workflow is still in progress and not completed (as it should be, after the statefield is changed to close...)   if im changing the workflowitem again, the workflow doesnt listen anymore to any changes... so its stuck in the state "in progress" but the delay event is fireing... that means, the email will be sent all the time, the delay times out...

WCF Service hosted in IIS 6 failing on idle timeout and does not restart

I've got a WCF service hosted in IIS 6 with its own application pool.  The application pool is running under a domain service account.  It appears that the application pool's idle shutdown setting is killing WCF service and subsequent requests to the WCF service get an exception as listed below I can only access after I browse to the .svc page in order to get it working again.   I've went through the svc tracing and able to see where the ServiceHost closes down. I have tried various session management techniques with no result. I haven't read anything about having to disable the idle timeout in IIS 6 when hosting a WCF service, and I suspect that there shouldn't be any need to.   Can anyone provide any insight into why this is happening?   ******************* My client exception ******************* Test method **********  threw exception:  System.ServiceModel.ProtocolException: The content type text/html; charset=utf-8 of the response message does not match the content type of the binding (text/xml; charset=utf-8). How to the web client credentials to call the server (hosted in IIS 7) database with Integrated Secu

I'm dealing with a problem trying to use Windows authentication with IIS 7 in Windows Server 2008. Also i'm using WCF. I have a client application and the server application. The server application manage the user accounts using Active Directory. Everything starts when the client sends its user and password to the server application, which is hosted in the IIS(7), and this application must use the same credentials to authenticate the user in the Active Directory. Also after the user is logged in the application, every request sent to the database must use Windows Integrated Security. I already installed Windows Authentication in the IIS 7, and also I enabled it, (and disabled Anonymous Authentication), also I added authentication mode="Windows" in the server app Web.config. I would like to know: - How can I know which user is running the server application (In other words, which user is doing requests to the database). I forgot to say I can't use the SQL Server Profiler cause I don't have permissions. - If I'm missing something, cause I don't want to have security problems in the application. By the way this website says something about this topic but using another IIS version. http://imar.spaanjaars.com/287/how-do-i-determine-the-security-account-that-iis-uses-to-run-my-web-site
