I have changed the theme to Obsedian and I would also like to change the picture of the title bar of this theme and also the font/style of the title, top link bar, menus..etc. Is there a way to do this?
Please note: I am using WSS 3.0 and I am not the Administrator of the sharepoint. I am only the site admin of some sites on this sharepoint. I can do some basic customization using SPD.
Basically, what I am trying to do is that I want to set up a sharepoint site, however I want to make it NOT look like a sharepoint site.Well I know this is possible, but for my case it might be just partially possible due to the limitation that I am not
the Site collection admin and hence I do not have direct access to the server itself.
What I want is to hide most of the sharepoint links/menus/bars, etc and use my own buttons/hyperlinks etc .. for user to navigate on the sites.
Thanks in advance for your help/advices.

Note : Please my Question about asp.net 1.1
And thanks with my best regarding
I've created a custom content type with the following code.
if (currentWeb.ContentTypes["My Content Type"] == null)
var myContentType =
new SPContentType(currentWeb.AvailableContentTypes[new SPContentTypeId("0x01")],
currentWeb.ContentTypes, "My Content Type");
After that I add this content type to a generic list. If I now click on "New element" on my list ribbon I can add a new item with displayname "My Content Type". How can I change this value as I want to name my content types like "xxx
content type" but don't want to see "xxx content type" in the "New element" action.
I expected the name of the content type to be some kind of internal and I'm looking for something to be change the displayname or title to be able to display something different. If I didn't made myself clear, I'll try to be more explicit. Thanks in advance.
Is it possible to change the top navigation bar "home" link (i.e. the selected top-left navigation item) without changing the site's title?
This is for a site configured with the Global Navigation set to: "Display the navigation items below the current site".
So, for example, if the site is called "Team Site", then the top-left navigation link will be called "Team Site". I would like to change the navigation link text, but keep the site title.
I have four custom made Web Parts (based on the Visual Web Part template) that show a filtered set of data from various lists. These work just fine on my front page (which is a Publishing enabled page/site). Each Web Part has some functionality for setting
a date filter on the set of data. Now, on every load I generate a string which tells what the current filter is (default filter, custom set date filter +++) and set this string to the Web Part's Title. This text then shows up in the Web Part's header. All
this works just fine on the front page.
However, I also have a few sub sites that are based on either the Blank Site or a Team Site and on these sites setting the Web Part's Title property doesn't work. Well, it works, but doesn't get rendered. If I do a "Edit page" or go to one of the Web Part's
properties, all the Web Parts' headers get updated to the correct text. But, the next time I load the page, it's back to some old value.
I dont' get it! Does anyone know what might be causing this?
"Title"].Title = "Some Other Name";CustomListName.Fields["LinkTitle"].Title = "Some Other Name"

As this site, http://www.borfin.com.tr/genel/Default.aspx, How can I change the background color selected pages.
Scenario: If you create a table with a column of type nvarchar, populate it with some content and try to modify it using the WebMatrix editor, from nvarchar to ntext, it does not display any error message or warning that this is not possible. It silently saves and reverts the change, back to nvarchar. Wasted some hours on this issue as I thought my column was ntext, but in fact was still nvarchar.
Expected behavior: It should change to ntext, or if SQL CE doesn't support that, it should notify the user that no change was applied.
