ToolTips are flashing.

ToolTips for Button and PictureBox controls are flashing, if "toolTip.Hide()" is activated. The same code for ListView works fine. What should I do ? The actual code is as follows. Thanks ToolTip pbTp = new ToolTip(); private void DF_Set_PictureBoxToolTip() {      pbTp.ShowAlways = true;      pbTp.OwnerDraw = true;      pbTp.Draw += new DrawToolTipEventHandler(DF_PbTp_Draw);      pictureBox3.MouseMove += new MouseEventHandler(DF_PictureBox_MouseMove);      pictureBox3.MouseLeave += new EventHandler(DF_PictureBox_MouseLeave); } public void DF_PictureBox_MouseMove(object sender, MouseEventArgs e) {      Point location = new Point();      location.X = e.X;      location.Y = e.Y;      string text = "---------------------------------------------------------------------------";      pbTp.Show(text, pictureBox3, location); } public void DF_PictureBox_MouseLeave3(object sender, EventArgs e) {     pbTp.Hide(pictureBox3); <---------------------------------------------------- Whenever activated this, starts flashing !! } public void DF_PbTp_Draw(object sender, DrawToolTipEventArgs e) {     using (e.Graphics)     {

Tooltips for rectangles - there must be a standard way of doing this

I am implementing a graphic display that shows a bar with lighting changes over time.  Lights turn on and off according to a schedule. I already have code to show a series of different colored adjacent rectangles, with the color indicating the light level.  This is all drawn on a Graphics object, using FillRect. I would like to have a ToolTip for each rectangle, showing the lighting value (in Lux).  There seems to be no way to assign a ToolTip to a FillRect area, so I assume that I will have to dynamically create either Panel or PictureBox objects that show the colors.  Of course these will have to be Disposed when the window is redrawn. In some cases, I need to show a Hatch pattern (with HatchStyle) so it will not always be a solid color. Is there a simple and straightforward way to do this?  Is there another component that I am overlooking. I'm using VS2008 and C#, .NET 2.0. Thanks in advance, Michael Bate

asp:menu flashing

I have a menu (from a sitemap) set on the master page. When pages are loading, all the menuitems in the menu (including the ones that shouldn't be visible) seem to flash for a second or so. It usually happens when a page is loading for the first time (not all the time and not for all the pages though, sometimes for pageA, sometimes for PageB, sometimes both although each time before testing, I clear the browser cache, restart the server, and load the pages in the same order.) Removing the styles (CssClass="menu") didn't help either. Any way to prevent this? I'm new to asp.net, so I'm not sure if this is normal. My sitemap is pretty simple - included below with the code snippet from the master page. Thanks, Matt Site.master: <asp:SiteMapDataSource runat="server" ID="siteMapDataSource" ShowStartingNode="false" /> <asp:Menu ID="NavigationMenu" runat="server" DataSourceID="siteMapDataSource" CssClass="menu" IncludeStyleBlock="false" EnableViewState="false" Orientation="Horizontal"/>   Web.sitemap: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?><siteMap xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/AspNet/SiteMap-File-1.0" >  <siteMapNode roles="*">    <siteMapNod

DIV Tooltips via the "title" attribute

I'm a bit confused about something . . . I was looking for a way to add tooltips to a DIV element, one of which exists within the ItemTemplate and SelectedItemTemplate elements of a ListView control I've implemented.  I did some research and found a jQuery PlugIn for tooltips that makes use of the "title" attribute in an HTML element to add a tooltip to that element.I do use jQuery in my project but have not yet implemented that plugin.  Yet, when I assigned a test "title" attribute to the DIVs in question, suddenly I had tooltips with them!!!How is this possible?  My understanding is that this is not standard functionality with HTML.  Has Microsoft per chance made it the default behavior with ASP.net web pages? Most curious,Robert

Creating non-text ToolTips in code

I am trying to create a non-text ToolTip in my code like this (where sp is a StackPanel):                 if (helpText != null)                 {                     ToolTip tt = new ToolTip();                     RichTextBox rtb = new RichTextBox();                     rtb.Document = new FlowDocument(new Paragraph(new Run(helpText)));                     tt.Content = rtb;                     sp.ToolTip = tt;                 } This must be calling the ToString() method of the RichTextBox, because all I get in my ToolTip is "System.Windows.Controls.RichTextBox". Can you please tell me what I am missing? Thank you!

Can you modify fonts on sparkline tooltips?

I would like to change the color and fonts on tooltips for the sparklines on an SSRS report.  I'd also like to be able to change the color of the border around the tooltip box.  I've searched for solutions to this and have come up empty so far.  Any ideas on how this might be accomplished?

Running Javascript in a report's tooltips

I want to find out if it is possible to run javascript when a user hovers over a cell in a report and the cell has a tooltip defined.

The idea would be to run another reporting services when a user hovers over a particular cell in their report, almost like you would launch a new report uisng the window.open javascript in a report action.

Balloon Tooltips that have actions

Tooltips not being displayed... why??

I am using VS 2008 and have a Windows Form where I added a tooltip control.  On each of my component properties, there is a property for "ToolTip on toolTip1".  I add some text to that property.  I do this for some labels, buttons, and images.  I have noticed that the buttons seem to get  the tooltip displayed, but the labels and the image (pictureBox) do not.  There seems to be some oddity that once I get my tooltip on a button, the tooltip on a label will appear, but then later if I go back to the label it will not show again.

Any clues as to why the tooltips are not being displayed?

Thanks - Peter

Using SQL 2008 R2 Tooltips on Map layers

I have created a map report in SSRS 2008 R2 that uses geography data types to create a polygon map layer of adjoining areas. I want to be able to use the tooltip option to show properties from each of the individual areas of the layer, but it seems like I can only use aggregate data from all of the data in the layer and not any of the data specific to just the area in the layer I am hovering over.

Is showing aggregate data the only option for a map tooltip, or is there some way to show the data from the individual areas in the map layer that I haven’t figured out yet?

Modifying the Calendar View with hover tooltips

I would like to modify the current Calendar view that is shipped with SharePoint 2010, so that I can customize and add any (or all) of the fields that are visible in the Calendar view.  Since the Calendar view has a limited amount of space for viewing details of the event, I would like the ability to view many of these fields as a hover tooltip similar to how Netflix displays movie details while hovering over the title/name of a movie.

Is this currently possible in SharePoint 2010?

why is that when i insert images tooltips take longer to load, also, Pop-up time-outs, can this be c

Why is that when i insert images the pop-ups take longer to load!?

I'm using an image that show's a question mark for tooltips (only 7Kb in size), the idea is you hover above the image and a tooltip appears giving information regarding the adjacent question (i'm developing an accident tracking system, so some questions relate to working lost days and i want to give users an explanation as to why i'm asking for certain information)

As i say, with each image i add the tool tips seem to take longer to appear?!

Also, is there a way of adjusting how long the tool tips appear for?

WPF Applications flashing in loop on server with new .net 4 install. Can't run.

Hello,  I am hoping that someone will know the answer to this issue.  I have a server (Windows Server 2003) that was recently build with the .net framework 2 - 4 installed on it.  The issue I have is when you try to run a WPF application, the application hangs in what looks like a loop where the app just keeps flashing.   Here are the details I have discovered (the apps developed to test this were just simple windows with no functionality):

  • .NET 4.0 WPF Applications have the issue
  • .NET 4.0 Client Profile WPF Applications have the issue
  • .NET 4.0 WinForms Applications DO NOT have the issue
  • .NET 4.0 Console Apps do not have the issue

The .net frameworks that are listed in the add / remove programs are:

  • .net framework 2.0 service pack 2
  • .net framework 3.0 service pack 2
  • .net framework 3.5 SP1
  • .net framework 4 client profile
  • .net framework 4 extended

before I discovered that alt+f4 would close the app and break the loop, I tried ending task in the task manager and got a framework runtime error in the event log (pasted at bottom).

Any help would be appreciated.
