I have one Document Library and One List, just want display data from both based on ID in SharePoint 2010. Document Library : "Doc1" having following columns 1. ID (default column) 2. Title 3. Description 4. Image Url List : "List1" having following columns 1. RefID ( lookup column, refers the doc1 ID column) 2. Created By I want to display get data table for what are the ID's(items) created by me using CAML Query (SPQuery.Joins)

Managing Lists On the Quick Launch Bar In Sharepoint 2010


Hi can somebody help please.

I am using Sharepoint Foundation 2010 and I need to use the "navigate function" that you use to have in MOSS 2007.

Basically I want to be able to move lists between different sub headers on the quick launch bar. In MOSS 2007 I use to be able to go into manage site settings and choos "navigate and then move the lists up and down between the sub headers that i created on the quick launch bar.

Anyone got any ideas



Cross list query for two sharepoint lists and a join between the fields

Hello All, I have a requirement where i need to query the data from two  sharepoint lists  on a same site by doing a join between those lists and get the result into datatable.I am doing this using sharepoint object model.Is there any possibility to do this. How to get rid of the (More Links.) link on lists in SharePoint 2010?

I have a list of 5 items. The view settings are set so that the Item Limit is 20. I would like the eliminate the (More Links...) link under the list when the web part is on the page. I also tried setting the Toolbar properties to No Toolbar. Any ideas? Thanks.

Issues with updating Lists with Manager Names and User Profile Imports in SharePoint 2010 Server

I am having a curious problem with SharePoint 2010 Server. I have imported all the user profiles of our organization into SharePoint User Profile Service Application from our Active Directory. When the Manager name imports it comes in as domain/login. The organizational browser seems to work for MOST people, but not all. I believe this is contributing to my second problem, which is, I have setup a very simple workflow in SharePoint Designer that simply looks up the persons Manager, then places that information into a field called "Approval 1". After that it looks at Approval 1 and get the Manager name and populated "Approval 2" with that information, and so on. I have used an Impersonation Step as the Farm Administrator in the workflow and I have done it without the impersonation step. Both results in the same problem. When I enter my name into the list and run the workflow it runs beautifully give every manager up the chain to the top. However, if I put any other person's name in there it gives me the error "Workflow failed to get user profile for user: ____". I went to my supervisor's office and asked him to run the workflow. Using his login he had the exact same result--if my name was in there it worked great, otherwise, it gave an error. Any help with this strange error would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

Problems with access to external lists in SharePoint 2010

Our environment is SharePoint 2010 Enterprise, Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard and SQL server 2008 R2.   We have External lists that access a local database in SharePoint SQL Server. When new lists are added and permissions are given in the SharePoint Central Administration the domain users had to be in the Windows administration group to access the lists.   Recently in the same environment the domain users were removed from Windows Administration user group and could access the external lists.   In another similar test server we found adding the domain users to Windows Administration does not give the new domain users access to External lists.   The inconsistency is the issue. Has anyone seen this issue or provide a possible solution?

Sharepoint 2010: Get error: You do not have permissions to have lists and pages within My Site.

I am using the administrator login for the sharepoint 2010 farm.  I'm able to access My Site.  However, when I click on My content, I'm getting You do not have permissions to have lists and pages within My Site.   Any ideas?   Thanks.

How can I split one Sharepoint 2010 List into two Sharepoint 2010 Lists which are displayed side-by-


I have a list (table) with 50 items which is in a webpart zone of a Sharepoint 2010 page. Unfortunately, users have to scroll down the page to see the last items in the list. Therefore I would like to break the list in two and display both lists (each with 25 items) side by side in the same webpart zone. How can I do this? 

The only thing I can think of is to add a new webpart zone next to the other one, put a copy of my 50 items list in it, and apply filters to the lists so that the left one displays items 1-25 and the right one displays items 26-50. Unfortunately, I will have to change my filters once in a while.

Surface data in external lists in Sharepoint Foundation 2010



I have seen numerous articles for the above, but they all just gloss over the step I am having a problem with, assuming nobody will have an issue with it. 

I'm trying to create an External Content Type so I can use it to display external data (from SQL Server) in an External List.  When I get to the step to add the connection and the SQL Server connection dialog box appears, I enter the server and database names and click OK with the Connect with User's Identity radio button still selected and I get the error message: login failed for user ''. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.  I've tried to read up on the different purposes of the radio buttons on offer on this dialog box but don't know which I should really be using and don't think I can create a target application ID anyway in Foundation (for the other two radio button options) as that has to be done in the secure store services.  Can anybody help with this?

Sharepoint 2010 - Lists not displaying Edit (Link to item) for Users with Edit Only access



I am using Sharepoint 2010.  I have several lists whose view includes the column "Edit (Link to Item)" in the default view.  I am the site admin so when I view the list the "Edit" column appears with the small "paper and pencil" icon and it works when clicked. 

I needed some users to only be able to view and edit existing items (not add or delete).  So I have created a site level permissions that I copied from "Read" and only checked the "Edit Items  -  Edit items in lists, edit documents in document libraries, and customize Web Part Pages in document libraries" under Lists. 

This new permission level does allow users to see the edit menu item on the standard "Title" hyperlink dropdown, but in the"Edit" column there isn't an icon or any clickable link to edit in the column.  Only from the menu.  Its as if the icon won't appear if I don't give them Add capability which is what I don't want.

When creating a new view - I would like to add an extra column which I could use as a custom hyperlink to fire up the EditForm.aspx or my on custom ediform.  I would like it.  Is there a step by step that shows hwo to do wthis with SP 2010 and SPD 2010?
