I have written this vb.net code to import an excel spread sheet but need for it to imported into the dbo shema. When I look in the database the table name is me.tablename instead of dbo.tablename.
Public Sub Main()
Dim sheetname As String
excelpath = "S:\Account Management\jkormann\DynamicScoring\GE_Money_MN.xls"
ServerName = "server"
DBName = "sf"
'SchemaName = "dbo"
InsertedTableName = Dts.Variables("strTableName").Value.ToString
sheetname = Dts.Variables("strSheet").Value.ToString
'ImporttoServer(CStr(ExcelPath), CStr(ServerName), CStr(DBName), CStr(SchemaName), CStr(InsertedTableName))
ImporttoServer(CStr(ExcelPath), CStr(ServerName), CStr(DBName), CStr(InsertedTableName), CStr(sheetname))
Dts.TaskResult = Dts.Results.Success
Server: Stand alone Windows 2003 R2 Enterprise x64 Edition Service Pack 2
The server has 4 quad-core processors with 32Gb RAM
SQL: 2 instances of SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition SP4 with cumulative update version: 8.00.2040
I am trying to connect to the named instance of SQL Server with an ODBC connection. I am a local admin on the server and a sysadmin on both the default instance and the named instance. I get the error message
SQL Server Error: 11004
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][TCP/IP Sockets]ConnectionOpen (Connect()).
SQL Server Error: 6
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][TCP/IP Sockets]Specified SQL server not found.
My users are trying to connect via SQL login and are also receiving the same error message.
The default instance is listening on port 1433. The named instance is listening on port 1464. There is no Windows firewall installed on the server.
The annoying thing is that if I click on the button called "Client Configuration" when using the "ODBC Data Source Administrator" dialogue wizard, and I un-tick the radio box called "Dynamically determine port", and hardcode the port 1464 into the dialogue
box, everything works as it should do.
I dont have the SQL EXPRESS installed instead I have SQL Standard Edition.
I have two SQL Server instances installed.
1- UserLT (this is sql 2000)2- UserLT\SQL2005 (this is SQL 2005 named instance)
But when i try to add a database to my VS website project I get the following error:
Connection to SQL Server files (*.mdf) require SQL server express 2005 to function properly. please verify the installation of the component or download from the URL: go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkId=4925
I went in Tools>Opetions>DataBase tools>Data Connection>Sql Server Instance Name (blank for default)
and changed the "SQLEXPRESS" to "USERLT\SQL2005".
But I still get the same error message. Any ideas how i can resolve this issue?
Error:The report server is not responding. Verify that the report server is running and can be accessed from this computer.
I have visual studio 2008 professional with the inbuilt crystal reports version 10 I think. I create everything from my laptop and IIS runs from my laptop as well.
I have created the most basic report to try and figure out a problem I have, anyways the report contains one database field that is it .... which I connect to by ODBC. I then create a web form add the crystal report viewer to the report and the crystal report source run the web page and it loads the data from the field as I would expect to the crystal report viewer !!
I have several ODBC connections setup on my machine one using integrated security the other using SQL authentication both are system DSNs. Now when I publish my application and access it from IIS and not the localhost I can access everything from my application ok except when I go to form that has the crystal reports I get this error (ODBC used here is the 'sa' account)
Logon failed. Details: IM002:[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified Error in File
If I use the other ODBC that uses Windows authentication I get this error message
Logon failed. Details: 42000:[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Cannot open database requested by the login. T
