Internal Error 500 and The Report Server Not Responding

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 01, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

I'm about to give up the ghost here.. I've got Reporting Services installed, the IIS default website is accessible, and it appears the virtual directories "Reports" and "ReportServer" are there, but when I try to access either of these paths via a browser I get the following: Reports - "The report server is not responding. Verify that the report server is running and can be accessed from this computer." ReportServer - Internal Error 500 When reviewing the logs I see this: "w3wp!ui!7!9/1/2010-11:13:39:: e ERROR: The report server is not responding. Verify that the report server is running and can be accessed from this computer. w3wp!ui!7!9/1/2010-11:13:40:: e ERROR: HTTP status code --> 500" I've tried the start stop of ReportServices and IIS...no good... I've checked all permissions and can't seem to find any that are lacking...  I'm running this on SQL Server 2005 (64bit edition), on a Windows 2008 R2 server... any help would be appreciated... I'm getting gray hairs as I type this :-)   Jill

RDL Rendering (500 Internal Server) Error at Sharepoint Integrated Reporting Service

I have a serious problem that cannot be solved by googling around the keywords below:
sharepoint, moss 2007, reporting service, ssrs 2008, rendering, internal server error, ....

The error is;

"An error occurred during client rendering. The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. "

Everything is O.K.;

* When I render the report from the REPORTSERVER (http://localhost/ReportServer)
* When the reports are scheduled to be sent by the reporting service (planned via MOSS 2007)

But if I open (render) the RDL file from the sharepoint REPORTS LIBRARY interface, all of the reports fail with that internal error message above.

It is weird also that parametrized reports are displayed without errors although the parameters are queried from a sql dataset. But I got the error when rendering the report after I've chosen a parameter  and order "apply/report"...

Possible causes how I met that error may be;

After I have installed (then uninstalled) AJAX extensions
After I have re-configured IIS Web Service Extensions list items

Possible solution alternatives I've found;

I've found a solution on MSDN replying a similar issue with an ideal cause of the error but an evreka answer but no sol

I tried from local and remote computer too but gives the same error both side. I am not sure but I am just thinking is this double hop kerberos security issue? Please help me to solve this problem. hi, i decided to export my local site to iis today, the process wasn't smooth.   anyway. i was able to access my site, the db tables are working as i am able to create new records and retrieve them. my main problem now is with the report object. i've tried the work around found here : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2002980.. it helped sort of. i used to have only a big page of error before i did the work around, now i am able to see half of the report (the report interface) but the contents, the field are filled with 404 errors. any idea how i can fix this??

Msg 8624, Level 16, State 13 - Internal SQL Server error.

Hi, I have a weird T-SQL 80 query full of nested subqueries full of aggregations tha thas been embedded in a view. if I do select * from the view I get: Server: Msg 8624, Level 16, State 13 Internal SQL Error.  If I run the same block of code from the query analyzer it runs fine. Also if I wrap exactly the same code in a SP it runs fine. I'm running this on a SQL Server 2000 Standard Edition SP4 8.00.2282. + I turned on the following Trace Flags: 3614, 9052, 9054, 9056, 9057, 9185, 9256. If I restore the same DB on a SQL Server 2005 and do the same select * it runs fine. So I'm getting the Error 8624 only on my SQL 2000 Standard edition  SP4 8.00.2282. Another thing I dont understand is also: why I can compile the view but if I try to visualize even the query plan I get the same error?!? Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thank you. Internal Server Error Exception when Searching (in CoreResultsWebPart::OnInit)

Hello, We are encountering an "Internal server error exception" when we attempt to search. The relevant error in the ULS log is:   CoreResultsWebPart::OnInit: Exception initializing: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.     at Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.WebControls.CoreResultsWebPart.SetPropertiesOnQueryReader()     at Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.WebControls.CoreResultsWebPart.OnInit(EventArgs e)   This is occurring on a fresh install of SharePoint Server 2010 Standard Edition running on a single-server farm.  We have tried:   ensuring that hotfix 976462 is installed (it is) ensuring that the "SharePoint Server Search" and "Search Query and Site Settings Service" services are running (they are) removing, then reinstalling the search application (tried, but with no luck) appending ":80" to the host of portion of the search result url to see if we get a different result (we do not) ensuring that the application pool is assigned correctly (it is) restarting the timer service restarting the search service rebooting For the sake of conversation, we'll say the server is named "pharaoh". It has the following AAMs: http://pharaoh:8888, Default Zone  (Central Admin) http://pharaoh, Default Zone   All services and applicati

SQL Server 2008 Internal error at ExecuteSqlCmd

On a version of SQL Server 2008 with Service Pack 1 applied (on Windows Server 2003), I am finding that when trying to run a bulk number of jobs using the sqlcmd command, one of the jobs will randomly fail to run with the following error thrown in the command window: Sqlcmd: Error: Internal error at ExecuteSqlCmd (Reason: Unspecified error). I've found that each time the batch of jobs is run, a different one will fail to run each time.  It seems to be completely random which one will fall over, but you can guarantee that at least one will fall over each time. I've tried numerous websites to find an answer and no luck so far.  There is a hotfix which has been released for this exact same problem (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2121407/) but this is only for R2 and so cannot be applied to my installation and we're not in a position to move to R2 as yet. Is there a fix available for non R2 users for this?

Error connecting to Remote report server database in SQL Server 2008 R2 DataCenter Edition

I am trying to configure my report server installed on Server A to point to a reporting services DB on Server B. I am able provide the name and test the connection. However, when i click next on the configuration wizard after providing the Server A name I am receiving the below error: The feature: "Remote access to report data sources and/or the report server database" is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services I have SQL Server 2008 R2 DataCenter Edition on both the servers.

I have a web page that contains a ReportViewer control.  I am trying to display a report, which is an .rdl file located on the SSRS server, in this ReportViewer control.  I have set the ReportPath and ReportServerUrl correctly.  I am getting an error message. Am I suppose to use an .rdlc file rather than a .rdl file?  Does the web server configuration need to use a certain account?  I am getting the following error message: The attempt to connect to the report server failed. Check your connection information and that the report server is a compatible version. The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found.

MS Message Queueing 4.0 HTTP Support - 500 Internal Server Error

Hi all,   I've been trying to set up MSMQ 4.0 with HTTP Support to allow one of our partners to send messages to us. However, whenever I make any call to the msmq page I get an internal server error 500 (See below). My platform is Windows 2008 SE (64-bit) running as a DC (though MSMQ is running in workgroup mode).   Any hints on what might be causing this or how I can investigate further? Are there any log files for the ISAPI extension, or the MQISE.dll, or the MSMQ service that might help me shed light on this problem?   I've seen blogs about an issue with MSMQ 3.0 where the machine name can't be 15 characters long, is this still the case with MSMQ 4.0?   The error details are as below,     Server Error in Application "WWW.MYDOMAIN.COM/MSMQ" Internet Information Services 7.0 HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, so it cannot be displayed. (500) Internal Server Error

I was given a new Win 7 machine for development and converted our project to it.  Everything is working fine except posting a an XML from to localhost.  I'm getting the famous (500) Internal Server Error. 500 Internal Server Error

Reports sporadically fail to run.  Users are returned a "(500) Internal Server Error" message. The following appears in the report server logs: library!ReportServer_0-1!af4!09/16/2010-15:29:04:: e ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ReportServerStorageException: An error occurred within the report server database.  This may be due to a connection failure, timeout or low disk condition within the database., ; library!ReportServer_0-1!af4!09/16/2010-15:29:04:: w WARN: Transaction rollback was not executed connection is invalid library!ReportServer_0-1!af4!09/16/2010-15:29:04:: e ERROR: Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ReportServerStorageException: An error occurred within the report server database.  This may be due to a connection failure, timeout or low disk condition within the database. ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Transaction (Process ID 139) was deadlocked on lock resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. I can't get Reporting Services to work with Sharepoint.

I've followed the instructions for installation of Reporting Service in SharePoint Integrated Mode, and completed the indicated steps on the SharePoint Central Administration Site successfully.  When I try to create a page with a Reporting Services Webpart, I get the following error:

===========================

Invalid object name 'History'.
----------------------------
An error occurred within the report server database.  This may be due to a connection failure, timeout or low disk condition within the database. (rsReportServerDatabaseError)

============================

I have SQL 2008 R2, SharePoint Enterprise 2010, and Report Builder 3.0.  SQL and Sharepoint are installed on the same server.

I'm certain that there isn't a disk or timeout problem, so I'm assuming that it's a connection failure, but don't know what steps to take to troubleshoot and correct this.

Thanks
