I have a Hyper-V installation of MOSS 2007 with 1 Front End web, 1 SQL 2005 server, 1 Domain Controller. This was all working after the initial installation. I then received a new lab server and migrated my VHDs over to the new host server
running Win2k8 R2. After moving the vhds over I re-created the SharePoint machines. I did give the machines a new name before they were SSP-name now they are SP1- name and I have updated my DNS server to reflect the new names.
I had initially used Administrator everywhere for the installation (pressed for time and it is a lab env to play with). It was running no issue before the move to the new machine.
Now when I try to access sharepoint-80 (my site) I get the message above. I have found and tried to follow KB823287 and the service is running and I had one of my SQL SMEs take a look at the machine for me - still getting same error. Using
KB823287 in Method 3 to ensure the required permissions it says to click Start-PGMS-MS SQL Server then Enterprise Manager. I do not seem to have an Enterprise Manager Option there. Is there another method for me to confirm the permissions - (although
I would tell you I had the SME confirm the rights).
Is there some logging I can review that might help me to understand why I am not connecting to the Database?
