How can I trigger the email to go out AUTOMATICALLY on the selected date?????? Does the link below help me answer this question??  I just need a high level steps on how to do this. SPD workflow doesn't send email to user in list when automatically started

Hi all,

My first post here and I hope someone out there could kindly help. I recently found out a strange issue with my SPD workflow. Basically, it couldn't send out email if (1) the recipient resides in the list and (2) the workflow is automatically started.

For example, I have a list with a "user" field. A workflow first "Send an email" to this user, and then "Collect data from a user" from this user. If the workflow is set to start automatically, then this user gets no email. Tasks list does contain a task, but the "Assigned To" field of the task is empty. This is the case no matter if the user field is of type "Single line of text" or "Person or Group".

Everything's fine if I manually start the workflow. And everything's fine if the user is directly spelled out (jay@company.com) in the "Send an email" and "Collect data from a user" actions instead of retrieved from the list. Either case the user would get two emails as expected, and the "Assigned To" field would display the user name properly.

I looked into the log but didn't find anything special. As you can imagine, this is breaking a lot of our workflows and making SPD workflow look very bad. It's just not

Automatically send custom email to upon InfoPath form submission

I would like to have an InfoPath form automatically send out and email upon submission.

I would like the email to be comprised of content from the fields of the form. For example:

To: <data from the "Manager" field>

From: <data from the "Requester" field>

Subject: You have a request for <data from the "Project Name" Field>.

Body: Hi <Manager>,

I would like more information on <Project>

-< Requester >

Is this possible? It doesn't need to be part of a workflow, we just want the relevant manager aware of the request.

What is the default in the Three State Workflow for how many days after due date to send email remin

I am setting up Three-State Workflow on an Issue Tracking list in MOSS 2007. My company does not allow SP Designer. I would like to know what is the default setting in this workflow for how many days after task due date to send the email reminder. Also, is there a way to change this setting under site collection administration? I would like it to send the reminder every 2 days.

Send Email from SQL Server Express Using a CLR Stored Procedure

One of the nice things about SQL Server is the ability to send email using T-SQL. The downside is that this functionality does not exist in SQL Server Express. In this tip I will show you how to build a basic CLR stored procedure to send email messages from SQL Server Express, although this same technique could be used for any version of SQL Server.

If you have not yet built a CLR stored procedure, please refer to this tip for what needs to be done for the initial setup.

How to send an email with information in query string

First I will say I googled (Binged to make Bill happy) for this but could not find anything, perhaps I am not stating what I need correctly;

I have a website that a customer creates orders (for a printing company) and after the order, I would like to email the customer a link to view the status of their order;

I need to send the CustomerID in the link so on the returning page if a CustomerID is detected in the querystring, I "auto login" the client and open the "Dashboard" for the order page for that customer.

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to send the link and how to parse the querystring to get the values from the link;

Thank you if you can point me in the right direction.

Trying to send email using Sharepoint Designer 2007 workflow and email enabled list

I have a a list that recieves email. I have few fields that shows me the originator: "E-Mail From" and "E-Mail Sender".

I am trying to create a workflow that will generate an auto reply to the originator but the SPD fails to recognize the email address in these two fields. It's either truncating part of it or uses the html ( href=mailto:Demo@DemoSomething.com) in the To field.

Thank you,

I can't send email from workflow.

I’ve got strange problem. I’ve created workflow with Visual studio 2008 which works fine. If workflow create task user gets email with alert and it works  - user gets email.   The problem is that I would like to use Workflow component: “SendEmail” for some cases. And if I enter directly into component email address for field: “TO” the message will be delivered. But if I use simple code with the same email address for field ”TO” it doesn’t work (field TO is empty now).

How to send Viewers email alerts on approved items

I use the OOB Workflow approval to approve items in a document library. Once the items are approved I want to send out an email alert to a group of people with "read" access. The problem is that the email alerts don't fire. I even changed the alerts to fire on "All Changes", but still nothing coming through. I assume this is because of the workflow approval and perhaps that the event doesn't fire when an item gets published after approval?

But how can I get my readers to be notified of newly published (and approved) items? There must be a way of doing it?

make json call to send an email

the aspx:

<div class="contactSubmit">
                <asp:ImageButton ID="ibSubmit" runat="server" ValidationGroup="vgContact" /></div>

the jquery :

$(document).ready(function () {
            // Add the page method call as an onclick handler for the div.
            $(".contactSubmit").click(function () {
                    type: "POST",
                    url: "Home.aspx/GetDate",
                    data: "{}",
                    contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8",
                    dataType: "json",
                    success: function (msg) {
                        // Replace the div's content with the page method's return.

The problem is that I need to use the text in a text box in my webmethod, and I can't because it's static, this results in a compilation error:

    public static string SendContactForm()

Change database fields automatically according to date

Hi, I'm currently developing a software application for my client. Part of the project is to keep track of his stock's shipping status. The client must insert the stock's pick-up date, expected time of departure (ETD) and expected time of arrival (ETA). The stocks will be called out using Grid View and the status, being one of the keys of the database, will be shown. Before the current date reaches pick-up date, the status must show "in warehouse", and after the current date reaches pick-up date and is before ETD, status must show that its "on the way to the port", and after ETD and before ETA, "in freight", and finally after ETA, "arrived". What datatype should I use for the database and where should I program it so that it changes automatically accordingly ?
