How to create HTML from XSLT with actual formating

Posted By: Posted Date: September 01, 2010 Points: 0 Category :ASP.Net
Hi, I am creating HTML script using XSLT using an XML file. I am creating that input XML file from the database values. The database values are contains the data with some html formatting tags like values etc. for Ex:I have the table.EmployeeID CommentsEMP101 Some normal comment with Value with bol I required to create XML file with the fomatted comment, but when I create XML it contains >< etc., like <Employees><Emp id="EMP101">
Some normal comment with <b>Value with bol</b>
</Emp></Employees> When I create HTML using XSLT, the values again contains the >< characters instead of the actual formating what the database stores. Please let me know how to solve this issue. I required the output HTML will be inthe same format what the database stored. Many Thanks,Kelvin.

How to dynamically create HTML file from the code ?

Hi all,Precisely and concisely, I have aspx page that has only one button "Generate". If the user clicked on this button, one HTML page should be created. The created HTML page should have title "Home" and the Body should contain "Hello World". 1) What is the code that should be written inside "Generate" button in order to accomplish this functionality? 2) Assuming the HTML page gets created, How to store it inside specific folder on the local drive? Or how to store it inside DB? I would greatly appreciate any constructive input!

How to create a new Html control which contain multiple html control ?

Hi all,

I am realizing a table with multiple rows for a Sharepoint webpart.

In this project, I would like to have a new html control which contain a LinkHtml in one column and another label in another column.

Essentially this html control would be a row used for my html table.

At the moment i am doing a row like this in the main class :

HtmlTableRow Row = new HtmlTableRow();

            //create colum 1
            HtmlTableCell _Column11 = new HtmlTableCell();
            _Column11.Style.Add(HtmlTextWriterStyle.Width, linkColumnWidth);

            // Create the input textbox
            Label _LinkButton = new Label();
            //_LinkButton.ID = claimsLinkButtonID + contentLabel;
            //_LinkButton.CommandName = IdTask;
            _LinkButton.Text = contentLink;
            //_LinkButton.Style =

            Label _NumberOfMessagesLabel = new Label();
            _NumberOfMessagesLabel.Text = contentLabel;

            //add the textbox into column 1

            //add column 1 into row 1

            //create column 2
            HtmlTableCell _Column12 = new HtmlTableCell();
            _Column12.Style.Add(HtmlTextWriterStyle.Width, priorityColumnWidth);

            // add the label into colu

Create a Tree view with expand or collapse using XSLT

I have created an XSLT file to show the contents of xml in HTML format in the form of a tree. Now, my requirement is to add expand or collapse capability to this output(html) using XSLT and Javascript. The sample output looks like this:

Resource Center

  • Home
    • Resource Center
    • List of Resource Types
    • Create validation formating

      I want to create a sort of validation formatting (like regex). It doesn't have to actual validate; just make it easier for the user to enter the correct number of character needed. I want something like domain: [xxx].[xxx].[xxx] (so it only allows 9 numbers, 2 periods).

      So for instance when the user moves to the field they would be presented with one field with ability to enter 3 numbers.3 numbers.3 numbers

      Any Ideas?  Thanks,

How to create buckets on measures from 2 fact tables, i.e variance between actual and budget coming

1. to put the gist of the problem, i am trying to make an expense analysis report that compares my actual with its budget.

2. actual is coming from 1 fact table e.g. fact_general_ledger (grain = voucher number) and budget is coming from another fact table (grain = account [much higher than voucher number])

3. i have to calculate the variance (actual minus budget) at an account grain and make a percentage measure. hence i will get data like

Account     Var%

a1             -115%

a2              -5%

a3              7%

a4              20%

a5              22%

a6              35%

a7              45%

a8              57%

a9              95%

ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript Snippet Support (VS 2010 and .NET 4.0 Series)

This post covers another useful improvement in VS 2010 - HTML/ASP.NET/JavaScript snippet support. Snippets allow you to be more productive within source view by allowing you to create chunks of code and markup that you can quickly apply and use in your application with a minimum of character typing.

Visual Studio has supported the concept of "snippets" for VB and C# in previous releases - but not for HTML, ASP.NET markup and JavaScript. With VS 2010 we now support snippets for these content types as well.
