I have a simple, two-page (input/output) mobile iPhone web site that is better than 99% done. On the first page, you enter query-building criteria, and on the second, you get the results. The results contain a variety of links, some of them local ones that get called with response.redirect, and others external ones that get call directly via hyperlink buttons and controls.
My problem is that the second page isn't always always responsive when you return from one of the links (if you left if via one of the redirect links, it never is). Also, the first page isn't responsive if you return to it from the second page via certain smartphones' built-in backbuttons.
Pagestatepersister sounds like the answer to all of my problems, but I simply can't get the code at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.web.ui.pagestatepersister(VS.80).aspx to work with my VB project. Among the things that I'm getting stuck on are:
What namespace should I be using in place of "Samples.AspNet.VB"?
Where it shows you how to compile the two modules -- does the resultant DLL belong in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\bin\, mywebsite\bin, or both?
Is it a "Browsers" or "App_Browsers" directory that you create off of the root of you web app, and what NAME do you give the browser file?
