Problems posting to a package

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 21, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Hey Y'all

I'm currently creating a program that accesses a mysql package to add data to a few tables.  I'm currently getting an error that says  "

ORA-01403: no data found
ORA-06512: at "JESSE.PKG_WORKPLAN", line 42
ORA-06512: at "JESSE.PKG_WORKPLAN", line 177
ORA-06512: at line 1

These lines are

and 177:add_team_members(V_PROJECT_ID, V_START_DATE, v_FISC_YEAR, V_MEMBERS ,V_NUM_MEMBERS,'add');

Checking these variables in my asp.net page they are all receiving parameters.

Is there a  way to see what the database is actually receiving from the asp.net page?

Or is there another thing to be looking at?

Problems running a bat file within a SSIS package

I have a ssis package which has 2 tasks, first it builds an excel sheet with data on the server from where I am running the ssis pkg and the second task (a sql process task), runs a bat. the bat file that basically copies the  excel sheet created from the first step to another server. Problem is that the ssis pkg runs succesful when i run it from BIDS, bust when I run is as ajon, it gets hung. It completes the first step, it is the sescond step that is get hung. I noticed that when i run from BIDs, it does come up with a window open file - security warning and says the publisher could not be verified, are you sure you want to run this software. why does it do that ??? the file I am asking to run is a .bat file. it should automatically use the cmd.exe app to run the bat file. Please help !!!   Thanks in advance.

Package Configuration Problems SQL 2008 R2

I have an SSIS package that is using a SQL Server configuration to store connection strings for the other connection managers used by the package.  The connection string for the connection manager used to get the SQL Server configuration data is passed to DTExec when the package is executed.  The SQL configuration sets the values of variables that hold the connection strings and the connection managers use the variables in an expression to set the connection string.  I'm doing this so that I can move the packages from dev to qa then to production.  I also need to have the child packages use the same connection strings as the parent package so each child package has a parent package variable configuration containing the connection strings.  It uses these to set the values of child package variables which are then used to set the connection string property of the connection managers using an expression. I tested my packages by connecting to the development SSIS server, clicking on the package and selecting run package.  I select the connection managers tab so that I can change the connection string of the connection manager that points to the SSIS Configurations table which contains the development connection strings.  This works great. I deployed my packages to the production server and again tested the packages by running them from the pr

Runtime Package Configuration Problems

I have been reading a few other threads on this topic but so far nothing is helping.  My ETL package runs perfectly in my development environment but my attempts to create package configurations so that things like connection strings can be changed for the production environment without modifying the package are not working...  To be clear I can get things like the connection string to my "target" ETL database to work just fine using an XML config file.  However I seem to be running into a problem where even though at run-time my package may pay attention to certain config settings, it first validates the development settings (which are not right in the production environment hence it fails). On this microsoft page ->http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms141682.aspx under the section entitled "Understanding How Package Configurations are Applied at RunTime" it says... "When you use the dtexec command prompt utility (dtexec.exe) to run a deployed package, the utility applies package configurations twice. The utility applies configurations both before and after it applies the options that you specified on command line" I think this may be the root of my problem... why in the world would it first apply the "before"configuration?!?!?! (ie "the configuration before it applies the options" ) Afterall, the conf

Package Configuration causing problems with Oracle Connection

Hi All,

We need to import the data from Oracle 10g database to SQL Server 2005 database.

Solution Picked:

In order to accomplish the above, we used SQL Server Integration Services along with Business Intelligence Developer Studio.

Base Details:

There are around 17 packages, each retrieving data from Oracle and storing into SQL Server based on current date. Following are the steps used:

  1. Get current date from SQL Server [Execute SQL Task].
  2. Create Query based on date obtained from step (1) [Script Task].
  3. Based on query obtained from step (2). Inside a [Data Flow Task] following sub actions are performed:

Actions performed in [Data Flow Task]

  1. Retrieve data from Oracle database using query through [OLE DB Source].
  2. Perform any data modifications to correct the data [Derived Column].
  3. Store data in SQL Server [OLE DB Destination].
  4. Rejections are saved in text file [Flat File Destination].

Problems with Cumulative Update package 6 for SQL Server 2008 R2

I have tried to download the Cumulative Update package 6 for SQL Server 2008 R2 several times and the file "427849_intl_i386_zip.exe" appears to be having issues. When I run the self extract gives me error 110.  What is causing this problem?

Top .NET Performance Problems and how to avoid them

Every time I work with one of our .NET customers to help them with managing their application performance I come across the same problems as seen with other clients before: lots of ADO.NET queries, many hidden exceptions in core or 3rd party .NET libraries, slow 3rd party components, inefficient custom code

Visual Studio 2008 Memory problems

My memory in task manager reaches about 900,000K  and I don't know why it does this. Definately slows everything down, especially when I rebuild my tableAdapters, takes about 30 seconds sometimes to rebuild the project.

Problems with Forms Authentication in DD 4 site

Hello,  I am seeing a strange problem with Forms Authentication in my DD site.   A user logs into and can view/edit/delete data all day, but when they execute a Custom Filter against data (for example , a control DynamicData/Filters/CustomerLastNameSearch.ascx ) then the site auth fails, and redirects to the log in screen.

in web.config I have

     <authentication mode="Forms">
            <forms name=".Star" loginUrl="~/Login.aspx" protection="All" defaultUrl="~/Default.aspx" path="/" timeout="43200" cookieless="UseCookies" />

Offhand, I am thinking two things : that DynamicData/Filters path requires some special handling for some reason, or the control extension ascx is causing auth to get confused.   Has anyone else experienced this or have any suggestions?  Thanks!

URL Routing and Existing HttpHandler problems

Hello everyone,

I have a problem:

I am currently using 2 features:

1. HttpHandler

Registering the path="res.aspx" verb="*"

2. URL Routing:

Registering with this pattern: "Company/Edit/{*companyId}","~/CompanyEdit.aspx"

In my CompanyEdit.aspx page, I used httphandler res.aspx to generate some images at client.

  • res.aspx?img=1
  • res.aspx?img=3

Now the problem is here, the page is load success with companyId = "12345", but when the images was loaded at client, it loaded the CompanyEdit.aspx again and show error with wrong id.

I have debug and find the problem that because when image's urls were generated to client with url=res.aspx?img=1, url=res.aspx?img=3, the asp.net will understand that they are Company/Edit/res.aspx?img=1, Company/Edit/res.aspx?img=3 when it maps with URL Routing pattern.

=> So the CompanyEdit.aspx was load again with wrong id (id now is "res.aspx").

So, do you have any ideas to solve this problem, or other design.

Thanks, and best regard

Posting data to ASMX and return Object for jQuery

I am using fluent NHibernate with WebForms and I am trying to build a page where I allow a user to post a status update on their profile page and I a using a .asmx WebService to post the data to the database and then returnig a StatusUpdate instance to the page to be used by jQuery. I have a couple problems.

1) First off when I return a string from the WebService(i was testing) the textbox where the user enters their status doesnt empty the contents. And since the page doesnt refresh even if I manally clear out the textbox and put in something else, it still posts the previous status to the database again. How do I fix this?

2) Secondly, when I return the StatusUpdate Object from the Webservice I cant the results to display anything. Like I sad, Im using jQuery to make an AJX call to the WebService.

Here is my code:

User Profile Page:

Status: <asp:Label ID="status" runat="server"></asp:Label><span style="font-size:.7em;"><asp:Label ID="statustime" runat="server"></asp:Label></span><br />
<textarea id="statusBox" rows="3" cols="40"></textarea><br />
<input type="button" value="Update Status" onclick="SetStatus(); return false;

ASP.NET 4 precompilation problems

We used ASP.NET precompilation (first manually, then with VS2008 WDP) with .NET 3.5 almost (see below) successfully.

After we moved to 4.0, the precompilation no longer works properly. The precompilation process itself succeeds, and the website works, but it consumes about twice the CPU it does without any precompilation. We use non-updatable precompilation (so webpages get compiled completely).

Our internal profiling tells us that most of the threads spend their time within variations of the following stack:

  System.Web.dll!System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultFromCacheInternal(System.Web.VirtualPath virtualPath, bool ensureIsUpToDate) + 0xa2 bytes
System.Web.dll!System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultInternal(System.Web.VirtualPath virtualPath, bool noBuild, bool allowCrossApp, bool allowBuildInPrecompile, bool throwIfNotFound, bool ensureIsUpToDate) + 0x5b bytes
System.Web.dll!System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithNoAssert(System.Web.HttpContext context, System.Web.VirtualPath virtualPath, bool noBuild, bool allowCrossApp, bool allowBuildInPrecompile, bool throwIfNotFound, bool ensureIsUpToDate) + 0xcb bytes

SMTP not working if I use web deployment package to deploy my app.

Hi all

I use msdeploy to install my web app. deployment package. everything about web app works, but find out email was not working.

I checked telnet smtp is running.

I debug the project, and it was sending out email too.

So my solution was upload the whole project (not complied) to wwwroot, and email works too. Thats why I assume the deployment cause the problem.

at last, I also tried to copy the web deployment web.config to replace the project's web.config, and the email also work, so it wasn't the web.config problem.

Could anyone tell me whats going on?

My environment:

window 2003

iis 6

Problems converting VS 2003 project to VS 2008

I'm having problems converting a VS 2003 project to VS 2008 (tried 2005 as well, same problem). There are several problems;
a) I don't have VS 2003 installed.
b) The project is a web service, however I'm not sure what type of VS project it was created as.
c) The general knowledge about the project setup is..slim.

I get a error message using the conversion wizard, however, I'm not familiar with the tool and I cannot quite find any good information on Google for it, so I am left with a error message I do not understand.

Conversion Issues - myProject.csproj:
Unable to open the Web site 'C:\local\path\to\project\myProject.csproj'. The Web site 'C:\local\path\to\project\myProject.csproj' does not exist.

The web service is not intended to run on the dev machine, it is copied to a test or a prod server. However, I do not know how this was done previously. I'm thinking that in order to convert, it has to access the server on which it should run (which is set somehow in a config maybe). But that doesn't actually make any sence..

If anyone could shed light on this, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you.

.AspNet-Menu-Selected Problems

I am trying to have the selected item in the menu be noticeable different than the other items.  I am able to change the border as in the samples, but nothing else. I would like the selected font color to change as well as the background image / color.  Here is a sample page and style sheet.  Any help is greatly appreciated.
