run dtexec on server from batch file on client machine

Hi I would like to enable a user to execute an SSIS (2005) package located on a server.  The client does not have any elements of SQL server installed on his machine so he cannot execute the package locally.  At present he has to remote connect to the server and double click a batch file on the server that contains the dtexec script. I would like to have a batch file located on the client desktop that he can click, that will run the dtsexec script on the server - as it will not work from the client machine.  However every set of commands i try inevitably end up trying to run the package on the local machine, which obviously fails. Is there any way to have the client kick of the package and have it run on the server, without him actually having to directly remote desktop to the client? Thanks  Guy

Client download .csv file from server using Response.TransmitFile

I am using the code below to enable clients to download a .csv file from my server. The problem I am having is that when the file is saved to the client computer the file name is prefixed and suffixed with an underscore which leads to a file type of .csv_ which is obviously not a recognised file type. How can I strip the underscores from the file name at the transmit stage?        Dim FileName As String = LstBox1.SelectedItem.ToString        Dim FilePath As String = "~/temp" & FileName        Response.Clear()        Response.ContentType = "text/csv"        Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=\" & FileName & "\")        Response.TransmitFile(FilePath)        Response.End()

Client image files uploaded to Server are staying locked when accessed again.

I have a web form that, upon user request, uploads an image file from the client to a server folder, makes a thumbnail and saves to another folder than sets an imageurl of an image control to that thumbnail. All fine up to here, problem is that at times (not always but could not find the exact pattern) when uploading an existing file, it throws a ' ... file used by another process ... ' error, both on the original image file and the created thumbnail. Is there a way to prevent the locking of these files or alternately, which object need I destroy to release the image file and avoid these contentions? I do destroy the image object immediately after thumbnail is created. Ideas anyone?

Saving Data In Client Machine

Hi Guys,

I developed an application in Asp.net. It is a receipting system. I have deployed the system in a company which runs with various networks. The company uses VPN, LAN and so many. When I deployed the system they complain the speed is very slow when accessing through network. Specially in the receipt page where i have used Update Panels and AJAX Comboboxes, they complain that it takes time to load the combo boxes. Also they say that when the selected index is changed in the combo box, it takes time to post the data in the other relevant controls.

Now my main concern is to speed up the system? Can anyone help me to improve the speed? its really urgent. Please spot me out where the problem exists.

Download an XML File to the IIS server, not to the client

Hey guys,

I'm trying to do the following in ASP.NET (with c#):

1. On page Load, download an XML file from a different website to the IIS server, in a subdirectory of the application directory called "downloadedFiles"

I know that WebClient.DownloadFile() can download a file, but this only seems to download the file to the client's machine. I am interested in downloading it to the actual IIS server (so that it can be utilized throughout the lifetime of more than one session). Does anyone know how this could be performed?

Specifically, I'm trying to download an XML file from a website (as an example: http://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/followers/CiscoSystems.xml). How could I download that XML file onto my actual IIS server?

Thanks a ton for any help

WCF Windows Auth (NTLM) Problem when Client and Server are on the same machine

I have WCF service being hosted in IIS with windows auth enabled, it is running under NetworkService account .  I have a simple method on my WCF service which just reflects the identity of who is calling it.

public string RefelctIdentity()

Import Excel File to Sql Server on a 64 bit machine

I need to import Excel (xls - 2003-2007) data into a Sql Server 2008 database. Both the Excel file and the database live on a Windows Server 2003 R2 sp2 64 bit machine.  I’m fine with it running in 32 bit mode but it all needs to happen on the same server. Also, I would like it to run in T-Sql but as a fallback we can do this in SSIS.

My T-Sql code which runs fine on a 32 bit machine is as follows:

SELECT * Into #TempTable From OpenRowSet('Microsoft.Jet.Oledb.4.0','Excel 8.0;Database=\\Servername\Folder\filename.xls;HDR=NO;IMEX=1', 'select * from [Main$]')

On the 64 bit server:

How do I use asp.net to relay server folder contents to a flash file via xml?

I built a flash player that uses an array to play songs users can rate. The idea behind the player is to allow users to rate songs that the player pulls in from the file system. I'm using asp.net with sql database on a win 2008 server.

I need a way to create a song list that will be dynamically created by reading the contents of the song folder on the server.  Since Flash cannot do this itself, I need to know how to use ASP.net to act as the middle man, reading the folder contents and relaying that data to the Flash file in a format that Flash can process (xml)

any information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
