Reporting Service Model with db2 data source?

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 01, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server
Sorry if this has been already asked.  I searched, but couldn't find it any previous posts. My question is can you have db2 as a datasource in Reporting Service Model?  Currently in the drop down I can only see SQL, which we have a few models over, and Oracle.  We are using SQL server 2008 r1. If not does Microsoft have any plans to add this in the future? Thanks for any help!

The report cannot be opened because the data source associated with it is not a report model.

i tried to open a report i created in sql business intelligence development studio in the report builder in wss3 and it gave me this error:

Microsoft.ReportingServices.ReportBuilder.ReportModel.Report: The report 'http://servername:port#/Reports/report.rdl' cannot be opened because the data source 'http://servername:port#/DataSource Library/datasource.rsds' associated with it is not a report model.

This report was not created in Report Builder. Try opening this report in Report Designer instead.

How to use SharePoint 2007 list data in Reporting Service (Visual Studio) 2008?

Jeez - I have been googling left and right, and tried all the suggestions. No luck in getting it to work. I am using Reporting Service 2008 tools in my VS2008, trying to create a simple report using SharePoint 2007 data (from a simple list). Here is what I've been doing: Created a simple SharePoint list in a test site - only one column (Title) with one record of data. Started Visual Studio 2008 and created a new Report Server Project Wizard project. I named the data source "dsTest". Type: "XML". As connection string I used: http://site/subsite/subsite/_vti_bin/lists.asmx. Credentials: "Use Windows Authentication (Integrated Security)". Clicked Next and arrived at the "Design the Query" form. I entered this in the Query string box: <Query> <Method Namespace="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/" Name="GetListItems" /> <SoapAction>http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/GetListItems</SoapAction> </Query> Clicking Next I get this error: An error occurred while the query design method was being saved. Failed to execute web request for the specified URL. Soap Fault: Exception of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException' was thrown. Now if I view the Details when trying it inside the Query Builder I get this: <errorstring xmlns="http://schemas.mi

How to save Windows credentials to a data source in SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 using Visual

I am trying to create a shared data source for SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 that uses a specific Windows user ID and password to connect to the database. Using the Report Manager web interface, if I create a shared data source and specify "Credentials stored securely in the report server", I can check the "Use as Windows credentials when connecting to the data source" checkbox. This tells SSRS that the user ID and password I specify are from a Windows user, not a SQL Server user. I want to create the shared data source using Visual Studio though. In Visual Studio I have an option to use stored credentials but there is no equivalent of the "Use as Windows credentials when connecting to the data source" checkbox. SSRS always assumes that user and password are for a SQL Server user, not a Windows user, and thus the connection fails. Does anyone know how to tell Visual Studio that the stored credentials are for a Windows user?

WCF Data Service as Forms Auth ASP Auth Source

I was wondering if it is possible to use a WCF Dataservice as the MemberShipProvider for a forms auth application. I have written code for a provider (below), but I do not know what to do as far as a connection string, or any other web.config properties. Please Help!!! Here is the code for my provider, anytime it says Odbc that is because I based this off of the custom Odbc provider on the msdn site. The only ACTUAL references to any odbc connection are in the comments:

How to update Domain Service from Entity Data Model?

Hi guys,

So I'm using Entity data model to reflect my database and I generate Domain service from my Entity data model.

I understand that if I have changes in my database, I can just choose "Update Model from Database", but there is no "Update Domain service from Model" option available.

How should maintain my domain service? I'm not going to delete away it and regenerate it whenever there are some changes, right?

I need to know what if

- I add in new table in my database, how should I update from database-->model-->domain service?

- I add in new fields in my table, how should I update from database-->model-->domain service?

How can you debug a report data source that is an XML web service?

I have a report that is using an XML web service as it's datasource.  I would like to know what parameter

values the report is passing to the web service.

I tried the following debugging process but it did not work.

1.  Set the Reporting Services Project as the Starting Project.

2.  Set the report as the startitem in the project's startitem property.

3.  Set a breakpoint in the web service.

4.  I started the debugging which opened the report.  I put in a parameter value and ran the report.

But the debugger did not stop at the breakpoint.  What am I doing wrong?

How can I know what parameter values are being passed to the web service?

XML web service showing error in Data Source Library when I clicked on "Show Data".

Hi ,

I am working on share point 2007.
I have added a XML Web service in Data source in Share Point designer 2007. This web service is custom web service which get data from 3 different type of list and creates XML and return that xml.

I have installed this web service as instructed in msdn. I checked it is working properly.
First time when I create a data source from XML web service in Share Point Designer 2007, It shows all records when I clicked on “Show Data ”. But after a few minutes it shows en error” The server returned a non-specific error when trying to get data from the data source. Check the format and content of your query and try again. If the problem persists, contact the server administrator. ”.

WCF web service as a data source

Hello everyone,

I need help with correct syntax usage. I am using SSRS to go against WCF web service as a data source. Inside of the WCF object there is a collection of items that I need to use as Search Criteria for the query.

My question is:

What is the correct XML syntax to create this collection of items within the query? I've used WCFStorm to help generate most of the XML syntax. Unfortunately, the collection syntax does not work.

Here is my query (I have emboldened the segment of the query which my question is directed towards):

     <Method Namespace="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/masterdataservices/2009/09" Name="MetadataGetRequest">

     <Parameter Name="ResultOptions" Type="XML">

 <Parameter Name="SearchCriteria" Type="XML">

<MemberTypes attr0="MemberTypeArray">
