Soap Extensions loading on host only, none on client

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 01, 2010    Points: 0   Category :.NET Framework

I have soap extensions enabled in my web config, but they only intercept the soap messages at the host (AfterSerialize, BeforeDeserialize).  How can I get the client (BeforeSerialize, AfterDeserialize) extensions to kick off?  I have the client and host in the same project.  My web config is as follows: <webServices>       <soapExtensionTypes>         <add type="SoapDisplayExtension.SoapDisplayExtension, SoapDisplayExtension" priority="1" group="High"/>       </soapExtensionTypes>       <protocols>         <remove name="HttpGet" />         <remove name="HttpPost" />         <remove name="Documentation" />       </protocols>     </webServices>

SOAP: Using ATL Server to Build an Asynchronous SOAP Client in Unmanaged C++

SOAP opens up a new world of Web Services, letting you make function calls across a network or the Internet. But this flexibility creates new problems when your app needs to wait for calls to return from halfway around the world. What you need is an asynchronous SOAP client that takes advantage of threading to continue execution while waiting for calls over the wire. This article covers the basics of building such a client with ATL.

DHTML and .NET: Host Secure, Lightweight Client-Side Controls in Microsoft Internet Explorer

In the past, Web developers often used ActiveX controls if they wanted customized client-side functionality incorporated into their Web applications. Now, they can build objects supported by the Microsoft .NET Framework which are more compact, lightweight, secure, and seamlessly integrated. By hosting .NET Windows Forms controls in Internet Explorer, developers can realize many of their client-side Web development goals. This article adapts ActiveX concepts for use with Windows Forms, and builds a multifile upload application that demonstrates these techniques.

Need help in reading Soap request and response on invoking WCF client assembly

Hi All,   I'm new to WCF and i'm using .Net 3.5. I have created a library from the proxy class generated through svcutil. I'm able to succesfully invoke service methods. I was wondering how to capture the request and response soap xmls so that i could render it on browser. If you have any code piece for this kind of problem please share it with me. Regards, Rahul

Seeing the SOAP request sent from a Web Service Client/Consumer

Hello, I am building a web service consumer in C# in VS2010.  Using the provided WSDL, I need to build appropriate headers and use certificates, SSL (user name & pass), & WS security.  I am getting an error from the webservice side, specifically processing the <wsse:Security> header. Is it possible for me to see the exact request I am sending to the Webservice? I'd like to see the values of the pieces of the header that get put in and such. Is it possible to have human readable serialization of what's being passed in right before the error? Thank You

Any way to re-route soap request to different method using soap extensions?

Not sure if this is possible, but is there any way (using soap extensions) to intercept a soap message and re-route it to a different method on the web service host?  I am able to intercept and replace the method name in the xml, but it still goes to the original method.

How to develop WCF services and host them only using WSDL and schemas provided by client(consumer)?

Hi,I am new to WCF. I have just gone through sample calculator service examples and have very hazy understanding of WCF. I have one requirement  where i need to develop WCF services. I have been provided with WSDL and SCHEMAS and has been asked to develop WCF services part.The client part is ready and they need us to write webservices so they can consume it. Can anyone please xplain how could i begin with and from where ? Also what are schemas (XSD's) used for ? Also how would I make sure that after building webservices I have hosted the webservices in such a way that other people in our network could access them ?I have read forums where you have webservices  but need to write clients which can consume it, but not sure how to approach the above requirement. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please explain it considering I AM NOVICE/BEGINNER.  Thanks

WCF MTOM Client calling Java Webservice - Issues with File attachment Content ID encoded in SOAP mes

Hello,I'm having difficulty calling a MTOM enabled Java based web service that accepts an file as input..NET appeats to be generating a SOAP message where the reference to the binary part of the message is an encoded url.For Example:  <inc:Include href="cid:http%3A%2F%2Ftempuri.org%2F1%2F634000265217257868" xmlns:inc="http://www.w3.org/2004/08/xop/include"/>In fact, the Content ID defined in the SOAP message, looks nothing like the actual Content ID of the actual message part.Content-ID: <http://tempuri.org/1/634000265217257868=2787915398744@soapui.org>The service is invoked and executed on the java webserver...but the data element appears to be null.I do not believe the java web server understands the reference in the SOAP message because it is encoded....Or...perhaps it's because the Content-ID attribute has extract stuff on it.I'm working with a custom MTOM encoder in WCF....is there a way to generate your own Content ID or tell .NET not to encode the url?My frustration with .NET has reached an all new level with this project...Any help would be greatly appreciated.Here the SOAP message that is being generated:<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope" xmlns:ns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/ns/cmis/messaging/200901" xmlns:ns1="http://docs.oasis-open.org/ns/cmis/core/200901&q

set Response to client from SOAP Envelope

Hi,

I have a WCF client with a custom behavior that intercepts the SOAP request. In BeforeSendRequest in the client I get the SOAP request and pass it to another WS as parameter. The other WS posts the SOAP envelope to the real service that client wants to invoke and returns the SOAP Response back to client. So in BeforeSendRequest the intermediary service returns the real SOAP response as a string back to client.

public object BeforeSendRequest(ref System.ServiceModel.Channels.Message request, IClientChannel channel)
    {
      string soapResponse = myotherProxy.CallService(request.ToString());
      return null;
    }

How can i set the returned SOAP response (soapResponse) as the real response in the client?

Hope someone can help :)

Thank you, Adrya

Sign outgoing client request SOAP body with WSE 3.0

Hi,

We currently have the code in WCF to sign the outgoing client requests' SOAP Body, however we need the same code for use with WSE 3.0.  I can't find any examples of this.

Is it possible?  If so, does anyone have an example?

Thank you,

Sharing Extensions Between WorkflowService Host and Service Host

Hello all,

I have a website with 2 services running: 1 with a workflow service (.xamlx) and the other just a regular WCF service.  I'm storing data in an extension in the WCF host that I want to retrieve later from the Workflow host when a particular CodeActivity executes.  However, I can't seem to find the proper way of sharing Extensions outside of using static variables (ew).  Does anyone have any guidance for this scenario?

Thanks!

Michael

Consume WCF Service Host from client thru WAN.

i try to host a wcf service thru console by giving the external ip in uri for client consume it as endpoint, but i had this error :

WCF client to access Java SOAP server 1.2

To all WCF experts out there... Maybe you can shed some light on the following questions.  Any pointers regarding WCF client to non-Microsoft implementation on .NET Framework 3.x will be appreciated too.  Thanks in advance.

  1. I already have an object that can serialize to a valid XML input message; minus soap specific elements.  If I pass it directly, it will fail because the object type is so different than type generated by svcutil.exe.  What's the best way of passing this to the service?  I know when I serialize my object, and the one created by svcutil to XML, they are identical.
  2. I guess this should be the first question.  To access a non-microsoft SOAP 1.2 service, is WCF the way to go on .NET Framework 3.0/4.0?
  3. Reference:  Are there any good books/sites that you can refer regarding WCF client (specially non-Microsoft implementation)?  I've seen so many WCF service, but very less focus on the client.
