In this we will be seeing how to set the default content type in SharePoint list using c#

using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Linq;
using System.Text;
using Microsoft.SharePoint;
namespace DefaultContentType
class Program
static void Main(string[] args)
using (SPSite site = new SPSite("http://serverName:1111/"))
using (SPWeb web = site.RootWeb)

SPList list=web.Lists["cl"];
SPContentTypeCollection currentOrder = list.ContentTypes;
List result = new List();
foreach (SPContentType ct in currentOrder)
if (ct.Name.Contains("Content2"))
list.RootFolder.UniqueContentTypeOrder = result;
